Thanks I appreciate the positive feed back!
Given the 1 month to build this. I honestly spent too much of my build time working on the 3D modeling. I should have scoped better and the tasks I would only need for a prototype so that I could fit more content and feed back into the game such as why the adventurer died or succeeded and how their equipment did for them while then revealing the defected items and their negative traits. Then possible stations for deconstructing armor or examining certain things. I was initially going to add elemental attributes and elemental based quests where a fire sword would do poorly in a water temple as an example. But I cut that from my scope once I saw the reality of the time I had left after finishing the initial models.
But its a learning process and I love to learn and improve upon myself for this and future projects to come :)
I was a little lost playing this, took a while to get my bearings.
Sorry about that! That is my fault for not putting a tutorial or describing what the player should be doing outside of basic controls. Ill be keeping this in mind for future builds and projects.
Thanks for informing me and the feed back! I much appreciate it and will use it to grow more as a developer going forwards!
The game looks good but I tried playing on my phone but it didn’t even complete loading screen so I taught it was network so I exit the game page and tried again still it didn’t load so I couldn’t play Also the description doesn’t say anything about the game so atleast add that in description so og someone can’t play atleast they can read about it
My apologies about that. The HTML5 build does not do the loading time any favours unfortunately. From my testing it should only take about 5-7 seconds for the first time when tapping on mobile mode (Samsung Galaxy 22s on chromium with accelerated graphics on).
In all honesty I did not even think about that since I figured it would be obtainable within the build itself. Again I am sorry you had to experience that! I am unsure if I am allowed to update it since the publishing period is over and its not a game breaking bug :(
Thank you for the feed back. I much appreciate it! I'll keep this in mind for future builds and projects!
Fun, slightly evil premise: you profit off adventurers and their survival is a line on your balance sheet. The candle-lit wooden shop has a cozy feel, and it's great that you offer both a PC and a mobile control scheme. On Day 1 with 500 gold I browsed the merchant's stall (Iron Sword 50 G, Simple Pants, Ragged Robes, Tunic), picked up an Iron Sword, and then the first adventurer, Gideon Vane, walked in with his ATK/DEF/HP shown above his head. Seeing his stats right there makes the "how little can I give him and still have him come back" decision feel immediate. Nice work getting a 3D Godot game running in the browser for a jam.
Thanks I appreciate the positive feedback and glad you enjoyed what there was to enjoy from it! :)
I should have added some more clarity to stats and emphasized better that the Shady dealer's items have chances to give defects such as 0%, -10%, -20%, -30%, -40%, -50%. Though the stats above the adventurers are only based on their base stats and the item's base stats and not the hidden defects as to keep them hidden. Another shrewd technique is to steal any gear they walk in with if you can afford a death or 2 or to send them on a doable quest.
If I continue development on this project I will for sure add more clarity and details such as how the adventurers did aside from living or dying and seeing direct item stats and names when held.
Nice game! I found the concept really unique, but it was a bit confusing figuring out which adventurers are/will be strong enough to tackle on which quest. I had to go through a trial-and-error process!
good game, glad you made both mobile and pc support! hope you keep up dev work on it after the jam!
I like the music and the presentation maybe a tutorial level would be nice because it was confusing to start
My apologies about that. I may have poorly explained the rules and task of the game. I will work on that in future projects.
Though my other issue is I ran out of time to add further content such as a proper tutorial level.
Thank you for your feed back! It is much appreciated and I will use it to grow more as a developer going forwards!
It sounded good, I just wasnt entirely sure what I was meant to do once I started a day
Couldn't figure out how to shop on the merchant phase? I did like the music, theme and the art was very mood-setting!
That is very odd indeed! I tested it in the browser on both PC and my phone before submitting, and everything was working fine. Now, only the PC browser version seems broken, though it still runs perfectly fine within my editor.
I suspect it might be an HTML5 export quirk or some sudden hosting interference, so I'm digging into what's causing it. Thank you so much for the constructive feedback and for letting me know—I really appreciate it!
My deepest apologize it seemed to have been a bug introduced from HTML5 due to the screen locking mechanic. There was no direct fix for it so I had to redo it as a 3D button and use ray casting versus the cursor position.
If you wish to retry and rerate/comment whether its for the better or worse. You are more than welcome to now :)
