Design Statement
Listening to the track, I heard a small journey: a quiet opening that slowly swells, then settles into something warm, like arriving somewhere safe. I turned that shape into a paper boat carrying a single light down a dark river.

My key design choices follow the music. The game lasts exactly one full listen, in three movements - Hush, Swell, Home - and the world brightens as the track swells. There is only one input: hold to rise, release to sink, so anyone can play and nobody can fail. Rocks do not punish; brushing one only dims your light for a moment, because the track never feels like a threat. Sparks reward gentle attention, and at dawn you can save your arrival as a postcard - a small keepsake, like the feeling the music leaves behind.

Game Instructions (launch steps, controls, and gameplay overview)
How to launch: Press Play on this page and click Begin the drift - the game runs in your browser, no download or installation needed. Sound on is recommended, the music is part of the experience.

Controls: Hold anywhere (mouse or touch), or hold the Space key, to rise on warm currents. Release to sink.

Gameplay overview: You are a tiny paper boat carrying one small light down a dark river, for exactly one full listen of the theme track, in three movements: Hush, Swell, Home. Gather golden sparks to feed your light, and drift past the rocks - brushing a rock only dims your glow for a moment, there is no way to lose. Reach home by dawn, and save your arrival as a postcard.

Did your project use any AI tools or assets? If yes, please specify.
Yes. This game was created with AI assistance. The game's code, visuals, and text were generated with Muse (by Meta), directed and curated by the developer, Sabah. The theme music is not AI-generated - it is the official thatgamejam #02 theme track by Jason Grace, used unmodified.
