IMMUNKA [Windows alpha] — are upgrades clear, and do you want a second run?

Game Title: IMMUNKA

Playable Link: https://immunka-dev.itch.io/immunka

Platform: Windows PC (downloadable ZIP).

Build: Alpha 0.4.2, playable now.

Involvement: We're the team developing the game.

IMMUNKA is a 2D survivor roguelite inside the human body. You dodge cartoon viruses and bacteria, combine weapons and upgrades, and move through organ arenas toward bosses and Sepsis. Attacks are automatic; you control movement, dash and a hero ability. The alpha supports English and Russian, with offline solo play.

We're looking for first-play feedback on version 0.4.2. Please try 15–20 minutes and tell us:

1. Where did you first feel unsure what to do, especially when a wave ended?

2. Which upgrade noticeably changed your run? Was any choice hard to understand?

3. Would you start another run? What made you stop or keep playing?

You don't need to finish the game. A short reply about one confusing moment is useful. If you report a bug, please include your hero, organ, version and what happened; a screenshot helps.

The Linux build is experimental and available separately, together with a Windows mirror:

Balance, UI and co-op are still being tested. We use AI-assisted tools for some artwork, code and text; there is no online generation during gameplay.

OMG! We are making 2 very similar games!!! But then each one of us goes into a different genre.

Since we are both in the immune system, let's test each other's games. I'd love to test your game, but can you make it playable in the browser? Asking testers to download an. exe file creates friction; it will reduce your overall tester count

Hey! Haha, fellow immune-system devs  I’d love to try your game too!

You’re right about the download adding friction, thanks for pointing that out. Right now we have a downloadable alpha, but a browser build would make it much easier for people to jump in and try it. Definitely something to look into.

Really curious to see how we’ve taken the same setting in different directions!

Just ping me when the browser version is ready, and I'd be happy to drive-test it, and I'd do my best to answer your 3 questions

My game leans more on the educational side. I want to show what happens in real life. Here you go. Would love to hear your opinion for sure https://sardira.itch.io/cell-cleanup

Oh cool! You already uploaded. Ok here is my honest review: The game is hard. Super hard. I didn't play VS, but I played Goobies. One of my fav games. But this one is way harder than that. The room is small. The enemies are as fast as I am.  So I have no room to maneuver around them. Healing is almost nonexistent.
I liked the theme. It seems I'm fascinated by biology. You represented the body very well. Macrophages, neutrophils, T, B... etc. And the abilities are very good and in sync. Antibodies... etc.
I played several times. But the options felt so limited. Like 5, maybe. That made the runs very similar. Consider where Goobies gave you maybe like 30, so not every run is the same

I lost so many times, and maybe the furthest I got was level 6. I for myself don't like the cartoonish look. The animation felt clunky. But the controls are good. So there is a mismatch in the brain!

I hope my feedback is useful to you! Best of luck!

Thanks for giving it several tries and writing all this up! Really glad the biology and abilities landed for you

The cramped rooms, enemy speed and lack of healing give us clear things to review in the opening waves. The upgrade variety point matters too — we want different runs to lead to different builds. We’ll also look closer at the animation feel

Which heroes did you try, and was this in the browser build? Also, by level 6, do you mean your character level or the sixth wave?

Really appreciate the honest feedback 🙌

Glad it helped. 6th wave. I tried Macrophage at first (because it is the playable unit in my game!) Then I gave up; melee is just too dangerous. I switched to the plasma cell. Range is a hack!

The human-body setting gives IMMUNKA an interesting hook! I develop games at Capricorn Studioz, and upgrade clarity is something I pay attention to. Do upgrade choices show how they affect your current weapon or ability before you select them? That’s one thing I’d look for in a first run, especially when deciding which combinations to try next.

Thanks! Yes — weapon upgrades show current → next-level damage, attack rate and range before you pick. Item cards show stack changes and affected stats, with gains and losses highlighted. The “i” button opens the fuller details

Ability interactions are explained too, but we don’t have a complete numerical before/after preview for every ability effect yet. If you try a run, I’d love to know which choice still feels unclear

A survivor-like inside the human body is a great setting. Something is keeping players from finding IMMUNKA on itch, and that means fewer first runs and less feedback to shape the alpha.
