Game is done! Not terribly complicated, but has some fun ideas I think. My biggest regret is the decoration being pretty lacking (my map is basically just a big room, there is no sound) as well as the enemies models just being capsules, but I think I did a fine job with the core game. Level design continues to be something I am resoundingly bad at, and I am wondering if my previous post was misguided. I had a lot of fun with this! Looking forward to seeing the other submissions.

I think I made the correct choice saving level design for last, and getting all the core mechanics/enemies/items working in a test scene first. I can't imagine being ~4-5 hours behind on the most tricky part of the coding haha. I think my favorite feature I've added (though not particularly complicated) is overhealth, which is basically just when you grab a health pack and it puts you over the cap. Turns your healthbar a different color and slowly ticks back down to 100, kind of like in the modern Wolfenstein games. Simple and clean, very nice. Hope everyone else is doing well!
Currently I'm thinking some kind of boomer shooter where you try to escape from a trafficking facility like the one from Rio movie as a toucan. I've already played around with first person elements in unity 3d, so shouldn't be that bad. I think the main challenges will be level design and enemy behavior, since in 3d space I imagine those will be tricky.
The following is an excerpt from the word doc I've been typing my every waking thought into:
Goal: Somehow make a toucan fps
Question: is it ethical to shoot a toucan Answer: no?
Question: Is it ethical to shoot toucan hunters as a toucan
