Thank you for such a thoughtful comment! I'm glad you enjoyed the relaxed pace and the illustrations, especially how you pictured the two friends around the image. Rain sounds could be a lovely fit. And I appreciate your perspective on AI, too. Thanks for playing!

Thanks for playing! It's helpful to hear that the first level took a little figuring out, but that things flowed better after that. I appreciate the ideas for music, sound effects, and more characters. Adding more friends might change the focus on Tate and Yoko, as you mentioned, but it's an interesting idea!

Thanks for the specific feedback! I can see why the bottom-left cross could be confusing. A short caption under each cross sounds like a good way to make it clearer without adding too much text. I really appreciate you pointing that out!

Thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed it, and that the difficulty felt fair as it grows. Thanks for the kind words!

Thank you for finishing the game, and for asking this before you rate it.

In short: the AI did the making. The decisions and the testing were mine.

The AI:

- It wrote all the code.

- It made all the pictures.

- It wrote all the text.

- It built all the levels, including the changes I asked for.

Me:

- I chose the two characters from pictures the AI made.

- The idea to put these characters in this puzzle was mine.

- I tested the game while it was being made, and asked for the rule you played with: you cannot go through the enclosure, and the whole long side must line up.

- I asked for the later levels to be made harder.

Please rate the game as you feel is fair.

Thank you! I'm glad you like the concept, and good to hear it sounds like a fit for mobile.

More levels or a level generator could be interesting directions. Nothing planned yet, but I'll keep those ideas in mind.

Really appreciate the feedback!

Thank you for playing through all 10 levels! I'm glad the difficulty felt fair.

You're right about "enclosure" — I can see how that word could be confusing. I'll take another look at it.

I like your point about new mechanics rather than another character. Pushable blocks, switches, and temporary shape changes are all interesting. The slideshow idea for the unlocked illustrations is a nice one too.

Thanks for the thoughtful feedback — it helps me think about what could come next.

Thanks for coming back and playing more! I'm glad the rotation note helped this time, and happy to hear you liked the umbrella scene.

For now I'm focusing on the itch.io version. I don't have concrete plans for Steam yet, but I'm open to seeing where this goes.

Thanks again for giving the game another try!

Thanks for asking! The player learns both together, with some help at the start.

There’s a visual explanation of the goal before puzzle 1, and the first puzzle has movement guides turned on. Puzzle 2 uses the same rules, but the guides are off by default. Hints are still available whenever you want them.

Thanks for playing and for the detailed feedback! It’s good to hear the tall/wide difference came across through the movement.

I’ve added a short “No rotation” note under the board in puzzle 1. Thanks for flagging the language toggle placement too.

I’d love to hear what you think of the later puzzles after the update. Thanks for offering to give them a try!

Hi! I made Tate & Yoko — A little space, a small puzzle game about two friends: Tate is tall, and Yoko is wide.

Move them around the board until each friend's whole long side lines up with an edge of the enclosure. Neither can rotate or pass through the enclosure or shrubs. There are 10 puzzles, each unlocking a small illustration of the pair.

Play free in your browser (desktop or mobile, English or Japanese)

I'd love to hear your first impressions

- What did you enjoy, if anything?

- Was anything confusing or frustrating, especially the goal or movement?

No need to finish all 10 puzzles. Even a quick impression from the first few would help. Thanks!

Hi, I'm Coyuno. I've released Tate & Yoko — A little space, a free browser puzzle game.

Tate is tall and Yoko is wide. Move them around the board until each friend's whole long side lines up with an edge of the enclosure. Neither character can rotate or pass through the enclosure or shrubs.

Play free in your browser on desktop and mobile:

Gameplay screenshot: Tate and Yoko on puzzle 5, Picnic.

There are ten puzzles, each followed by an illustration of the pair, from sharing tea to watching the stars.

Mobile: Drag with your finger, or tap a character and then tap a destination.

Desktop: Drag with the mouse, or click a character and then click a destination. For keyboard controls, focus the board first, then use T/Y to select, arrow keys to move, and Z to undo.

Available in English and Japanese. Progress lasts only while the page stays open.

I'd love to hear what you think of the game, including what you enjoyed and any questions or suggestions you have.
