this game is way too hard make some easier levels at first
Edit: okay you need more than one sentence:
Put the easier levels at the beginning. After reading the comments, I'm seeing a lot of people warded off by the first few levels, despite one saying the later ones are easier.
If the levels at the very beginning are way too hard and look impossible, what do players think is still left in the game other than hard rage impossible puzzles? Or you could, at the very least, add star difficulties.
I know it's in the order of creation, but you need to put it in order of difficulty instead as to not ward off players, and also maybe get more playtesting for the harder ones and make there a tiny clue as to how to beat it.
Adding onto that, you need a much better audio experience. You need some music, maybe a move sound effect, and an eat sound effect. If you used Godot and put music on autoplay, I think Google and other browsers don't allow that, so you will have to play it with code.
Trust me, once you add this stuff, average playtime might double, or triple, or whatever you think is gonna happen.

Four Petal Sun is a short and wholesome point-and-click story game made in a week for a school project with some updates coming after. If you like short stories or you're too lazy to play a skilled game, give Four Petal Sun a try.
(I've advertised this game a couple times if anyone's getting annoyed I can stop if you guys want lol I just seeing how many people will play)
so basically you would be a character that would be going through rooms and making scripts to do things like disable cameras, activate/deactivate alarms, turn off guard machines, and stuff like that, and its 2 player (with 1 player support) because i always imagined one person doing the hacking and one person fighting off enemies for the other person so they can code.
Godot exports web files, so maybe you should make a web version that you put in there just so people can try maybe like a demo that lets you try the main part of the game but if you want the full version you gotta download it but you can test on web. Never played the game so if im just dumb thats why.
Cool idea tho huh

This may or may not be the last time I advertise this game through this forum, cuz I got some of the players I wanted.
Four Petal Sun is a short wholesome point-and-click story game about a flower that wants to see the sun. It's free, and available on your web browser, Windows, Linux, and Mac (I've never touched a Mac tho so tell me if it works)
If you like short wholesome stories, point-and-click games, or you're too lazy to buy or play a skilled game, you should try Four Petal Sun.

Okay so basically I'm making a game in Python using PyGame about coding with Python. Its a pixel game but also not a pixel game because the characters are made of text and also the terminal looks particularly non-pixelated. Its a 2 player game.
How much would you guys pay for a gane like this? Would you guys even play it for free?
Edit: YO GUYS im entering this game idea into a competition for my school so that i can see if i can win.
Here's my pitch:
Coderoneous is a coding game where you use the coding language Python to navigate through a computer with the goal of saving your computer city, function(), from a virus called 00WERK674.
In Coderoneous, you don’t learn through quizzes and questions disguised as a game, you learn by actually doing. You hack your way through rooms using functions to disable cameras, open doors, activate/deactivate alarms, delete robot security guards, and whatever your mind can think of; the terminal is yours to explore.
It can be played either solo or with a friend to protect you, with one person coding and another defending the coder with script-based attacks to stall enemies.
You start with simple guided commands in the beginning levels to full on professional-level scripting puzzles during the final levels of the game.
The terminal, the main way of progressing in the game, directly executes Python code in a safe environment, only permitting certain necessary and safe-to-run commands and built-in functions for some of the tasks you need to complete.
In the end, Coderoneous is a game where you learn to code to save the city of function()—and the rest of the world—from the dangerous virus called 00WERK674.
Aw thank you so much!
Knowing that people like my game (and made FANART for it I GOT FANART YAY) makes me feel so good.
You being able to repeat the tasks was something I noticed too, but I left it just in case someone needed to reread something.
Also the way you expected it to turn into a horror game is funny because when I originally came up with the idea, I was like, "I want it to look really scary and look like a horror game but no jumpscares ever end up happening and it just has a happy ending," and mission accomplished lol
I was also showing my family the game, when my dad scrolled down and saw this and he's like, "who's this?" And I was like, "Yo someone played my game!" And he clicked into the post and saw the fanart (which looks like a masterpiece) and started freaking out over it my sister was like"YOU HAVE A FANDOM" it was so funny
And, yeah, thanks for playing it means a lot to me. :)
Yo guys, im Wawa, a kid that loves smiley faces and video games pretty much more than anything else. I recently made a game for a school project that ive been spammin for people to try lol, but usually i make games alone or with my sister.
I am very, very new to itch.io.
One day I wanna make a game engine of my own, a coding language (low end and high end version), an OS, and a community of people that play my games. Everythinv that I make prioritizes fun more than anything else. Many game engines, OSes, and coding languages just look bland by default. I want to change that with characters, animations, colors, and ways for everyone to make worlds of their very own, in the most fun way possible.
now that im done daydreaming about my future, here's the flower game I've been spamming around TwT

A short story game about a flower that wants to see the sun. If you like short and wholesome stories or point and click games, try it out.

A couple days ago I released a game called Four Petal Sun for my school project, and I want it to be seen by more people. It's a short wholesome story about a flower with only four petals that wants to see the sun. If you like short stories or point and click games, you should consider giving this a try. This game got a little popular on Newgrounds because I'm so cool, but I want some itch.io users to see my game as well.
