Thanks Endle, and congrats to you too, you and Alaric are a big part of how this map grew to 100 worlds! You're right: on a tie, the Hall of Fame went to whoever forged their first planet earliest, so the older account always won it. In 2.3.4, when two Starforgers have the same levels and the same star, whoever got there first stays on top. Good luck with the star!

Thank you both, this was a real bug and your reports pinned it down 🙏
The planet screen was quietly resetting its buttons every frame, and that cancelled any click that lasted longer than a single frame. So Brew a Tincture, seating a world in a lens, the star offerings and a few others only reacted when a press happened to be very quick, which is why spamming worked. It's fixed in v2.3.2, out now: they answer the first click. After a click, the button may still wait a moment while the star map server answers. That's normal, the server rolls and keeps those results.
About the star map: I love that you already have a plan for where your worlds and your Lodge should stand. Right now a world's place comes from the order it was forged, so nobody can crowd a corner or block anyone else. Choosing a section, and sections that are worth fighting over, would change the Feud a lot. I'm noting it for when I work on the map again. I can't promise it yet, but it's a good push to make the map matter more than a vault draw.
Hi all! AZOTH is a free idle game about alchemy and sacred geometry, and its biggest update so far, 2.0 "The Heavens", just went live. Play in the browser or download it for Windows, macOS and Linux: https://leluong141996.itch.io/azoth
The game in short:
- Tune six lenses, let the mandala turn, and cast seventeen metals, up to the Philosopher's Stone.
- The Stone forges planets on a star map shared by every player.
- Ascended worlds raise alchemists through ten realms, who can go to war or stay in peaceful Sanctuary.
- Every Sunday the star map crowns two worlds: the Aspect Spirits and a crystal Leviathan.
New in 2.0: The Heavens
Players kept asking what lies beyond the planets. This is the answer:
- Planetary Lenses: set your ascended worlds into the six lenses of your mandala. The rarer the world, the stronger the lens.
- The Heart of the Mandala: a seventh world at the centre makes the Ascension rite cheaper.
- Constellations: how you arrange your seven worlds forms one of six constellations, from the Iron Crown for fighters to the Quiet Garden for calm farmers.
- Kindle a star: feed it Quintessence, Stone, Pure Azoth and aspect essence through the seven stages of the Great Work, two days each at least. Every stage pays at once, and the whole star map watches your star grow.
- Laws: a born star proclaims up to three Laws that bend your aspects to your style.
Crown Relics
Crowns move on every week, but now they leave something behind. A world that has worn the Leviathan or the Aspect Spirits keeps a small, faded relic of it forever. The idea came straight from a player who would rather farm calmly than fight to keep the crown.
Also new since 1.7
- Fairer crowns: the Aspect Spirits now go to whoever gained the most cycles that week, so newcomers can win them too.
- Open Fraternities: join one straight from the star map, no seal needed.
- Tinctures and Patrons: the mandala, your worlds and your alchemists now feed each other.
- Save codes in the browser: moving from the download to the web version works again.
Everything is drawn and synthesized in code, the server keeps every battle, crown and star honest, and there are no ads, accounts or purchases. Your save carries over as it is.
If AZOTH makes you smile, a rating helps a small free game get found. If something bothers you, I'd love to hear it in the comments first. I read and reply to every one. See you on the star map!
Six things is great, keep them coming 🤘 Version 2.0 just went out, and most of your list is in it.
1. Adepts: realms stop at Theosis, the tenth, and a world holds ten alchemists at most, so a head start is a lead, not a wall. Everyone reaches the same ceiling in the end, and Tinctures help with the long climbs.
2. Essence: you're right. In 2.0 aspect essence feeds your own star: 20 essence make 1 Stellar Mass, up to 5,000 a day, taken from your richest aspect. That +5% essence bonus finally means something.
3. Leviathan: I loved this one, so it's in. A world that has worn a crown keeps a small, faded relic of it forever, even after the crown moves on. It's purely for looks, and your Leviathan is already counted.
4. Greatest Starforgers: fair point, 98 was a ceiling. 2.0 adds a way past it, a star of your own built over two weeks, and a tie at 98 now goes to the further star. So the crown can still be won.
5. The twelve constellations around the sun (Ouroboros, Green Lion, Pelican and the rest) are the signs of the star map, and every world is born under one. For now they're names and lore only. They're on my list.
6. Save code: that was a bug on my side. The browser version couldn't read your clipboard inside itch's frame, so pasting did nothing. In 2.0 clicking the paste box opens a proper browser box where you can paste, or open the code file you saved. One note: the code carries your Starforger identity, so play on one device at a time.
Thanks for playing so far into the game and for writing all of this down.
Thank you, and congratulations on the Hall of Fame spots, you earned every one of them.
You were right about offline gains, and it was a real bug. While you were away, your lenses kept earning ✦, but the aspect essence that finished crystals send to your planets (Ignis, Aqua and the rest) wasn't counted at all. Only planet weather was still adding any, which is why three hours gave you around a hundred Ignis and your fire world didn't help. It's fixed in v1.7.1, out now: your lenses keep sending aspect essence at the rate they had when you left, Resonant worlds included, and the welcome-back banner shows what each aspect gained.
And please never apologise for rambling like that. Locking planets into lenses for stronger but fixed patterns, a seventh world at the heart of the mandala, Ascended worlds as pillars to forge your own star: that's very close to where I want AZOTH to grow after the planets. I'm now designing ways to tie the mandala, your worlds and your alchemists together, with balance for both battle players and calm farmers, and your ideas are going straight into that. I can't promise all 777 shadow worlds yet, but I love the direction.
Thanks for playing so deeply and taking the time to write. If AZOTH keeps you company, a rating on the page helps a lot, and if anything ever feels off, tell me first like you just did.
A small thank-you for helping shape AZOTH 🐍
Many of the recent updates started as your comments: the background catch-up in the browser, reshaping planets, the clearer Summon button, and more.
So from now on, every constructive comment earns a reward: the Ouroboros, a golden serpent eating its own tail that coils around your world. It's a skin that can't be bought or farmed: you only get it by helping make the game better. Ideas, bug reports, balance thoughts, or telling me what confused you all count.
Already rewarded, thank you!
- Starforger #142: background play and reshaping planets
- Starforger #384: the review that led to Reforge and the fairer star map
- Starforger #43: the Summon report on Ubuntu
Your Ouroboros is waiting: update to v1.5, open any planet → Skins, and wear it on the world you like. Everyone will see it on the star map.
To get yours: leave your comment and include your Starforger number. You'll find it at the top of the star map ("you are Starforger #…"). I can only send the skin to that number, not to your itch name.
Thank you all, and see you among the stars ✨
Glad the catch-up works! And yes, as of v1.4 you can: open a planet's Status tab and use "Reshape the world" to pick a new kind (Terran, Oceanic, Arid, Glacial, Volcanic or Crystal, one per Aspect). It costs 0.1 g of Philosopher's Stone, once a week per planet, and keeps its name, grade, level, moons and alchemists, so your four Terran worlds can become a balanced set.
Hi all! AZOTH is a free idle game about alchemy and sacred geometry, and version 1.3 just went live. Play in the browser or download it for Windows, macOS and Linux: https://leluong141996.itch.io/azoth

New: Crowns of the Week, a weekly event
Every Sunday at 00:00 UTC, the star map crowns two worlds, and the crowns move on each week to whoever leads:
- The Aspect Spirits go to the Starforger with the highest cycle: six spirits in the colours of the six Aspects weave a halo of light around their world.
- The Leviathan goes to the world that won the most battles that week: a crystal serpent swims its orbit, trailing star dust.
A crowned world is larger and brighter on the map for everyone to see, and the Hall of Fame counts down to the next crowning. The first Aspect Spirits are already taken. The Leviathan is still unclaimed, so this week's battles decide its first champion.
Leaderboards (Hall of Fame)
- Crowns of the Week, with the countdown to the next crowning
- Conqueror of the Week and Conquerors (victories)
- Mightiest Worlds (alchemist power)
- Rarest Worlds and Most Advanced
- Greatest Starforgers
Click any name to fly to that world on the map.
Also new since 1.2
- Feuds: march on other players' worlds and fight right on the star map, where anyone can watch the comets fly. The winner takes Quintessence from the loser's vault.
- Battle replays: watch any past battle again full-screen, with Seals shattering, critical "Rubedo" hits and a slow-motion final blow.
- Wild Homunculus worlds appear at random and raid the bold, and Fraternities of up to five players defend a shared Lodge.
- Background play: the browser version now catches up on the time it spent in a hidden tab.
Everything is drawn and synthesized in code, the server rolls every battle and every crown, and there are no ads, accounts or purchases.

Thanks for telling me! Browsers freeze hidden tabs completely, so the web version can't truly keep running while you're on another tab. But as of v1.2.2, when you come back the game now credits you for the whole time it was hidden, at the full rate (Essence, auto-casts and your planets), not the reduced away rate. If you'd like it to genuinely run in the background, the downloadable Windows/macOS/Linux versions keep going when the window isn't focused. Your browser save carries over with the save code (☰ → Save code).

The game in short: tune six lenses to the Cosmic Aspects, let the mandala turn, and cast seventeen metals in the furnace, from Lead up to the Philosopher's Stone. The Stone forges planets on a star map shared by every player. Raise them to level 14, then raise alchemists through the ten realms of the Hermetic ascent, from Neophyte to Theosis.
New in 1.2: Feuds
- Feud or Sanctuary: keep your world safe, or declare a Feud and let it be attacked (and attack).
- Battles on the shared map: your planet flies to its target in plain sight, and the two worlds trade comets for a minute or more while anyone with the map open watches.
- Quintessence: the winner takes part of the loser's vault, which becomes rare metal back home.
- Homunculus worlds: wild worlds appear at random, linger a day or two, and raid Feud worlds. The first to beat one takes its vault.
- Fraternities: up to five players gather at a Lodge and defend it together.
- Magnum Opus: every cycle past 12 adds a little more, with titles from the Golden Dawn up to Ipsissimus.
Everything is drawn and synthesized in code (no image or audio files), the server rolls every battle so nothing can be won by editing a save, and there are no ads, accounts or purchases.

I'd love to hear what you think, especially about the Feuds and the pacing after level 14!
v1.1.1 is out with three fixes from a player review. Thank you, Starforger #384!
- Copy code in the browser now opens a box you can copy from or save as a file.
- Worlds from an edited save are off the star map, and the server now sets a minimum time per level.
- New: reforge a planet's core once a day (Planet → Status) for a chance at a higher grade.
Full notes are in the devlog.
Hi all! I just released AZOTH: The Starforger's Idle, a free idle game about alchemy and sacred geometry.
Play in the browser or download it for Windows, macOS and Linux: https://leluong141996.itch.io/azoth
Tune six lenses to the Cosmic Aspects, let the mandala turn, and cast seventeen metals in the furnace, from Lead up to the Philosopher's Stone. The Stone lets you forge planets on a star map shared by every player.
- Nothing to place by hand: every crystal lands in a symmetric slot
- Prestige by Ascension, auto-cast and offline progress
- Lore for every metal, drawn from real alchemy texts
- Generative ambient music; everything is drawn and synthesized in code
- No ads, no account, no purchases
Feedback is very welcome, especially on pacing.
