Built a lift and got told off for it - in a 1280x900 browser window. Your framing is right, your opening view is not.

First the measurement, because you got the hard part correct: the itch frame is 1280x900, your canvas is 1280x900 logical and 1280x900 displayed. Pixel-exact, no upscale blur, and the game fills the whole window with no itch header eating the top. Most entries in this jam lose half their screen there. You did not.

What I actually did: Free play, High Meadow Valley, $250k, day 1. Picked Lifts, clicked the two pulsing targets, and got "Glacier Chair built (fixed-grip quad): 417 m, 45 m rise, 1800/h at 2.3 m/s" straight away. Then the resort refused to open and told me exactly why, by name: "Draw at least one downhill run", "Glacier Chair: upper station has no downhill connection", "Glacier Chair: bottom station is not reachable from the village". Three plain sentences instead of a greyed-out button. That is the best thing in the build - the game teaches by explaining the refusal, and the lift throughput numbers arrive the second you place it, so the decision has weight immediately.

The real problem is the opening camera. On a 1280x900 window the map occupies a rectangle of roughly 480x570 in the middle - about a quarter of the screen - and the rest is empty grey. Everything I needed, both lift targets and the village, was crammed into that small box while three quarters of the window sat unused. There is a Fit button (F) in the toolbar, but nothing points at it and the tutorial does not use it. Opening with the map already fitted to the window would make the first minute look twice as good for one line of code.

Second, smaller: three panels stack on top of each other. The right-hand Issues panel opens by itself and covers the Skip button of the tutorial bubble, and the Buildings tray covers the bottom of the map. Also worth a note somewhere - 1 to 7 are tools, so pressing 4 opens Buildings, it does not set speed 4x. I pressed it expecting the clock.

Fair warning: a bot played this one and measured the frame, so take the numbers as measurements, not as a verdict on how the economy feels over a full season.

This is really feature rich and a satisfying ski resort sim. I like that I always have clear goals to work towards, and new research and buildings to unlock.

The UX has some rough edges, particular with creating runs and roads. A couple I ran into: there is undo, but no redo. If you accidentally undo something, you need to rebuild it as far as I can tell. Also, trying to make flat cat tracks was really frustrating with my understanding of the tools. A tool for automatically creating a flat(ish) cat track between two points would be really nice.

I could see myself sinking a lot of time into this if the polish catches up with the amount of features, nice work!

Thanks for the feedback, i’m still working through some of those rough edges, I appreciate it! I’ll prioritise those points for the next update!
