Great idea and really cute presentation

This was really great but I was so bad at it haha

This was really great, enjoyed the story and art a lot!

Really clever and creative, great work!

Thank you!

I'm not sure if it has a name but it's very inspired by the flash games of the early 2000s. It happens to be a style I can pull off very easily so my default for prototypes - Id say the thing that makes it work is just that it's cohesive and consistent more than anything! I just use the same few colours, same pen size, same way of joining tiles and it works. I've been surprised by how many people have called it out, as I was throwing it together very quickly, but thank you for saying such nice things about it!

Thank you! Yeah that's a good suggestion, I'll look to add something like that in if I carry on!

I think I'll be making adjustments based on many comments here! Thanks for playing

For some reason I thought the red would be subtraction and blue addition at first, but a couple of darts made me realise I was dumb, just like the professor said bro

The atmosphere was great, really liked the effect of the torch going out.

Absolutely unhinged idea, loved it

Really creative take on the theme and got a few good laughs out of some of the effects. Finished the level and wanted more! I think showing the next incoming effect(s) may be interesting to play with as you may want to take different routes/approaches based on what's coming next

Really nice dual gameplay take with the hp/attack split. Would say I always ran hot and never cold, really, may need some zones or effects that create sustained coldness to balance out the shooting / damage taking?

Galaxy brain idea, this was a really clever implementation of the theme

This was great in so many ways, well done

I thought my speaker actually exploded from the bomb noise 😆

The mini screen showing the lava made things quite tense

Creepy - the title screen has got nice style to it

I like the art and the title screen but wasn't sure what to do in the game - also you included all the source code in the zip file as an fyi, not sure if you knew!

Some really fun puzzles here! I feel like there were a couple of ways to solve some of the levels too

I really like the core idea and the art style/information display here. Really clean, has character and I could easily tell who had attacked who. That being said I agree with some other posts about providing time to read the cards and make choices. It also wasn't immediately obvious to me that you could queue cards and have them execute one after the other. There's a nice base here, and I think there's a ton of potential in the format. I can see it working in a more traditional RPG as the combat element, or as it's own deckbuilder game, but there would need to be some additional cards that allow for other choices or actions that require you to respond to the enemy in a more meaningful way. Would definitely be interested in seeing how it develops if you do continue working on it!

Cathartic lettuce burning simulator. The mini games were really fun and I like that it was old timey themed, nice work!

This was excellent, I sort of forgot it was a game made in 96 hours. The vibe and ambience were excellent and the controls felt really good. I do agree with others about the timer, it felt a bit too intense towards the last second and most of the time I sort of knew whether I was going to make it or not! Super inventive.

This was great! This could have been an arcade game back in the day, super cute and challenging. Really liked the animation of the little guys getting shorter when they were low on HP and winding the clock felt super satisfying - loved it :)

This was really fun! Ended up playing a few runs - hoping more people get the chance to see it and play it! Got quite frantic when low on health and having to make trade-offs about getting additional hearts or being safe with time for the keys

Thank you! It's definitely something I'll explore, it's come up a few times and I think I could replace the rails with something that achieves the same outcome, without a pit

(Edit: typo)

Haha! I had a lightbulb moment when I thought of it, great minds indeed! I'll check out your submission later on today - thanks for the comment!

Thank you for the kind words! I need to do a better job of signposting that it's only in the tab menu, as some in person play tests I did ran into the same problem.

I really enjoyed your game too, thanks for taking the time to play!

Thank you so much 🙏 I'm so glad you enjoyed it!

This is an excellent take of the theme and overall really well done. The music is also hype as, one of my faves I've played so far

Poor count, I was dragging him along the floor the whole time haha

This was a ton of fun to play, I ended up going to wave 20. Upgrading the vampire felt optimal, by the end I was kill chaining everyone at the bottom of the screen :D

Really liked the art style and theme, I found the puzzle the hardest and DID find Sasoooook

Nice use of the theme, I thought the presentation and music were really well done as well

Definitely agree! I actually wanted to redo it as graffiti on the walls for all of it to be consistent, but ran out of time

He knew it was time - this had me laughing, nice

Art style, music and sound design all really nice - would have been good to have a bit more time to make decisions as I found it hard to weigh up what it might impact

This is great! I feel like our submissions are channeling the same sort of ideas, just executed in slightly different ways. Some great puzzles here too, nice work! :D

Liked the dual gameplay, getting all the villagers together to do that blood storm thing felt real good

The counting being updated each time was very very good
