i know this is based off your fear of making up lies but i just wanna take a second to appreciate the premium quality bullshit we can make up with conviction instead of being forced into awkward conversation lines

great game. i think the people saying the game was enjoyable because of who we're killing are missing the point. i feel like this game asks you its question at the very end.
presented right after:
"i have a kid in the house".
the question of the game is not "will you kill him or not", it forces you to evaluate the lives of the victims or the child barely a room away. "if i leave now... i'm just as bad as he is.", this quote cemented the idea for me.
by opting out, if future victims emerge, our protagonist will bare responsibility for them indirectly.
by committing, our protagonist ruins a child's life and turns into a murderer directly.
playing a game this short yet deep, with a shallow mindset removes all its value in my opinion. in the end, i did pull the trigger.
I finished the game and had to sit with everything it gave, its engaging. it took me till halfway through the game to realize there were no quotes around Mairi's words. i also found it funny that as a human reader you also dont expect that Mairi plans to kill us out of distrust. it compliments their relationship dynamic that Amelia's outburst about Mairi feeling like a task is applicable even without Mairi being a fish, the thing she was fearful of Amelia focusing on. she just treated her like a human, ironically. i like how relatively fast she accepted the situation, that not only do mermaids exist, she took one home and has to nurse her. it has something to do with Amelia's lonely life and its a fitting reaction. i feel like some writers would've added a whole denial section despite the character.
i forgot to save and go through each ending, or it wasn't on my mind at all, regardless, i actually like it that way.
