Myst brings back memories! It definitely has that kind of vibe. A puzzle-adventure like this seems pretty cool.
However, I ran out of cores along the way, and the message got hidden behind the button, so I wasn't sure what to do next.
Also, it might be more comfortable if the sound effect for the dialogue window was a bit different.
