Unfortunately I wasnt able to complete my game and I have a lot more to code and I got some stuff to do today so I probably wont be able to submit but it was incredibly fun making a game on my own and making my own assets and learning how to make different mechanics. But it is sad I wont be able to complete my game but at least I made some progress in my first game jam

I got some pics of my stuff

Since this is my first game jam my idea was something like No, Im not a human where you can either trust them and let them in or dont trust them at all and let them leave. But instead of those 2 options it is either you let them go or you shoot them

Yeah I got my idea already and it came not from brainstorming but from just walking around and also remembering a game which was similar to the topic.

while making my game and looking more and more like a raisin every day. It's kind of rewarding when I finish even one single asset. The gdscript tho umm yeah I suck had to look at multiple tutorials and got stuck when trying to fix something so I did have to ask ai wtf was wrong with it. I dont like using ai and prevented using it and only used it for the scripts if I couldnt fix it or made it worse because the nodes were explainable but yeah still used it but its fun finally making a mechanic finally work.

Been doing great for my first game jam!  of course, making assets is tiring but its quite fun

It isn't really. Tho it seems brutal for once per 5 levels. It really isn't because even if you die on the first level you can know how to beat it immediately or maybe after a few tries. The thing is if you add a checkpoint right after that it's the same thing as it doesn't really become a challenge at all as every level is the basic trial and error and is quite easy, but if you do multiple checkpoints after maybe 3-5 levels if you want to be more forgiving, then it gives a sort of challenge and makes it more fun. (Damn that's long and btw if you think 5 is too much then do 3 since it still gives challenge)

Dont put checkpoints every level maybe you could add a checkpoint once per maybe 5-10 levels since it won't be hard if the checkpoint is on every level. I personally think that 5 is a good spot for check points since you want it to be challenging but not piss people off too much.

Ok ngl the theme for my first game game was hard... for about five hours till I got an idea and then boom this aight.

AY dw man you dont have to think of a completely original idea and you can just add a twist to it and even if you didnt use all your time and are quite busy you could make a short game like me! I just started making games!

Alright I don't mind that. Thx for the advice!

You could look at different games that involve trusting someone or not and make a twist? for me I just thought of it while taking a dump. the idea kind of appears after a bit.

Oh yeah I have a game in mind already and im working on it all I need is to find out how to do this and that cause I have a certain mechanic I got no clue how to do it and im still looking for a way to make thatmechanic. Im just questioning if I should use ai to find out or just yknow find out on my own or pray to the game making gods there is a tutorial

This might be the most fun but also most exhausting experience i have ever had and I'm so tired just trying to learn what to put in my scripts and at this point I'm stuck and can't find the answer to something in my game and tried to alter code but didn't work so... Should I ask ai for help on what to do or pray to find it from a random guy.

I am not sure if participating is good cause I barely even know how to use Godot and I only know how to do pixel art and I am nervous.
