Really fun puzzle game, with clean graphics! I really liked the RPM mechanics, they added a nice challenge. If you have more time to work on it, some intentional UI elements (menu, buttons, etc) would really help elevate the look of the overall game to match the great gameplay and game art. I also might like some extra time to look at / appreciate my completed level instead of immediately moving to the next level when the goal is achieved (maybe a cute end level animation?). Overall, really great job!

Fun game! I really enjoyed the animations and appreciated the progression. I may have just been bad at it, but I wasn't able to get through level 2 without buying a billion upgrades. I had a tough time going where I wanted with the spinning being so random. I enjoyed it regardless!

Cute game! It felt very polished and complete, and the story was fun to follow. I love playing games with heart. Well done!

Cute game! I played through to get all 3 endings. I appreciate that I met some new characters each time, and that I got to skip lunch on the bad day. I thought the company setting, the dialog and the characters were really cute, and especially liked the character art. If you have time to keep working on the game, it could be cool to have a replay mode where you can choose what happens on the wheel — I played 3 times and never got to see the rival at lunch, and only ever sat on the left side of the office. Great job!

I enjoyed playing! I liked the spin-to-control-gravity mechanic, and had fun figuring out how to get to the end safely. There were a few times I wished I had a turn-180-degrees button (do two turns at once), so it might be nice to add that if you're able to keep working on the game. Well done!

I absolutely adored this game. The gameplay was so clean and I'm impressed by how well you implemented the theme in two different ways. Spinning the narrative was very satisfying and funny, and I loved the ending of spinning my own thoughts. I also appreciate that I was able to play at different levels to make sure I could see different endings. Crazy impressive in the time frame. I may call this a perfect game!

Really cute idea! I wasn't able to get any of my silk added to the spindle — I'm not sure if I was doing it wrong or if it was a bug. I wanted to keep playing though, the art and sound effects were really endearing! Well done!

Fun game! I enjoyed the puzzle mechanics and you did a great job explaining them as they were added. I'd totally play more levels. The sound effects could be more balanced with the music (some were super loud), but otherwise it was perfect!

Very cute! The colors and gear animations were great, and the action of clicking and dragging gears into the field was super satisfying. I could play a long time if there were goals to achieve. Well done!

I absolutely adored the animations! The spinning was so satisfying was VERY serious. It seemed like my upgrades didn't scale as much as the enemy ones — in my last round, the enemy was dealing 15 HP per hit and I was still dealing 5 HP. I also only had 10 HP going into the fight, and he had 50, so I didn't stand a chance. I didn't mind much, because the game was so cute. Great job!

Fun game! I liked the puzzle mechanic and the screen effects (losing ink, getting hungry, etc) that made it more challenging. I was not able to make enough money to keep up with the upgrades I needed — I'd recommend making the upgrades cheaper for balance :) I also tried spinning the luck wheel many times, which may have led to my downfall because I only ever won inspirational quotes or got rest, which was the one stat I didn't need a boost on. Well done overall!

You convinced me to go back and finish it! I got through level 9 this time. I figured out I could rewind time in the middle of a level by spinning the record backwards. Not sure if this was a bug or not, but it made level 9 possible and also added a cool aspect to gameplay, so I'd recommend keeping it :)

I enjoyed it! Submitting any game loop within this time is impressive, let alone a 3D game, so I'm impressed :) I enjoyed the spinning animation and the night sky was really cool to see. Great job!

How do you open the pause menu?

Fun game! The part when you have to keep spinning the record is especially satisfying. If you get the chance to keep working on the game, it could be cool if one of the records was controlled via mouse and the other was controlled with arrow keys, so you'd be able to spin both at once (for an extra challenge). Really well done!

Fun game! The physics were a bit brutal sometimes (no amount of water I sprayed could overcome the momentum of a swinging hose) but I really like the overall mechanics and gameplay.

Fun idea! My experience was pretty buggy — the game got stuck when I tried to go into the (nonexistant) tutorial, and when the godot monster ate my gears. If there were a back/restart button, I could have kept going, but without one I had to reload the page entirely. I also couldn't poison the godot monster no matter how I tried to poison the gears. I think the animations are cute, the colors are great, and with a little more time to knock out the bugs, I'd love to play again.

Fun game! I had a good time once I got the hang of it. I think some of the later levels are nearly impossible within the time frame (I got stuck on level 9), and it could be nice for the main game area to be bigger than the input (the record player), but overall it was fun. I clicked on your game because we have such similar thumbnails (lol), and I'm glad I got to play it! Great job!

Insanely polished and fun. Absolutely loved the animations, the gameplay, and the overall vibe. I could play for ages. I thought the upgrades and bills were quite balanced and satisfying. My only note is that the music was a bit quiet compared to the sound effects, and eventually stopped playing altogether. This game is a real winner!

It felt really polished — I loved the visuals and the sound effects! It might be a skill issue, but I played 6+ times and was not able to beat the first stage. I tried hitting the other player some runs and avoiding the other player in other runs, and neither strategy seemed to work. I'll still rate the game highly, because the game is so clean it feels like it's probably my fault :)

Fun game! I wanted more levels, which is a great problem to have for a game jam :) The whole experience was great — even the song-choosing menu was fun. I only have one small note, which is that I wish the record animation spun in the same direction as the music notes. Great job!

Absolutely incredible. I think this is my favorite game I've played this jam so far. I had a blast with the rhythm game, and the breakdancing was insanely fun to watch. I already loved the game, and didn't expect to save the whole freaking world at the end. I feel like a champion. My only note would be that the transitions (e.g. in the intro and outro of the game) felt very slow. Really great job!

I really liked your game! The mechanics felt smooth, and I appreciated that the health bar was forgiving and refilled over time. I really liked how the up/down jumps aligned with the beat of the song, especially for the first record. If you're able to keep working on the game, it would be cool to have a particular time goal, like needing to beat a certain time to get 3 stars on a level. Great work!

Thanks for explaining! I tried that and was able to finish the game. I had a lot of fun!

Very fun game! Great unique style and the background office noises were very immersive :) It would be nice if there were some hint to stop playing and look around for peeping coworkers, like hearing footsteps, instead of being brought out of the game automatically. It also would be great if time paused while spinning in the chair, to incentivize the spinning mechanic. I really enjoyed playing!

I love the idea of the game! The art is great and immersive. That said, I had a few issues:

  • I wasn't able to get the phone to call anything. I tried rotating the phone to 8, 1, 1, but nothing happening. I don't know if I was using it wrong or if it was bugged. It would be nice to have some audio/visual feedback when using the phone to make it clearer how to use it.
  • I tried setting the fridge to hot to melt out the cogwheel, but nothing happened. Not sure if that's a bug or if there was something else that needed to happen, but it felt like a bug.

I really wish I was able to make more progress, because the game seemed really fun. Great job!

Cool concept! I liked teleporting using the boomerang to get into the small openings — that was a cool mechanic. I found the boomerang a bit hard to control, particularly when trying to hit a moving target (like the boss). It could be nice if it was controlled by the mouse, so I could aim it. It also could be nice if the throw action and teleport action were controlled by different buttons. Fun game!

Fun! I liked the slo-mo mode and the animations were funny. I died on level 2 — for me, it would be helpful if there was a way to get health back mid-level and if the coworkers were worse at shooting me while I'm in the air/moving (they seemed to have crazy good aim). I'm also just bad at these kinds of games, so it might just be me! Overall fun game!

Fun game! I really liked the character intro and animations, and the gameplay was fun. It was really satisfying to be able to upgrade my speed after starting off so slow. One note, I found the first scythe upgrade (autospin) to actually be a downgrade — it was much harder to control, so I ended up reaping the wrong souls and my scores ended up being much lower. It would be nice if that upgrade allowed you to toggle the spin on & off with the x key, for more control. Great job!

Super well done! Solid mechanics, and the tutorial level was really effective. My only constructive feedback would be that the hand grasp animation was a bit inconsistent/distracting — I wish it would have stayed grasped the whole time I was clicking down, but it was glitching between the different hand positions throughout. Really minor nitpick in a really great game!

Fun concept! I found the text pretty hard to read, and it wasn't clear to me how to win (I won a few rounds by accident). I also couldn't figure out how to use my power ups (I tried clicking on them and nothing happened), and the "Quit" button did not quit but broke the game window. Congrats on submitting a full game, I know it's a ton of work!

Love the art, especially the rider and the cityscape! I think the gameplay would be smoother if switching lanes didn't move you forward/backward as well, and if the potholes were more obvious (my eyes hurt after playing a while). It was fun once I got the hang of it! I wasn't sure if there was an end to the demon hand level — I felt like I lasted ages and didn't see one. I liked the music choices as well, and how it changed for the hard level. Good job!

Super fun gameplay! It really captured the fun of pinball — great job with the gravity and mechanics. The art is really cute too. I think this game could benefit from some background music and sound effects (I appreciate the heads up about it in the description — I did check to see if it was broken, haha). I'd recommend opengameart.org for free music :)

Fun game! The art and animations were great, and I especially liked the random shouts ("Take THIS!") while fighting. I also really liked the parallax effect in the background. I have a couple minor notes if you're able to continue working on the game, just to help keep the whole experience immersive: the UI style (e.g. the wheel and health bar) doesn't totally match the art style of the game itself — adjusting it to match the style (pixel art) and/or color palette could really help it feel like one continuous experience. It also add extra immersion to use a unique form of currency, rather than $. Great job!

Mine's very quick :) https://calliopine.itch.io/spin-the-record

Good suggestion, thank you!

Thanks so much!

Thanks! Yeah,  I definitely want to improve the jumping to be more consistent & forgiving.

That worked, thank you!
