Quick FAQ

• 408 sounds: Menu Kit (200), Sci-Fi (104) and Horror (104), all on the same 14 UI events.

• How were the sounds made? They're synthesised with procedural DSP, not recorded. I used AI assistance for the scripts and the page text.

• Engines: Godot & Unity helper scripts are included. The WAV and OGG files work anywhere.

Free UI sounds for menus: PulseLite free sample, 20 sounds (CC BY 4.0) plus a Godot 4 script (MIT) that adds hover and click sounds to every button in one line. There's a browser demo on the page. The sounds are synthesized in code (procedural DSP, no AI audio); the script and docs were written with AI assistance. https://bigshadex.itch.io/pulselite-ui-sfx-free

Thanks, that's really useful. There's a short preview video near the top of the page already, but it's mostly the sounds played over the menu demo rather than real in-game footage, so I'll take that as a sign it needs proper in-game examples and a clearer list of what's included. Did the video stand out to you when you opened the page, or did it get lost?

Great one, thanks. Stacked sounds on the same frame is probably the most common cause of "mushy" menus, and it's easy to miss because each sound is fine on its own. One event, one sound is going straight into the list.

I make PulseLite, a set of UI and menu sound effects. The free 20-sound sample (CC BY 4.0 sounds, MIT Godot script) is here: https://bigshadex.itch.io/pulselite-ui-sfx-free

It gets about 1,750 impressions a week in browse, but only 0.8% click through. I'd love blunt feedback:

1) Does the cover tell you it's audio for menus?

2) Is the short description clear?

3) On the page, can you tell within 5 seconds what you get and how to try it?

Notes: the sounds are procedural DSP (synthesised in code, not AI audio). The Godot script and page text were written with AI help, and the page's AI disclosure says so.

Thanks, that's a really useful fifth check. Agreed on the hover/confirm gap: if hover is close in level to confirm, fast scrolling buries the one cue that matters. A falling pitch for "error" is a nice trick too, since it reads as "no" even with the screen out of view. Good luck with your set!

Hi all, I'm Russ (Bigshadex). I built one workbook for clients, projects, invoices, part payments and follow-up reminders.

The dashboard shows money owed, overdue, paid in the last 30 days, follow-ups due and a 12-month payments chart. Invoice status (Draft/Open/Part paid/Overdue/Paid) works itself out, and follow-ups are colour-coded. It works in Excel 2019+, Google Sheets and LibreOffice, no macros, any currency.

Honest note: the design and formulas were built with AI assistance, and the key calculations are checked by automated tests. The screenshots use made-up data.

There's a free view-only preview sheet linked on the page.

Hi all! Free 20 UI sounds + OGG for web builds, to give your menus, pause screen and inventory a bit of polish: cursor, confirm, cancel, error buzz, menu open/close, pickup, reward and level-up.

Free pack: https://bigshadex.itch.io/pulselite-ui-sfx-free

Hear them all in your browser first: https://bigshadex.github.io/pulselite-previewer/

Disclosure, since the jam asks for it: the sounds are procedural DSP synthesis, not generative AI (oscillators, filters and noise in code; no samples, no AI audio models). The store pages and the optional Godot/Unity helper scripts were written with AI assistance, so if you'd rather avoid that, use only the WAV/OGG files and skip the scripts.

Horror pack $4.99 (104 eerie menu sounds), menu kit 40% off until 30 Oct: https://bigshadex.itch.io/pulselite-horror-ui

Good luck escaping the LOOP!

Before adding more sounds to a menu, check whether the current cues communicate what the player just did.

1. Separate intent. Run the same short sequence twice: hover, select, confirm, back, then an invalid action. Listen for cases where confirm, cancel and error could be confused.

2. Balance repetition. At normal game volume, navigate quickly through several buttons. Hover feedback should remain useful without masking a more important confirmation or error. Check repeated navigation as well as a single click.

3. Test input changes. Repeat with the input methods your project actually supports. Listen for missing or doubled feedback when focus moves; do not assume a mouse-only check covers keyboard or controller navigation.

4. Check credits before shipping. Record each sound's source, licence and required attribution in your project's credits. Free resources can still require credit, and a sample's licence may differ from its larger pack.

Write down one specific confusing action before changing the whole sound set. That gives you something useful to compare on the next pass.

Disclosure: I make the PulseLite UI sound packs; this checklist uses no paid material and can be applied with your own sounds. The text was prepared with AI assistance.

Sims live in their menus, so here are 20 free UI sounds for build menus, toggles, coins and notifications: click, hover, confirm, cancel, error, notify, panel open/close, coin, reward, level-up. WAV + OGG (for web builds):

For the credits/AI disclosure: the sounds are procedural DSP synthesis (code-generated oscillators and noise, no samples, not generative AI). The optional Godot/Unity helper scripts were AI-assisted; skip them if you'd rather not disclose.

Good luck with the sims!

Making the worst game still needs buttons that go "bloop". Here are 20 free UI sounds (click, hover, confirm, cancel, error buzz, menu open/close, coin, reward, level-up) in WAV + OGG for web builds:

https://bigshadex.itch.io/pulselite-ui-sfx-free

Hear them in your browser first: https://bigshadex.github.io/pulselite-previewer/

Honest note: the audio is procedural DSP synthesis (oscillators, filters, noise in code), not generative AI. The optional Godot/Unity helper scripts were written with AI assistance, so if you use them, mention that in your AI disclosure (or just use the WAV/OGG files).

Have fun making it terrible!

Adding a free UI/menu set: PulseLite UI SFX Free Sample. 20 matching sounds for hover, click, confirm, cancel, error, menu open/close, pickup, reward and level-up, in WAV + OGG. CC BY 4.0, so commercial use is fine with credit.

Download: https://bigshadex.itch.io/pulselite-ui-sfx-free

Disclosure: I made it. The sounds are procedural DSP synthesis, not AI-generated audio; the optional helper scripts and page text were AI-assisted. The page also links a larger paid kit, but the free pack stands on its own.

Hi all! If you need menu sounds and don't want to spend jam time on them, here's a free pack of 20 UI sounds: cursor/hover, click, confirm, cancel, error buzz, menu open/close, toggle, coin, reward and level-up. WAV + OGG, works in any engine.
Free pack: https://bigshadex.itch.io/pulselite-ui-sfx-free

On the jam's AI rule: the sounds are procedural DSP synthesis, made with oscillators, filters and noise in code (no samples, no AI audio models). The download also includes an optional Godot helper script that was written with AI help, so for this jam just use the sound files and skip the script.

Also, would you be OK with me listing Recycle Yourself on the PulseLite page under "Made with PulseLite", with a link to your game? No worries at all if not.

Congrats on shipping Recycle Yourself! Thanks for coming back to share it, that really made my day. Good luck in the voting!

Cheers, and thanks for running the jam! Good luck to everyone taking part, I'm looking forward to playing the entries.

Hi all! Since the rules allow non-Synty audio you have the rights to, here's a free set of 20 UI sounds for the menus, pickups and pause screen of your spooky game: cursor, confirm, cancel, error buzz, menu open/close, pickup, reward and level-up. WAV + OGG.

Free pack: https://bigshadex.itch.io/pulselite-ui-sfx-free

On the jam's AI rule: the audio is procedural DSP synthesis, not generative AI (oscillators, filters and noise in code; no samples, no AI audio models). The optional Unity/Godot helper scripts were written with AI help, which the jam lists under allowed AI code tooling; skip them if you'd rather.

Hi all! Free 20 UI sounds + OGG for web builds, aimed at the polish/audio side of your jam game: cursor, confirm, cancel, error buzz, menu open/close, pickup, reward and level-up.

Free pack: https://bigshadex.itch.io/pulselite-ui-sfx-free

Since this jam bans AI-generated assets: the audio is procedural DSP synthesis, not generative AI (built from oscillators, filters and noise in code; no samples, no AI audio models). If your jam bans all AI, use only the WAV/OGG files and skip the scripts.

Hi everyone! If your title screen and menus are still using the default sounds, here are 20 free UI sounds (cursor, OK/confirm, cancel, buzzer/error, menu open/close, item/coin, reward, level up), now with OGG copies so you can drop them straight into your project's audio/se folder:
https://bigshadex.itch.io/pulselite-ui-sfx-free

You can hear them all in the browser first: https://bigshadex.github.io/pulselite-previewer/

For something creepier, PulseLite Horror UI has 104 eerie menu sounds (bone knocks, whisper hovers, rusty latches, warped music-box chimes), also WAV + OGG ($4.99): https://bigshadex.itch.io/pulselite-horror-ui

Disclosure, since the jam asks for it: the sounds are procedural DSP synthesis, not AI-generated audio. The store pages and the optional Godot/Unity helper scripts were written with AI assistance (you won't need those in RPG Maker).

The free sounds are CC BY 4.0, so they're fine for jam and commercial games; just credit "PulseLite UI SFX by Bigshadex". Good luck with your Heaven's Wrath, Dark Streets and Family Secret games!

Hi jammers! If your menus are still silent and you'd rather spend the weekend on your necromancy mechanics, here's a free pack of 20 UI sounds (clicks, hovers, toggles, confirms, back/cancel, errors) as WAV files:
https://bigshadex.itch.io/pulselite-ui-sfx-free

You can hear them all in the browser first: https://bigshadex.github.io/pulselite-previewer/

Want something creepier? PulseLite Horror UI has 104 eerie menu sounds with the same event names ($4.99): https://bigshadex.itch.io/pulselite-horror-ui

Since the rules ask you to declare premade assets, just list them as "PulseLite UI SFX by Bigshadex (CC BY 4.0)" on your submission, which also covers the credit the licence asks for. For transparency: the sounds are procedural DSP synthesis, not AI-generated; the optional Godot helper script and this text had AI assistance, so declare that too if you use the script.

Good luck, and happy haunting!

Hi jammers! If your menus are still silent and you'd rather spend jam hours on the scary stuff, here's a free pack of 20 UI sounds (clicks, hovers, toggles, confirms, back/cancel, errors) as WAV files:
https://bigshadex.itch.io/pulselite-ui-sfx-free

You can hear them all in the browser first: https://bigshadex.github.io/pulselite-previewer/

Going darker? PulseLite Horror UI has 104 eerie menu sounds with the same event names ($4.99): https://bigshadex.itch.io/pulselite-horror-ui

Since the jam rules say no AI-generated content: the sounds are procedural DSP synthesis, not AI-generated. The optional Godot helper script and the page text were written with AI assistance, so just use the WAVs and skip the script if you want to stay strictly within the rule.

Free for jam and commercial use; a credit to "PulseLite UI SFX by Bigshadex" is appreciated (CC BY 4.0 on the free sounds). Good luck, and happy haunting!

So glad it's useful! Good luck with the jam. If you end up using them, drop your game link here, I'd love to hear them in action.

Happy Halloween shift! If your menus still click silently and you don't want to spend jam hours on audio, here's a free pack of 20 UI sounds (clicks, hovers, toggles, confirms, back/cancel, errors, coins, level up) as WAV files. There's a playable menu demo on the page so you can hear them first:
https://bigshadex.itch.io/pulselite-ui-sfx-free

Also includes a small Godot 4 autoload (one-line wire_buttons) and a JSON/CSV event map for other engines. Same pack is on the Godot Asset Store if you prefer one-click install: https://store.godotengine.org/asset/bigshadex/pulselite-ui-sounds-free-button-me...

Commercial use is fine. Credit "PulseLite UI SFX by Bigshadex" is appreciated (CC BY 4.0 on the sounds).

Honest notes: the audio is procedural DSP synthesis, not AI-generated. The helper scripts and page text were written with AI assistance — skip the scripts if your project avoids that.

Good luck with "Out Of Control"!

Hi jammers! If you need menu sounds and don't want to spend jam time on them, I made a free pack of 20 UI sounds (clicks, hovers, toggles, confirms, back/cancel, coins, level up) as WAV files. There's a playable menu demo on the page so you can hear them first:
https://bigshadex.itch.io/pulselite-ui-sfx-free

It also includes a small Godot 4 autoload script that gives every button hover/click sounds in one line, plus a JSON/CSV event map if you use another engine. Commercial use is OK. Free to use in your jam game; a credit to "PulseLite UI SFX by Bigshadex" is appreciated.

Honest notes: the sounds are procedural DSP synthesis, not AI-generated. The helper scripts and page text were written with AI assistance, so skip the scripts if your project avoids that.

Good luck with the jam!

Hi! I just released PulseLite, a UI and game-feedback sound pack built so every sound matches the others: loudness-matched, clean fades, no clicks. Your menus, buttons and rewards sound like one game instead of a pile of downloads.

What's in it

- 200 WAVs (44.1 kHz, 16-bit mono), 13 categories with 15-16 variations each: click, hover, toggle, confirm, back/cancel, error, notify, panel open/close, whoosh, coin, reward, level up

- Loudness-matched within each category, so you can drop them in without editing

- index.csv with length and loudness for every file, plus quick-start notes for Unity, Godot, Unreal and web

Try it first: play the menu demo in your browser and grab 20 of the sounds free for commercial use, no signup: https://bigshadex.itch.io/pulselite-ui-sfx-free

Full pack (200 sounds, commercial license): https://bigshadex.itch.io/pulselite-ui-sfx

Coin, reward and level-up lean chiptune, while clicks, hovers and panels are soft and clean, so they suit mobile, casual and menu-heavy games. Happy to hear which categories you'd want added in an update.
