is it possible to add controller support through modding? i always felt like this game could've had it since the UIs arent too crazy and the inputs are relatively simple.

(1 edit)

I have no clue if you even look at this game anymore raliv but is it possible for you to use what you learned from this game in the future on other games since you're working with naelstrof and them in the gator dragon team? this game's systems still have a lot of potential and a new slate with a team might bring back motivation for the style of game.

I've been seeing how the controller support is for this (since button icons show and analog sticks work) and i've got a few bugs here for you.

1. the radial menus (Select Button and Interact Button) can pass the A button input into the next menu if it's not let immediately after presing it, making you accidentally enter an animation for the lewd actions menu and when opening the inventory you will sometimes instant filter when you dont want to.
2. there's no visible cursor on the inventory screen on controller.
3. the item tooltips can flicker between two items if you select different items with the mouse and controller, and even if you dont touch the mouse they still will.
4. navigating the inventory in general on gamepad is weird, since some menu spots dont select the way you'd expect them to (few things about it: Going left from the pants slot or shoes slot makes an inventory item tooltip flicker around, going left from the lower underwear slot goes up and not to the pants slot, going down from the accessory slot goes back to the torso slot and not the weapon, pressing up on the upper underwear slot goes to your inventory and not the hat slot. Up on the DPad from the torso slot goes to the hat slot but up on analog stick goes to the upper underwear instead.

a few quality of life things as i would like to request as well:
 - Please add sensitivity settings for mouse and controller aiming.
 - The voices, music, and SFX should be separate volume options and not just mute buttons (probably already planned but still)
 - Rebindable controls in future please? i would like to be able to use a button for quick inventory and not need the radial every time, especially since there's still unused buttons on controller (dpad right and down i think so you could make Down consumables, Up as the Menu radial, Select or start as Inventory, and Right as a possible extra menu or option)

this feels like it would work really well on steam deck/handheld, do you have any plans for controller inputs for the menus and camera?

Careful with making a rhythm mini game, you can't do multiple screen inputs at the same time with just a mouse, meaning no double notes or hold+note combos unless you make it keyboard based. That being said, you seem to be doing well so i hope you continue enjoying making this.

they fully plan to use steam's framework for online play from the looks of it, so i think the singleplayer demo is all you're getting on itch.

I don't play any suika games, this is actually the first one i have ever played, so the classic suika mode wasn't something i cared for too much, while the regular match 4 mode i loved because i'm a puyo fan, i kept trying to make puyo style chains because it felt so similar. The art and music is really well made so i bought the game at the art pack price. with that said though i wanted to ask if buying at that price still counts toward the supporter thing because itch is screwy sometimes and i can't tell if it was valid for that or not.

Would it be possible to have a toggle so controllers rumble depending on the current combo? i think quite a few people would be interested in that and if it is added a toggle to disable gamepad input so you can have the rumble while using a mouse without messing with your inputs.

if you can't make a public part of the discord, could you open a forums section on the itch page and possibly show bits of what you're working on here? the lack of update news on both the itch page and twitter bothers me just because there's literally no news at all since the release of the game on those places.

No multiplayer is unfortunate, since the way the game is made so far with movement and interactions feels like a coop game. if you ever double back on that suggestion, maybe you can see if Naelstrof could help you out with it when he has time, i found this game because of his discord server after all.

The Itch client doesn't download the right version of this game when you use it, it thinks there's only a web version. when you have time you might wanna make the standalone version compatible for the people who use it for auto updates.
