Physical Games are a category on Itch reflecting games you play on a table, as opposed to a video game. And there IS a physical version of this game. Currently you can pick it up from Lulu and RPG-Trader, but soon it’ll be available as an offset print from the Cairn store as well.

That’s awesome!

He’s totally out of his mind. He ties to harm the PCs, staying on the ledge. It is up to them to bring him down unharmed. If they desire.

Most excellent

I would help you debug either version if you give me a temporary license! I was a linux sysadmin for 20 years.

Would also love a Linux version, though a confirmation that it works with WINE or Proton would be just as good!

this is rad

Have at it

This is awesome Bruno! I love Dragon Duel.

The SRD is available on cairnrpg.com and is word for word a match for this PDF. It should be readable with any accessibility reader. The original markdown files are also available on github.

Haha yeah

7-9 is not a real path (just broken trees through the wood). 5-6 is a trail, nothing special. 4-6 is still the deer path, but it’s through a muddy bank.

The path to the northeast from 7 goes to 8 (Pilgrim Path) and the broken path is new, created by the Chitin Knight.

I don’t remember which of these it was:

Unfortunately I haven’t read or played OSW in about… 7 years! So I don’t really remember enough to answer your question!

Sorry about that!

No idea, but the PNGs are available and you can try whatever you like.

This looks awesome. Will a print version be forthcoming?

All of the game files are included here. The CAS are there as well.

Awesome! Thanks so much.

Distressed means the paper looks fuzzy. Letter is is Letter-sized, and Statement… Statement sized.

You can, follow the guide here: https://cairnrpg.com/localization/localization-guide/

However there is already a Russian translation for 2e that is nearly complete, you should reach out to the team doing that.

No, you can already read it on the SRD as plain text.

1e had only 20!

It’s basically Cairn 1e but updated to 2e rules (and there are some differences, albeit minor). The procedures from 2e have also been attached, and the Spellbooks changes. Finally the character generation has been expanded to d100 background with attached items.

The rules and procedures match those in the Cairn Second Edition Player’s Guide, but this version removes the implied setting and structured creation process. It assumes a generic fantasy world, embracing full randomness, much like the original Cairn. It retains full compatibility with Cairn Second Edition adventures but offers an even more minimal, flexible framework for old-school play.

Hey, that’s a good point! Merci!

OK, I think I’ve caught all of the typos. PDFs uploaded. Thanks everyone!

Got it, thanks! Also found one in downtime.

Whoa! Good catch. Will fix.

Sorry, no!

Have you seen these? https://better-legends.itch.io/cairn-2e-tokens-vehicles

Interesting, I never noticed that! I’ll have to fix it.

Grazie

There is a setting for Cairn. It’s called Vald. You can read about it in both 2e books and all 3 first party adventures (so far).

A longer setting guide is coming next year as well.

I’ll make an official pointcrawl conversion and post it somewhere. It’s fun.

I’ll give it a listen! Also, Gregory Peck. Ha!

Of course.

Message me if you want to sell these in the Cairn store!

Yes, definitely

Anyone can translate the game! I’m not involved on any level though. For Russian, Spanish, Italian, etc folks have spoken to the artists about getting rights to the art, or they’ve created their own art.

Haahahahahahaha

You’re not the first to ask! I should do a post on Vald weather. I actually tied the Vald calendar somewhat to the Hebrew calendar.

The actual weather isn’t an analog to the real world; Vald is considerably wet and humid for half the year, then dry and lifeless the other half. Dead is definitely closer to Winter, but not as cold. Dry is like Fall before it snows, but not as cold. Wet is Spring but much, much wetter. And Harvest is like late Summer.
