For me the movement and the difficulty are big reasons why I was engaged (I played until stage 14 and would have continued if i didnt rage quit and lose all my progress...)
During my game time, I haven't felt tired of the curses/blessings and was still trying to play around them to get better, it's a kind of a rare game experience so I loved it.
I think you have something here, and you obviously got more ideas you can play with, im not sure what you mean by the combat arenas but you're already cooking. Anyway whatever you do you guys are talented AF and im glad you're making games

Thank you for playing and the kind words, im glad you liked it 🫶
Yes it was intended that the player should avoid enemies usually, but what I messed up is the enemies and how they patrol, their density, etc...
And for the x2, im really sorry this was a scrapped idea but I forgot to remove this specific door. It was supposed to open when having double digits in the count down, but at the time I only used odd numbers for doors/tiles. So now the x2 door only opens when there is double odd numbers, which is a terrible idea and unintuitive, I apologize if it discouraged you 😣
Pizza 👍
This one was stupidly fun. I'm not sure if this was intentional, but the game gave me nostalgic PS2 era vibes, especially the main menu layout. Even the concept and game play seems right out of early 2000s
I wish you had more time to flesh it out and turn into a full game, I would happily spend hours delivering pizzas to stern scientists. Awesomesauce 🤙
Thank you for playing and for the kind words 🙏
Yup the countdown just indicates which unit is available. The game loop is supposed to be the player asking themselves if it is worth it to reduce X amount of steps to get a certain composition. Because a lot of time it ends up being net positive.
But I have learned, I probably shouldn't make games like this for a game jam. You guys went for the jrpg route too but were so much more graceful and compact with it!
Ah a fellow dungeon crawler enjoyer 🫶
I love the countdown attack i think you nailed that one, it feels very satisfying.
The maze is quite confusing though I spent about five minutes trying to find the path but i got completely lost. But i really am happy i found another dungeon crawler so i gave you bonus points😉
I really love how you let the player figure out the mechanics through trail and error. Exploring and intuiting what all these skills/items was a lot of fun. The art, music and UI, everything is very polished. Amazing that you did all that in four days.
Also this and other games made me realize this is really the perfect experience for a game jam, short bite sized but jammed with fun. Thank you for making this 🙏
Such a good implementation. The graphics and the sounds, they're all perfect. Well done!
I haven't watched the show since it aired but the game really brought back the indistinguishable severance vibe.
My only issue is the game is too intense, 1 minute every round is making me stressed out. I would have really enjoyed to sort these numbers while spacing out or listening to a podcast.
This is very helpful, thank you 🙏
And yes I was originally planning to make it a dungeon crawler + escape the room inspired from zero escape. But thought that would be really hard to make for a game jam. I suppose I almost made three games in one 😅
I did make a puzzle in the upper floor, too bad you missed it. I do appreciate the amount you gave the game though so again thanks 🙏
Love the art and style. Gameplay looks fun, but I exhausted all my resource points and got left with 15 of the wood and 0 bones, and then the second wave came and rekt me :/
If i could ask for features it would be to trade resources even if there some sort of tax. And also to have option to increase speed of game/time.
Overall though amazing work for four days, very polished god damn
