I like the style of the art. It looks great, though the seat looks a bit weird, I think it is facing the potions but lt could have been more clear if you added a back or arm rests on the chair.

I absolutely love the idea and how you implemented it. If you were to do more with that project, I suggest adding more resources growing on the whale. Like his belly could be paller due to having abudnant mushrooms, it can have a spiky tail due to tree like branches growing from it, changing the colour of branches for them being poisonous or not. Stuff like that is really fun to come up with, the art on it's own also is amazing.
The fence feels really tall, though I don't think it is bad since it feels like we are seeing this from the children's perspective and that's why it looks so big. It would have been cool if the chairs were different heights for the adults and children. Overall great art, it has nice a colour combination.
I get it, I added it as a joke, then I was still only thinking about making more characters. However the deadline was getting closer to ending so I had to make the background and after I was done the characters looked fine and I didn't wanna make changes in the last 40 minutes so I just left it like that.
I know you are aware, but the background looks really realistic while the character is really stylized. I know you can't draw a realistic human with a lower resolution, however I think here it would work if there was a lot more contrast, the character being more stylized. If she was drawn with lower pixel count I think it would work better.
It feels weirdly empty. I am not saying it is bad but the tower feels really ominous, if it weren't for the clouds, I would think this was from indie horror series. Just the hair, how empty it feels really makes you look at the tower. And without no humans or animals on screen if feels straight out of a creepypasta, I really like how it looks.
It's nice I guess
Ok but seriously you could have added core ideas and elements so the art can feel more cohesive, right now if feels like many added random fantasy elements with no clear purpose. It just makes the art seem messy.
If you could have made them visibly friends or just add elements to characterize them, like if they are coworkers give them uniforms. That adds personality and helps people naturally make up interpretations for the art, making it better than just, it's nice I guess. Your art doesn't need a whole story, but it would be nice if it had a bit more meaning behind the art.
I love how the dragon looks and I absolutely adore their face, it looks like they have a little smirk. That really adds character.
I would have apriciated if you had added a great background too, so people can know in what environments he fits best in, though that is just extra work that for the jam is not surprising you chose not to do.
Making the dragon was hard and you did a great job I can't find anything bad about it.
I feel like her expressions makes her spells seem weaker, like it isn't that big of a deal at all. It can work if you had contrasted it with a big ominous monster, so she seems like a badass beating monsters effortlessly.
But just this makes it seem like magic is an everyday task that she is bored with. Imagine she finishes that spell and all it does is do the laundry of her entire magic school, that's what I get from the expression. She on her own doesn't carry enough weight in order to make the art impactfull you should have added more elements in order for the art to be complete.
I saw how you said that it was rushed, and I get it, but next time I think it would be better if you didn't put all your eggs in one basket and designed more elements around her, so they can complement each other. I know it sounds like I hate the art, but there are a lot of great elements, like her posture, clothing and the way the spell looks.
My favourite part of the art is the head and neck of the dragon, the sky and especially the cloud they look amazing.
My main complaint is the dragon doesn't look to be flying at all, he looks like he sat down and there was some gas leaking around it. It reminds me a lot of the twilight and mordecai airplanes image, with the way he is sitting.
I know he is meant to be flying but those proportions feel really akward and the good clouds and background really don't save the art, though they absolutely make it better. Next time please spend more time on the proportions so the art can truly shine.
The animation is great, it has a lot of frames and has some snappy moments. However the pace of the animation feels off at times, and makes the whole thing feel akward.
Some of it feels faster than it should be, some of it feels slower than it should be. I would also chose to focus more on the frames that are important, like in the end, it feels like it goes back way too fast, give the frames some time to breathe, so the animation has more impact and the viewer has time to appreciate the animation.
I would suggest you storyboard next animation to have better pace, what you have done in such time frame is amazing, but it can be improved with better planning.
I love how it looks, it reminds me of Morioh from Jojo with how the colours are used here. The houses are beautiful it feels like a city that is lived in.
The only complaint I have is some of the terain feels a bit akward with how it is designed. It feels like either the perspective is slightly wrong or maybe some parts feel unusually rigid and stiff. It feels like mixed styles between a minecraft blocky style and a beginner's 3d models.
I think either can work well if we saw more of them in the artwork, so it feels natural and not out of place, or just make it more consistent. I loved how you designed it but you can tweak some things to make them better.
Honestly the colour palete wasn't that challenging to implement. I usually use a wide variety of colours in my art to draw characters and backgrounds, so the colours here weren't that abstract for me. My main challenge was designing how it all mixes together and seeing what colour is which when picking colours from the palette. The lack of proper green and brown did make it harder though. Thanks for the comment, I like to see people enjoy my work.
My bad now that you pointed it out, I can tell it was meant to be mountains. I wrote my comment kinda late so it might also be me, but some of the mountains really do look like trees in the dark, atleast to me. I do still think the scale of the art is great,
I do think if it interacted more with the environment around it, it would've hit harder. Currently if feels like a cosmic event that while larger than life is way too far away to effect anyone, the environment around it feels controlled, while the scenery is beautiful it looks like a pretty sky, rather than a something that is dangerous for that world. Don't get me wrong the art is really great regardless.
I absolutely love the aesthetic. It feels like something from a Felix Colgrave project. The only negative I have is I feel like some parts of the castle are more detailed than others, though I am not that good at perspective, so I can't be sure, but some parts feel like they need more detailed lighting to match the rest of the castle.
The background is great I don't have any problems with the background. It looks really nice and it helps the art look a lot better.
I really like the idea and the implementation, it looks really good. Anyway I am not sure if it is a nitpick but one tree in the left looks slightly bent while all other seem straight. This isn't bad, but if it is only that tree it makes the effects in the image feel inconsistent. It feels either more trees should be effected or either it should be shown betters why it is just that part of the image.
I don't feel the cyclone part of the image was showcased great, it doesn't feel that dangerous from the art. Anyway that were my negatives, the art is great and the idea is really well, could work for a small indie game premise and would make a great cover art.
I like the simple character design, however I am not sure whether the drawing fits the context in the description. The art is nice but I don't feel the knight shows much emotion or just I can't see the knight being dissatisfied in the art, it isn't shown well.
There isn't a lot going on in the image and I do think it is a downside, since you expect the wizard's magic to be more flashy or just make the sword look a lot more weird due to the magic. Also making the characters more expressive, like the knight have widened eyes or the wizard's posture being more expressive would add a lot more personality to the art.
I know you didn't have a lot of time to work, but an idea like that could have benefited a lot more from being animated, though it certainly isn't required for your idea to be good, just what I think can make it better.
I like the animation, but at the end it feels really rough and unfinished. A bit more movement can be nice too. It can feel a bit stiff at times. The end is really anticlimactic though.
I know animating takes time, but it feels so anticlimactic, like you expect more effects with the magic from the longer build up. Also it feels a bit slow at times, though it can be improved with just better pacing.
Overall the animation is good for the timeframe, but it leaves you wanting more.
Overall the crystall and the background are great. The character can be improved, though mainly my problem is not enough characters. The low detail on them while great for making them feel like ants to the scale of the crystall it doesn't help the feeling of it missing something.
Just adding 2 or 3 more characters could improve the feeling and make the world feel more lived in.
This is really good, I enjoy the character design I think it works really well. I can easily see this being a Zelda inspired indie video game. It just has that aesthetic.
Anyway I do feel the background is a bit too bare, it could benefit for one or two monsters there or just some birds.
Besides that I don't have any other negatives, the art is really great and hope you continoue making art like that.
