Fun game! I only played single-player, so I couldn’t try the co-op, but I think that’s where it could really shine. The simple controls and auto-firing weapons seem perfect for a chaotic session with friends, where nobody needs long to get into it.
Even solo it was fun. I played the melee start on Easy, and my main feedback is about the pacing of the progression. For quite a while it felt like I wasn’t getting stronger, and then suddenly I got a very big jump in power all at once. Spreading that out into smaller steps could make the early part of a run feel more rewarding and the power curve smoother. I only tested one weapon type on one difficulty though, so it might feel different with the other starts.
Looking forward to trying the multiplayer at some point!
Thank you for the feedback! I'm happy to hear you like it. Do you happen to remember what upgrade made yousuddenly power-spike?
I don't know exaclty what it said but it was somtehing like: 400% more x. That seemed a bit high and I had the experience, that i thought it gets really tough, then came the update and after that it was way less difficult. Sorry for not being more specific
Thank you, then I know what caused your experience! I will look into it!
I have to say the game is fun; it’s clearly inspired by *Vampire Survivors* in terms of mechanics, but these have been interpreted differently—or rather, evolved. I liked the upgrades you chose—they make a lot of sense (which isn't always a given). Overall, it’s a solid, well-made game.
On the downside: the graphics are perhaps a bit too simple and flat, and there’s no magnetism at all when it comes to collecting the XP gems.
Thank you for your feedback! I'm happy ita solid and that the upgrades make sense.
I've had the graphics appeal as feedback before and will likely do some changes to make it more visually appealing.
Regarding XP magnetism, do you mean they're not mechanically drawn to the player character correctly or that there is no intuitive incentive to pick them up?
I think the magnetism on gems can be a good comodity
Like blobs and survival so nice name, let try
I really enjoyed this one. The gameplay is simple to understand, the menus are clear, and the progression feels well balanced.
What I liked the most was how the game handles difficulty. I've played quite a few survival games where enemies eventually become so overwhelming that escaping feels almost impossible. Here, even when the screen starts filling with enemies, you still have enough mobility to dodge, maneuver, and survive if you pay attention. It kept me engaged and wanting to continue.
I also loved the dash ability! It's a really fun addition to this type of game. The upgrades stayed interesting throughout my run, and the boss was a nice challenge. I eventually lost, but it felt like a fair fight.
A couple of suggestions: since the characters are blobs, I'd love to see more fluid, squishy animations for both the player and enemies. I think that would give them a lot more personality. A little more context about the world and what we're fighting could also make the experience more memorable.
I also encountered a possible bug where my character got stuck against the upper edge of the screen and couldn't move away. I restarted and continued playing.
I only tested single-player, so I can't comment on the multiplayer experience.
Overall, a really fun and well-balanced survival game. Easy to pick up, challenging enough to stay interesting, and definitely worth playing again.
5/5. Great work!
Thank you for your detailed review AureBL!
I take note of your appreciation of how balanced it is - it was maybe the most challenging thing for me to achieve!
Thank you for the bug report. I'm quite sure I have fixed it now, as it was a known shortcoming.
As for the personality and context of the game, you're so right! I've spent zero energy on lore building, and minimal energy on giving it that distinct, memorable feeling. I will reflect upon that, and maybe add some squishiness soon. I think the context will have to wait a little though - it requires a lot more from me to do world building at this stage in time.
Again, thank you for your feeback!
Great! The game is already really fun, and I genuinely enjoyed it. I'll definitely come back later to see how it's evolved!
Nice game mechanics, remind me of brotato
Havent played it, will try! Thanks for trying it out!
