Very creative game and lovely art! I was surprised at how complex it can get and needed to put in quite a lot of thought into figuring the levels out!

Nice music, was one of the best parts for me! Was clear what I had to do and felt pretty satisfying! I also liked all the fun little dialogue bits and was overall a very creative interpretation of the theme! Sadly my fingers were taken down before I could take down the Count (they still hurt, by the way).
The only complaint I have is that there are SOME bugs. Like for example one time I lost and got returned to the menu but couldn't click on anything anymore. But otherwise it played fine.
Fun take on the countdown and overall very creative game! I just wish there was a bit more work on the balancing, since right now you lose a bit too much health and regain too little to be able to go through all the demons in one run in my opinion. I also think it'd be cool if you'd be able to interact with the table in the book to cross out things. Enjoyed my time though and I really liked the art for the demons!
VERY fun game. One of the most fun I've played so far from this jam! VERY creative interpretation of the theme as well. I was super happy to see there's music and that there's even music for the boss fights. I should also add that the boss fights fit the theme even more since other than counting down, you also have an actual countdown for taking damage. Awesome job on this, have literally 0 complaints!
Crazy for a game made for a jam! The artstyle is nice and I personally like it, the gameplay feels good, there's actual difficulty in some levels, there's audio, options, a reset button, level select, souls with different stats and abilities and even leaderboards! I'm pleasantly surprised by how well done this is, VERY solid game!
I think the only bug I found was ONE red soul inside the ground in a level (I think it's level 6).
Other than that, I just sort of wish there was a bit more light in some levels because the darkness can make some a biiit unclear (like level 8). And also from 8 onwards I noticed sometimes even though your cursor displays that purple-y color that suggests you can swap with the soul you are looking at, sometimes you actually can't due to collisions (not sure if it's intended). The last thing is just a nitpick but it feels like the final 2 levels are sort of just thrown there pretty quickly, but that's JUST because the level design is really nicely done everywhere else and taught and expanded on the mechanics nicely!
I am SO glad the time spent on the menu was not for nothing!! Yeah, the audio side of things was done last minute because we didn't have anyone on the team specifically for that. Also, about the speedrun side of things, you just played really well, we actually had people having trouble with the difficulty and dying to time quite often! What you might also have not noticed because of how well you played is that manipulating time actually speeds up the countdown! It's shown with a change of color of the clock hand!
Very fun experience! Definitely among the ones I like most this year! The art is nice, there's story, the theme is applied with every minigame being very quick and keeping you alert and the gameplay is enjoyable! It has BASICALLY everything it should. The only thing I wish the game had that it doesn't is a fullscreen mode
Cool game and very fun idea you came up with! I could totally see this being a nice experience if polished and made longer! Also I'm glad you included a reset button.
Some small suggestions:
- Maybe having a button to instakill you could be a good idea, especially useful in the first 2 levels
- Maaaybe the 3rd level could use a slightly longer timer
- Would be neat if I could resize the window or set it to fullscreen
- The collision checks for jumping can be a LITTLE wonky at times. I had situations where I should've been able to jump from a body to another but wasn't able to (but it's not a super big issue either)
I really like the idea of stealing/giving time to game objects, very creative! If you keep working on this you could end up with something very fun here!
Unfortunately I haven't been able to beat the game and I *think* it's because time keeps going while you transfer time from platforms, which feels a bit awkward since it could mess up a platform that's very far away from you and is absolutely needed to win, but you wouldn't know!
Also, here's a few things to maybe add if you want to keep working on it to make the gameplay feel nicer:
- Queuing inputs could be useful, most platformer games have this! Right now if you press space right as you hit the ground or a few frames before it, it's not gonna lead to a jump because it hasn't registered the grounded check yet!
- Same thing as before, coyote time (a few extra moments allowing the player to jump after falling from a platform) is another useful thing to have in a game with jumping and platforms! Check it out, there's a lot of tutorials out there for both these things!
It's a nice little game and I always enjoy a little Papers Please-style gameplay. I think my only complaints, besides the time being too short, are two visual bugs:
1. There is at least one NPC type whose model goes OVER the dialogue UI (the one with feathers on the head)
2. This one's more of a nitpick, but the NPCs coming to the casino either clip through the ground or fly above it a bit.
One more nitpick is that some NPCs can repeat during the same day very closely to each other and I've had that happen. I *think* there's also an issue about the game never telling you anything about checking names but some people having fake silly names to look out for. As a last suggestion, maybe including how the casino stamp normally looks like on the handbook would be nice! Otherwise though, there were no game breaking bugs, no crashes and this was fun to play, great job!
A nice first game! I was pleasantly surprised to see absolutely 0 game breaking bugs or crashes and also what I was supposed to do was clear enough. I'd say the art being the way it is can be a bit charming... except that some items (specifically what I think is the tv remote) are very unclear. Was stuck for a while due to not knowing what the item I had left was. There is at least one bug you might want to fix if you keep going with this: the paper with instructions pauses the time... but you can keep going around the rooms while the time is paused with the paper open, basically cheating!
I like the ideas and also really liked the visual style, great job there! Managed to barely finish it on first try (won't mention the crash on start because it's already known). My only complaints would be:
- Second puzzle is more awkward to figure out than the first: only thing suggesting what you should do being running out of air. Also didn't help that one ring had a symbol either in common with another ring or just very similar (with the artstyle it's a bit hard to figure out sometimes!)
- Third puzzle I've no clue what I was supposed to do beyond just going through it like a maze. I did notice some symbols also became red like in the second puzzle, but I was already on short time left
