Ha, I take it you've figured out the answer then, but yes it is. And Mezz, in the right frame of mind, likes the smell of a hyena. He does NOT like the smell of what they seem to think passes for "perfume," under any circumstances.

I didn't understand the gist of the question from ughjenkins, which final boss are we talking about? In CS or GT? What kind of consequence are we talking about? Are there multiple endings in CS? I thought the game was straightforward. And how did I understand that cologne /perfume /the smell of hyenas is a new way of hypnosis for Mezz?
I'm interested anyway, and I'm not really afraid of spoilers, but if you think so, then I won't try to persuade you. But I didn't get an answer to the question about the endings in the first chapter, I know that there are two variations of the final ending, but will this somehow affect the second chapter?
