Hello, wonderful people! This was a group effort on behalf of The AAA Indies. (We need a logo! I gotta get on that.)
The incomparable AK Sommerville did the coding
hachitomo did the art
And I did the music!
Making games with these two is always a blast, and I hope you enjoy! PS -- all the cats are based off our real life cats, as evidenced by Binx in my avatar.

This feels so calm! What I think? Is the Tibetian singing bowl? Is *just* off pitch enough that it throws me off, but it's not a deal breaker. It's not really giving airport for me, but that's also okay. I feel like I could fall asleep to this music, and that's a compliment, because I'm allergic to sleep. Nice job.
Ten seconds in and I can already tell this was composed with Logic. :P
I love the later tension with some of the notes, how it starts off sort and you introduce things here and there, but then that tension with the minor seconds is really nice. I agree that it's too long, but sometimes a piece just wants to be long, and I can respect that. Nice work.
Thank you so much!
While Sommerville is a (very) seasoned coder, this was our first jam as a team where hachitomo did the coding and I did the music. So it was a massive learning experience for all of us. (The group Discord chat was EPIC.)
Also, thank you a TON, literally, for the music tips. The first piece I wrote was the main theme, which does eventually switch progressions but I doubt anybody spends that long on the main screen. I had originally thought that would be the level music, but they decided on that for the menu and needed new level music. Hence me breaking out the violin to try and spice things up! Perhaps I’ll modulate to a relative key in the future if I don’t want something dramatic that takes away from the scene. The victory scene music started off as some sort of odd Monster Mash like thing, and I’m still surprised they put it in. I’d cut that one first and make something new.
I’m also still getting re-used to my DAW (literally made this on Logic for iPad) so some of this was experimentation on my part. The SFX were literally recorded on my iPhone and then mixed. I literally cannot wait for the next jam where we can make some new cool stuff. I’m looking forward to what you do next as well!
I actually really liked this!
I am going to presume you did all the music and SFX for this game. The music was very well written and mixed! But it felt too busy for a sudoku game; I found myself too distracted by the music to focus on the numbers sometimes! There was a section in the middle that was more subdued; I wish that could have been the music the whole time.
The squeaky sound effect of the witch is too loud; I don't mind it, but it hurt my ears in my headphones. Art is adorkable. Puzzles are good, ended up doing one of the easy ones.
It was hard to get through the controls of this game and around the vines to start. Once I got to the other side of the gate, the game froze, so I wasn't able to play much else. The dialogue was a very nice touch but needs some editing; I can still hear mouse clicks and such.
Not sure who composed the music, sadly. I love the idea of the interactive synth, but tonality is lacking in between the music and the synths, which causes some dissonance. In addition, the synths are very peaky and could benefit from a nice EQ mix to not be super overt. I honestly think that aspect of the game is so cool, having the synths change as you move, and I want to see more of this.
The music is really subtle in the background and has the same motif that repeats over and over again. I liked it, but I could see this getting stuck in someone's head. It might be in my head at three in the morning now. The sound effects were really good, though I couldn't figure out the difference between the two magic blips. Once I got the hang of the controls, I really liked this!
I wish this game was longer to match its epic soundtrack! I feel like this could be the very very start of something really cool. I also wish I had a chance to properly listen to the main theme all the way through. It did freeze on us once and we got to listen to a lot of it, and what I remember hearing was very good.
The dialogue screen music sets the tone perfectly, and I love the written dialogue that goes with it. The music file clips when it hits the loop; not sure if that's a DAW or a coding issue (I'm gonna say coding). I might put the organs a little lower into the mix; they were very strong for me.
I think the ending theme is a slight remix of the main theme, which was beautiful and very well mixed.
The controls feel slightly clunky to someone who doesn't play games regularly (that's me), and I actually didn't like any of the sound effects, to be honest. But the artwork was amazing and made this little game super unique. I look forward to more things like this and will definitely be following this dev.
