Oh I am sorry about that at least I am not alone with that anymore xD
Which sound gengerator did you use?

oh me neither it makes stuff much easier just found out because I rode your message

You have an nice art style and it is an interesting idea.
Just wondering when I fail and do again, there are no flames did I do something wrong or is there something I am missing?

I really enjoyed playing the game but I need to ask did you whistle and create the sounds yourself? In my head I see a person which whistles the whole time when I collect an ember orb

Its a fun game.
I had a really hard time with my touch pad (laptop), so I guess touchscreen makes it much easier?

Thank you for playing.
Yes, this time I made it harder because on my last jam someone said the game was to easy so I thought I would make it more compllicated this time. Trying to experiment a little bit and see what works.

Thank you, so the tutorial did not help, or what was the part which was hard to figure out?

Thank you, what did it make to complicated maybe there is a way to make it more clear?

Can you explain what you mean with "deconstruct it into fundamental elements based on their properties" that sounds interesting

Sadly thats not how my brain works it always connects stuff or makes plans how I can use it later. So thinking small is something I need to learn and be happy with it

The nexus is like a mix out of pokemon and final fantasy. The first levels are designed as tutorial so they are easier to understand the mechanics.
So you dont like strategy/turnbased games?

You are right I could have doen something simpler. I just needed extra motivation to turn the idea in reality because I really liked to explore having a game that changes again and again. And I was wondering if a concept like that can work. I managed to rebuild some of the mechanices of the first 2 dimensions so far.Jus wondering do you leave the jam project uploaded, override it, start a new project or insert a selector to try the jam version and normal version?

Nice it is great that you had fun, I will try to update my game even future until the first version is finished but for that I need to explore different stuff like adding maybe a difficulty setting.

Tbh it think your game was one of the games I liked the most out of the others

Which stuff would you said are good to setup before? My idea is to build a small SDK atm I try to bundle sound, language/labels, maybe controlls and settings. So your personal library did grow over time might be the same case for me as well

Do you shrink down your concept first so you only have a small one or do you always just have a simple idea to start with

Thats actually difficult for me, my ideas always get really big fast so learning staying small would be good for me

Thank you for your insights, so you are an jam expert? I normally build and programm Soft- and Hardware projects so my guess I still waste too much time on software architecture and design before I get going. ( I am more a backend person)

Hi, I just was wondering how do you plan when you have jams like these with little time. Do you already have a rougth idea what you like to do before the jam starts? Do you use some assets or do you got some kind of personal assets of your own in stock?

I would like to hear from others as well to learn from the experience. Many thanks in advance

Interesting concept, the last level took me a little bit longer to finish it but I enjoyed playing it :D

Yes the game is still not polished I started 2 days before submission end so I mostly focused on the concept and that you can play it without bugs. Oh and the controls I had to experiment a lot with them and then explain how it works. I got the feedback I just button mashed the game since I didn´t read the instructions. Thats why there are multiple instruction instructions and controls.

I had to make the difficulty pretty easy so every one can completed it ( the first version was to hard at least people said that). And since I run out of time I did decide to post pone the balancing and get everything first running. The idea was like playing trought old games again but still change them a little bit. The laser is indeed a little bit to strong but I did run out of time to balanced it proberly so I did leave it like that. How would you balanced it?

Yeah the cherry should just help players to complete the game fast or get them out of stick situations but you are right it is not balanced I was thinking about either limiting the time or ressource gain

Funny story before the other controlls did got reworked the hammer level was pretty difficlut since you had to move also on the right direction which means you needed so if you didn´t watched you positions you just died.

On the rift race I still think that the controlls don´t feel right atm so you don´t had that feeling?

The fracture worlds is like Pokemon and Kirby combined you get the abiltiy and you can use the ones which you catch later in the nexus ( that was initaly also to hard I had to make that easier and I think now the first levels got to easy so that the last one is not that hard anymore)

You discovered a problem which I as not aware of you just can spam the hammer and catch button sice they bouth use a context system which mean they auto target and auto execute the correct action. I mostly just use the laser.

Did you also try the nexus? And the secret level?

Thank you very much for your feedback that really helps very much you confirmed many problems which I thought there were but nobody confirmed that and even showed me new ones I didn´t even noticed.

I hope you enjoyed it

In case you are interested I will also update the game after the jam to address these issues. Just curios about that, are you going to update your game after the jam as well or do you just leave it like that?

PS: Do you think I should add a story to the game or not?

The turret just ignored them I think it was the flame turret. Maybe the turrets did track something different or a dead enemy? Or there is a problem with the walls and turret field of view. That are just assumptions, so I don´t know if they are correct.

I tried it, is an interesting concept. (Tried the first version too). Not sure if I using it wrong or if there is a bug but sometimes the turrets don´t shoot even when the enemys are next to the weapon block.

Thank you for your feedback :D. I also asked my friends and they liked it, but I never know if they just say they liked it, because of me or because they really liked it. Did you also submit a game?

I create this game  https://djpx.itch.io/dungeon-crawler since this is my first game I ever released public I would love to hear feedback. What do you like about it what could be done better? Did you manage to play the secret level? Before I that I already created other games but only for myself and friends. Mostly lacked someone for the visuals so this challange was really nice since I could use ai to enhance my not that great drawings xD . My other games never got released because of that and time problems.
It would be really nice if there is someone who like to share his or her experience with publishing games on itch.io or in general creating games .

PS:

(You also can make right click -> inspect -> console and enter "devmode=true" so you can also play locked levels as well, except the secret level)

There is a devmode so you can test all levels. Use right click on the game then inspect. Select the console tab and insert devmode=true . This will unlock all levels to test but your progress does not get touched

It seems it just took some time now it is visible or my browser cache did make problems

I did submit my project but it is not shown in the submission feed? Did I do something wrong, it said the submission was successful? This is my first time using itch.io so I don´t know how this works normally

It was the on the 30.9 when I got the email with the link. After doing the form it showed that so it got transmitted

Didn´t used either one of these before but I would love to test them as well. Tried Hermes before but still really new to local AI and it seems that the software you chooses can let your model perform better or worse.

No I did not get anthing or at least I didn´t saw anything so far. You would have got that as email right?

Maybe they do not work on the weekend?

Hi, thank you for your answer. So I guess it is time for me to start developing as well :D
Are there any tool recommendations for Qwen models?

Hi, this is my first time hearing about jams at itch.io (also my first interaction with this platform). So I was wondering if I still can join. There is an idea which I had a month ago, which is currently just a small text file with a rougth concept in it, but it is older then the 25.8 can I still use the concept? Is the use of Local LLM allowed too (I can try to use a Qwen modell if that helps too)? (Don´t know how far you can get with 20$ if it is even possible to still get that). Human code + AI assisted is also allowed right?
