Damn I had no idea. That sucks

I really liked the concept of the this and the transitions between stages was a really neat effect. My main feedback would be that I'd have liked to have used keyboard controls or been able to click in a general direction and have the knight move there even if I didn't click on the specific tile he would move to. Just something to make navigation a little easier

They are random. There is a one in four chance of one of them appearing each time the dots spawn. Perhaps I should have structured it better and maybe thats something to do in an update after the jam is over. When we were play testing we found that this felt about right. Any more and they would spawn too often and on later levels you were running around the track so fast that power orbs would spawn at a rate where you were essentially always invincible. Theres a tricky balance there but I think we can find it. Thanks for your feedback :)

Really atmospheric. Great work!

It’s interesting but I can’t figure it out yet.

game of the year premise lol

Hilarious and timely.

Just some horror art I made in photoshop. Thanks so much for the review!

what a cool idea. I’d never considered making a horror endless runner before even though the concept seems so obvious. I love it and thought the graphics were really fitting.

favourite of the jam so far. Not necessarily scary but it’s really creepy in a way that I love. Reminds me a lot of LSD Dream Emulator

I couldn't really figure out what to do in the game and the little instructions card seemed cut off at the bottom on my screen. But its a fun game and I really like the retro Zelda inspired graphics and gameplay. Being able to look out of the window is a novel idea. I'll probably go back to this and try to get further in it

I know its only a 5 hour project but I really like what you're going for. There aren't really any horror elements which is a missed opportunity since the real Pacman game has ghosts in it. I guess the dot you play is is supposed to be a ghost. Either way its fun and I'd like to see you expand on this into a bigger game.

Don't think I've seen this hand game adapted into a video game before. Really fun idea to be honest. My only real complaint is that the hand blends into the table a little too much so maybe having a bit more contrast there would help. Otherwise nice job!

Really cool. One of my first favourites of the jam.

I wouldn’t be able to add one on for a while as the ScreamJam voting period has started so I can’t update the project for a week. I’ve not tested the game on desktop either so I may not able to provide this

only one ending

Heres my entry for this year!

Thanks. I think I'll give it a go and see how it performs. I'll let you know how I find it.

Does this shader work well with the HTML5 export?

Amazing thanks for doing this

Play now on Itch!

Just released my game about the ongoing US election onto Itch. It is a farting ass rhythm game / politics simulator.

Recently the game was voted 4th best game of September over on Newgrounds.

they were going to just be something you could look at and they’d have a bit of flavour text but nothing integral to the game. Unfortunately I didn’t have time to finish them before the jam deadline and also I forgot to take them out. So in the end they’re just a mystery thing for people to wonder about. There IS an explanation for what they are and why they are where they are in universe which the flavour text would have made clear, and people who’ve played one of my other games could probably figure it out.

I can’t wait!

thank you so much! Really enjoyed the video

I think if I’d had more time on it I’d have put more story into the dreams. But as it stands I only had limited time to develop it because I had some other responsibilities to take care of as well. I’m thinking of making a Mære 3 in 2025 and this time I might not restrict myself to doing it for a jam

Thanks!

Thanks! I think I’ve struggled a bit with teaching players how to play. I’ve seen some players play it on YouTube and some don’t understand it at all. I need to figure out a better way to on board if I am to continue the series.

Thanks for the kind comments! :)

I’m a huge fan of this game.

I love it! We both made retro styled games but I think yours follows the restrictions of the consoles a little more closely than mine. Great work

I really love the visuals!

Visually stunning!

The creature design is genuinely disturbing! Would love to see this expanded upon for a bigger game

Its a good entry even to say you had such a short amount of time to work on it. You really nailed the atmosphere

I really enjoyed the atmosphere here. The models and textures work so well. Great job!

I absolutely loved it haha

Thanks. Yours was one of my favourites so far

Challenging platforming and i really liked how you had a high road and low road similar to the level design in games like Sonic the Hedgehog. Helps with replayability because whenever I found myself getting stuck on certain parts I'd just try finding another way around it.

This game is hard! But I really enjoyed the art style and doom style enemies. I'd say it reminds me of an almost cartoonish version of the original Doom or Duke Nukem games. Best I can do is about 8 seconds and I don't always see the enemies. Got any tips for surviving longer?

When the monster comes for you you can hide inside a house with the lights on if you can reach one in time. But don't leave straight away because you need to give it time to move on
