Time -- if you check the Records/Mastery tab, you'll see that you need to spend 10000 years total (doing anything) in the new area to acclimate.

Couple of issues regarding the Bonded Beast Aether Forms. First off, the text is overrunning the boxes to the right instead of correctly word-wrapping. Second, all 3 forms are accessible from the first time you cultivate Aether. Not sure if that's intended or if you are supposed to get access to them one at a time.
I am really liking the new parts of Act 3; definitely has more flavor than the early runs of the middle of Act 2.
The World Tab in Records seems to have retained some Lower-Realm info/failed to update status to Act 3. Specifically, Trade Guild Finder Royalties and Bonded Beast status look to be incorrect. Possibly also Returning Cave, not sure.
Additionally, the formerly-erased one-element settlements that are once again accessible are still marked as erased in that tab; not sure if that's intentional.
Small bug? From the All-Ten Wilderness, you cannot actually go directly to a Mono Wilderness -- the Element selector does not work. You have to first go to a Dual, then a Mono from there. This also happens if you are in a Dual Wilderness and first select All-Ten, then select Mono -- the Mono Element selector becomes non-functional until you go to a different Dual.
It looks like the Authority Bearing task at the Sovereign Command in Grave Engine's territory is no longer accessible after you beat him (clicking the Authority Yard button does not give access to the rank-up task). Is that intended? The Reserve Reinforcement task at Reserve Command (under the Preservation Yards button) *is* still accessible.
I am going to make a slight criticism here, and I hope it's taken in the spirit intended. I really enjoyed Act 1. Yes, the game play is functionally "watch these progress bars fill up 400 times to unlock the next step of the game" repeated ad infinitum, but you really got the sense that the tasks you were doing were part of an overarching story. In large part this was because while doing these tasks, you would organically get interactions with persistent characters and each setting had its own semi-distinct flavor which was strongly tied to the elemental cycle underpinning the story.
I'm not getting that sense in Act 2 as much. Yes, there are persistent characters in Stonehold and Common Ground -- but you don't really interact with the ones in Common Ground so much as just hit their button 3x to clear them, and the tasks feel like rote check-boxes.
And in the Grave Engine tyrant area, at least, there *are* no persistent characters. Each location is just "fill these 4 progress bars with slightly different flavor text once each, fill this progress bar 5x, here's a progress bar that gives logarithmic improvement to these numbers for however long you want to fill it", with exactly one 1-paragraph blurb of text at the end of each location showing what you've learned. Yes, each location has some text describing what is going on, but it just not as satisfying as Act 1.
Maybe that changes as you unlock more tyrants, I don't know, but at least at the stage of the game I'm at, the storyline feels thin.
Am I soft-locked? I'm in Act 2, picked Grave Engine as the first tyrant to tackle, and I'm at the end stage, where I need to accomplish 4 tasks that each take 325 yrs of lived time. The problem is, my maximum lifespan is 232 yrs, and there's no way to increase that in Act 2 that I have access to beyond Miasmatic Sustenance and Comparative Lower-Realm Physiology, which are both maxed out.
Do I need to reload my end-of-Act-I save to go through all Wilderness Impressions to increase my lifespan? Is there something I'm missing?
