I would advise never downloading this: https://horror-dave.itch.io/love-in-concrete
It is seemingly stolen from here (or masquerading as): https://noxiusvi.itch.io/love-in-concrete
best guess is its malicous? why else would someone do this AND disable comments?
if i am mistaken or unjustified im keen to learn.
that is lens distortion set to fade in and out im gonna disable it today, funnily enough.. its been on my mind.
good call. (ill use a slider for it, eventually i want to allow user to automate this stuff for themselves using controls)
originally i had a lot of stuff happening automatically but as i go im finding i dont need it all to create variety.
ngl lowkey its been annoyong me also (although i do kinda like it)
also i will find a way to hide edges with twirl. thats on the list.
thanks for the feedback im really happy its beem useful. and thank you for overlooking the shortcomings and understanding the context here.
after 6 years of it i have no rage left in my body. actually 100 percent happy. software is not perfect, sales are infrequent.
but i can look at what little experiments ive made and feel joy. i am the boss of it. i can make game engine do wild and amusing things that please me greatly. using my imagination. there are no real conflicts or barriers left.
didnt think this day would come.
dont give up, beginner game dev soldiers. there IS hope. It just arrives on its own terms. good luck and peaceful energy to all of you. your own brand of zen is waiting for you.
this place and the community has been my sanctuary. there is an unimaginable amount of human endevour & imagination happening here every day. yet it is calm and sensible. it is energy that cant be described. thank you to all of you. i was truly in rage at programming and machines lol. idk why.
we really are in the midst of it.
how do you feel? and what has changed for you?
if anyone is truly lost im willing to help :)
im glad the updates havent been overwhelming. ive been doing this in waves of inspiration, trying to just make it up myself from my imagination as a proramming experiment (i dont know how visualisers are conventionally made, im just trying to follow my instincts). I feel that more than ever releases deserve a Linux version. It is the most respectful and viable OS and i want to honour that.
If you need any help or want anything added to the software, im happy to try.
Thanks for the comment, im inspired to go back and find the focus to make linux builds of previous projects.
i tried it out. i love the design.
i noticed if i scale ui up completely some parts become (neatly) hidden. it was a little confusing as it prevented me from seeing the tune horse button. however.. i worked this out eventually.
i like the nostalgic ui and vibe. looking forward to playing more.
im impressed by your effort here. the game looks like it has real depth. and the ui is lush.
also like how it is presented in a way anyone could admire, not just gamers. it really conjours up a great feeling for me.
your game is quite neat. no lags or akward movement. i think you did well to choose small project to learn.
i used https://opengameart.org/ when i needed assets as i learned. its got a nice community.
keep going, you are up to 1980s arcade style gameplay with your project. good acheivement.
