How does your game follow the theme?
Dig-A-Hole follows the treasure theme by taking players on an underground adventure in search of hidden riches. Players must dig through layers of dirt, explore the mine, and discover valuable treasures buried beneath the surface.
Throughout the game, players can use different tools to help with their exploration. The pickaxe allows them to dig through dirt and create paths, bombs help clear nearby obstacles, and the radar assists in locating hidden objects. However, not every discovery is a reward. Players must also watch out for dangerous objects that can end their run.
The game connects to the theme of treasure hunting through exploration, discovery, and the excitement of uncovering something valuable. Every dig brings the possibility of finding treasure, making players think carefully about where to go and which tools to use before time runs out.
What is at least one brainCloud feature your game uses?
The game uses brainCloud Leaderboards to record and display player scores. Players can compare their performance through different leaderboards based on their overall score, gold collected, completion time, and amount of dirt dug. This gives players a way to track their progress and compete for better results.

I needed help to figure out that to dig away dirt with the pickaxe I would need to click with the mouse instead of just pushing forwards into the dirt. I was able to get 2 gold each time I did a dig run, but the cheapest upgrades are 10 gold I think, so it felt like I would need to do a lot of work to advance in the game. I never really encountered any obstacles in the dirt so I am not sure what the bombs are for, although I did use a lot of them to see if that would change the situation. Lastly the radar was an interesting feature, but I was not sure what it was telling me. I think maybe the radar could just be on all the time and help me make progress. The game frequently ended with me having extra time. Maybe players are only allowed to collect 2 gold per dive?
Yeah, to be honest, I was actually planning to improve the game, but due to schedule conflicts, most of its features are still in the prototype phase. I only had around 7 days to work on it, and almost half of that time was taken up by school responsibilities.
Regarding the upgrades and gold, they weren't supposed to work that way. The upgrades were intended to be cheaper, while the gold was supposed to be randomized rather than limited to just 2 per run.
As for the radar, it was actually intended to be a little difficult to use because I thought it would be too overpowered if it revealed too much information. The idea was to make players decide whether to take a risk by digging in a particular spot, potentially wasting some of their digging limit, or try another route to find the treasure.
I also intended for the hidden objects to have similar appearances to make players rely more on exploration instead of immediately knowing where everything was.
But I'll definitely take your feedback into consideration. There are things I would like to improve if I get the chance to work on the game again in the future.
Thank you for taking the time to play and share your feedback!
Thank you ChagaChaga!
The digging idea is an interesting concept. I wasn't quite sure how the shop worked or how to spend my gold. The leaderboard is difficult to understand because the player names are not unique. I would be interested to see what this game looks like with some more polish.
Thank you for taking the time to play my game and share your feedback!
I'm glad you found the digging concept interesting. Regarding the shop, leaderboard, and overall polish, I agree that these areas still need improvement. I was rushing to polish the game and get everything ready before the deadline, but unfortunately, I wasn't able to finish everything the way I originally intended.
I'm still a newbie developer, and I also had some personal difficulties during development, so I wasn't able to give these features as much attention as they needed. I'll take your feedback into consideration as I continue learning and improving the game.
I hope to release a better and more polished version in the future, with clearer shop instructions, an easier-to-understand leaderboard, and an improved overall gameplay experience.
Thank you again for giving my game a chance! 😭🥲🙂
Game is good and can be improved further if it has more time, waiting for Pt2.
Thank you so much for playing my game and for believing it has potential! 🥲 It really means a lot to me, especially since this is one of my early projects as a developer. I wish I had more time to bring the game closer to what I originally envisioned, but your comment motivates me to keep improving it. I'll do my best to make Part 2 even better. Thank you for looking forward to it! ❤️
