The Elijah Smith/David Perkins thing was definitely a bug, sorry about that! I’ve updated the game to fix it.

I also completely agree with you about the instant text. All my jam games were made in my spare time after work over the course of 1-2 weeks so they lack some QoL features like options for text speed/instant text. (In the full game I’m working on now, there’s an option for it.)

Totally get what you mean about the time limits and the anxiety. At the time I felt a difficult time management style game would work well with the theme of the jam but it might’ve been a good idea to add a “relaxed” mode. (But since this is an old jam game, I don’t think I’ll be making any updates.)

Yikes that shouldn’t be happening, thanks for reporting! Were you playing the web version and did you, by any chance, have the game open in multiple tabs? Seems like an issue with the save file and that’s the only way I’ve been able to reproduce it. Basically, if you do something in one tab, it doesn’t get immediately updated in the other tab and causes all sorts of problems. I’ll keep looking into it but any details around what happened exactly (like did you go to a different room and suddenly there was an issue or if you closed the game and reopened it, etc.) would be super helpful. Thanks again and sorry for the issues!

Hi, thank you so much for playing! By part 3, do you mean the last puzzle that you see when you flip the page or part 3 of the first puzzle? In both cases you should see a check mark appear if you’ve entered everything correctly. Or is there an issue with inputting the letter? On clicking a box, you should be able to enter a letter from the list that appears. Is that not happening?

You play as Clementine “Cleo” Ace, an eager to learn apprentice to the world renowned detective, Maya Lynch, who also just happens to be your favorite aunt. Together you two solve “howdunnit” style cases from impossible heists to baffling murders.

In the demo, solve Cleo’s first three cases and discover her beginnings. To solve each case, you must search for clues, observe carefully, make deductions, figure out who did it and how.

You have to give it to him from your inventory. Right click on the candy in the inventory and then left click Tiny to give it.

Hi, you can open your inventory by pressing space. That should work on mac too.

Hi, you can give someone an item from your inventory by right clicking on it in the inventory and then left clicking on the person. For the screwdriver, make sure it’s the right kind.

Loved everything - the art, story and puzzles are very nice. Took me a bit to spot that plug but other than that I didn’t get stuck anywhere. Very funny, especially the butter puzzle and that ending! Great game! :D

Excellent! Really enjoyed the story, I love how fleshed out it is. Puzzles were fun and logical. I appreciated the task list, I missed part of a conversation at one point and that came in handy. Also really liked the sounds effects. Nice work!

Great game, as always! A bit on the easier side (compared to your other games, I felt), but very fun and engaging. I wasn’t prepared with a certain person’s name when I entered a location and died immediately, haha! But other than that, it went smoothly. Ending was perfect, loved it! :D

That’s really strange! There should be a hammocks section in the diary after you fill the witness statements and view the cream. Is that not showing up?

The initial plan for the game was to release a new chapter for each new Adventure Jam but there hasn’t been another one since 2023 and I also haven’t had the time to make it. Right now I’m working on my first full-length commercial game and all my time and energy are going towards that I’m afraid.

I do have the whole story written down and would love to work on it once I have the chance.
