Thank you so much! The main idea with system for responses was that you would basically be able to input as many words as you want, and then a script parses through the words you've chosen and finds one that seems the most shocking, and plays the dialogue option for that. I think that system makes sense, cause if you were to say a bunch of random words to someone in real life like that, I think the person you're speaking to would try to grasp on to the one they found the most interesting and try to make sense of it from there.

Thank you so much! I enjoyed your game as well.

Thank you so much!

I'm glad you enjoyed it! Thank you so much!

The parry mechanic combined with the hit stop and sound effect is super satisfying! Really awesome stuff!

I love the jingle after successfully completing a level! Great work!

Thank you!

The character controller feels great in this game! The animations and camera movement sync perfectly with the gameplay and the black-and-white art style allows everything to be readable when it gets chaotic.

Great work!

The art style is so polished! Controlling the main character feels great as well, awesome work!

Thank you so much! I had so much fun playing your submission as well.

The polish on this game is phenomenal! I had so much fun stacking the pieces of the tower in just the right order for it to stay stable. It's really fun trying to find some kind of equilibrium between all the different pieces; it's like playing reverse Jenga, where you're adding pieces instead of replacing it.

The hand-drawn pixel art sprites with the realistic, limited-color backgrounds work so well together!

I love the fact that we can actually download the photos for ourselves, very creative!

I love the style of this game!
The subtle animation with the tactile sound of the tiles and UI make it so satisfying.

Sure! I projected what the camera was seeing onto a render texture. Then, I had the render texture display at a lower resolution to achieve the pixelated effect (about 400 x 226).

Thank you so much!

Your game was really polished and the idea of the bouncing DVD logo was really unique! The art style was really well done and it made me feel like I was watching an old TV.

Good luck during the jam!

Thank you so much!

Your game was so amazing! You totally nailed the juice, and the concept was really interesting and unique! It was really fun and intuitive to jump while sliding as well, excellent job. The soundtrack is really well made and fits the game's aesthetic perfectly!

Thank you!

I loved your game as well. The idea to not bump into your own past versions of yourself was really interesting, and the diner setting made perfect sense for that. The music becoming muffled when you run out of time was a great addition too.

Thank you!

Your game was a lot of fun as well. I love the little hitstop once you complete a loop, it adds to the overall game feel very nicely.

Thank you so much!

I appreciate the suggestion!

Thank you for playing!

When I think about snowy areas, I think about the expansive, cold atmosphere that they give off. I also think about the sense of nostalgia I get from snowy areas, and how much fun they were playing in them as a kid. So I decided to make the main melody have this thick, hazy feeling, but simple chord progressions to give into the playful nature of it.

Really interesting concept.

The different colors for the typing minigame helped me understand if I was on the right track or not.

Good job!

Thank you so much!

Thank you so much!

Thank you!

I enjoyed the screen boundary looping mechanic in your game as well!

Thank you for playing!

The comparison to the cookie game in Squid Games wasn't one I had thought of before.

That's really creative!

Thank you for playing!

The art was really good!

One tip about importing pixel art into Unity: make sure you turn off the bilinear filter in the image import settings so it looks crisp on screen.

If you have some time on your hands, feel free to check out my submission too :)

Yes it's very cool! The title was pretty funny too.

Fun use of the theme :)

I liked playing around with the turn sensitivity slider to find the right setting.

Thank you for playing!

I enjoyed your game as well, the mythological base for the story was really interesting and I like how you incorporated it into the gameplay.

I really enjoyed the unique narrative! I haven't seen anything like this so far.

I read that this was your first game jam. My first game jam was the GMTK Game Jam in 2020. It was also my first game!

I hope you learned a lot from this experience, as I did back then. Game jams are so much fun, and I hope you continue to make games!

Awesome!

Tell me what you think of it when you try it out.

You have a good sense of art direction!

If you have some time on your hands, feel free to check out my submission too :)

Gorgeous pixel art and soothing music with strategic track building gameplay makes this really comforting!

Great work!

I like the idea of using the screen boundaries that you find in old arcade games as the looping mechanic!

The parallax is well done and adds a nice amount of polish to this game.

I'm interested to see what kind of mechanics will be implemented in the final release!

One of my favorite games of the jam!

The paper scanned art style gives such a unique feel to the game.

The crumpling sound for the text box is so perfect it makes it really satisfying to interact with the objects in the room. The text itself being hard to read also makes interesting to decipher along with the cutscenes.

I was really shocked by the surprise ending, I did not expect it at all. Going from a 2D chaotic stylized atmosphere to this more polished 3D one caught me off guard. The music changing between these two areas highlights how different they are as well. The 2D section is a very simple melody while the more "realistic" 3D section has a more layered instrumental.

Good luck during the jam!

The sound design is nice and switching between sides to defend the heart is satisfying.

Good work!

The art style is really nice!

I love that the blue screen actually feels like a blue screen and you can't really skip out of it you just have to wait until your computer restarts.

Thanks for playing!

I am definitely going to add coyote time to the loop detection, it would solve the problem gracefully. Thanks for the suggestion!

As for who the player character is, I think I'm going to leave that up to player interpretation. I was thinking about adding a story, but I wanted to focus on making the gameplay the best it could be.

Your game was a lot of fun as well! The drawing mechanic was really intuitive and I love the fact that you added the translucent circle around your loop so you can see the area it will affect! All the different shapes you have to make for specific types of enemies was really unique as well.

Good luck during the jam!

Thank you!

I do agree that there isn't really a story in the game, I just focused on making fun gameplay this time around.

Your game was a lot of fun to play, too! The card combination mechanic was interesting. It had a good amount of polish in terms of animation and sound effects as well.
