Hey there! Thanks for trying this game. Im open to hear suggestions - how would you improve camera and controls?

Yeah I know right! Genuine, detailed feedback beyond compliment is worth more than any competition rewards - it's what makes us better. find me on discord, my username is Litoid

Let's continue chatting and maybe one day in the future make games together (or game jams)

Again - thanks for trying out my game.

I think I was finally arriving at the destination and got nervous about it and BOOM. died.  haha WOW such a nice game! You guys deserve 5/5 in all areas. This is the kind of game I enjoy, play and suck, then upgrade ship and player skills by replaying and then progress - up to the point of "im almost there!"

I absolutely loved the graphics, credits to Yolandauu (who also checked my game and got me here). - I would love to make games with your art.

So here's a few notes on the game as I was playing:

• no obvious key to start game? didn't know how to "close the shop" (yep, didn't read page description. just in game)

• when going down, camera didn't display down where i was going

• no speed display, so i dont know if i get wasting fuel if i was at max speed :P

• S button to shoot? I would have preferred space bar, since W already thrust forward

I loved the shaky rocket, and the cloud-drawings... the planets.. I like space theme, the music was engaging... and even if I felt weird shooting at aliens it was like THERE THEY ARE - SHOOT! (yeh, kept spamming space bar the first tries)

Thanks for this experience :)

ooow Thank you for such a lovely comment! I'm glad you enjoyed it.

We wished we had more time to design better maps as we had more in mind :P the level designer bailed on us :o

The only game I've enjoyed from the game jam so far - thanks for this!

The music was so battle-like. It is hasty evasion, defend and attack at the same time. Nice work!

How can people even vote for this?  It's a shame the amount of votes some games are getting :\

I don't see any enjoyment from this, sorry. It's not even funny to push war like this.

I was tempted to go through because this was very inpsired by "The Saw" movie series. isn't it?

but then.. the mini games, could have been more engaging. I got stuck at the "from smallest to highest" something and I kept clicking 1 and got error many times, so i didnt know what to do and lost. was it a bug? weird thing.

Music is fine, but the sound when switching turns was too loud and mechanical. didn't fit in.

I can see this game becoming multiplayer easily :P so we can actually see what the other guy does, and at real time instead of switching turns. anyways, thanks for the game

I don't enjoy games with too much text, and the "puzzle solving" got monotonous very quickly.

I like the art and music, though. This may have potential if the puzzles were more elaborated.

This game proves the power of leaderboard. The race to the top. In 10 minutes teached top 5 and got another combo resting -  enough is enough. And saw in real time some going to 9912 at inhuman pace, I guess someone managed to hack it's turbo spacebar. No way a human can click that fast.

Anyways, the global stats, and data sync - with more metrics. I guess this absorbs analytics-based people and to be part of that contribution that I don't know if it will ever reach 0 at this pace it requires 6 days. :P

Thanks for this - it was... different. pointless at some point :P

I don't understand the hype. I found the experience boring, monotonous and expected more because it is the most rated game. I guess we can't really qualify a game by its popularity.

That's lovely to hear! I like retro games and their feeling.

I couldn't test all the checkpoint's fairness, found many, and sometimes i thought...  getting stucked by a fake checkpoint may trick the player so next time it must be avoided 😅

Thanks for enjoying it!

I did the controllers thinking of rocket league type of maneuvers - but the level design guy bailed on us.

So it didnt come out as planned...

How would you make the camera behave even in version? Free movement with mouse? Always forward related to the camera? I had those options but time was running out

Thanks for your insight. Even though the artist added LOD to make background semi invisible when bumped with camera - we had an issue: level designer silently quit.

So we had to improve with the map.

I made the controller thinking of rocket league types of map 🤷🏻 im glad you still managed to enjoy it. I believe other types of maps would have made this a better experience overall 😅

The hazard? The map? The controller?

The level design guy run away from the team so we had to improvise 🫠

Any deeper feedback is appreciated.

Granny overkilled me haha cane hit was funny. I tried to "hide in the shadows" and suck her blood.

but wait.. she defended and hit me? wtf

I thought I was handling a vampire and they bite their pray... no?

Guess not. and found a bug - Game over and player kept spawning, and granny kept beating me.

So it was game over for me - but guess granny had a bad  day :P

I liked how lighting uncovers the player, and shadows hide it. Cute thing. Granny made me laugh. Thanks

Gotta admit - I spent more time in this that I expected - well done.

First I thought this is kind of boring.. let's give it a try and see what happens.

Suddenly I noticed a bug where I picked a log and instantly sliced a ghost.

And I was like... what? I can't get hit - i must kill them?

But if I take a log - i can't slice... so I found a bug? bool for that isn't triggered too quickly?

Ghosts sound like water when they reach fire? So they are droplets ?

And then came to 100 fire timining, 84 ghosts, 218 game play... and everything started to become chaotic I didn't have more time to get logs because ghosts were spamming here.

And because I took a picture - boom. game over. So this happened right before game ended haha

A bit weird the thematic... lumberjack and ghosts.. but anyways, nice game!

I try to avoid reading other comments so my stay unbiased.

And here's my take away from it: enjoyed the moving particles after getting a few numbers. and how the sound vary a bit from each new explosion.

But got to admit. I almost quit trying to play because it didnt come to me natural where to click.

I thought I had to put the number on top of the 3... didnt notice that the red dot was the actual clicker. and if i have a number bar on the right, why repeat the ui near mouse? It was confusing O_o

then I came to the comments to see if it was only me, and after seeing reviews not related to this - i stopped reading them and spammed clicks until something worked haha (and it did).

Thanks for the game, reminds me of the very first pc games that came with windows (mine sweeper :P) but better.

I was expecting a lot when i saw Unreal lol

Anyways, i liked the background (skybox of space? ) but I noticed the ground had a glitch where i could see behind it. and also, enemies i never knew if they hit me or i hit them - they just disappeared. Didnt see any particles or visual feedback.

And the gun never reloads? hmm oh well. It's not like 4 days are enough to make a full game anyways.

thanks for participating!

Got stuck at the shooting balls machine, i think i needed to calculate lever and shooting so it go through to the next lever?

but nothing happened and i dunno what to do.

I think the game lacked feedbacks, like bat strike or walking sounds.

I liked the wall-slide - felt like Megaman games. And I was expecting the ball to damage me, but no clue.

Loved the music :) and the narrative felt promising - intrigued on what was happening next though

The double start was weird. And then 3 screens, not really sure what to do... even though it looked simple, I didnt get what was the objective to clear it. Reach 0? Avoid reaching 0?

collecting items took time, and buying 'weapons' didnt feel like buying something. didnt hear a sound feedback - i thought it was a bug - then i noticed the x0 was now x1

but -30 seconds?

hmm clarity would help. as alien, I was looking forward in this game :P

thanks for participating! it takes courage to start and deliver.

Tell me more? Have you played any car games? Because the controlled was made with Rocket League as a model. So a sphere drives as a car.

And added a game controls guide at the start 🙂

Thank you!

Im not sure if I'll make another jam anytime soon lol this felt like a one man army. We were 5 st the beginning, only 2 arrived.

Good thing we could improvised to give it an end to this - and got to deliver it. Such a nice XP.

Oh yeah somehow click stopped working after i enabled keys to select (and forgot to fix it). I'll look into that in the future. Thanks for your insight.

Thanks! The 3d modeler dida goob job with textures and materials. With gamepad it feels much more responsive due to angles being right.

How would it have been better?

Restarting didnt work? Hmm tell me more.

We had a hard decision on that camera thing - let players maneuver like a car (forward+steering) or make it easy (left is left, right is right)...

So i mimicked Rocket League control which is fun.

But we had no map to test this - the level design guy bailed on us lol

So after the controller was done, we had to improvise the map and it came out nice - but hard xD

Thanks for trying it out! I had fun making this game

Thanks for letting me know. Im very cautious with bugs - and I've spent many hours into debugging and tweaking stuff to make it playable.

Now is it enjoyable? Depends on you guys 😅 thanks for trying it out.

Eerr... game starts? music sounds, loading didn't change screen for a while.. I thought it had a bug. Then game started.

Then I wasn't sure what to do - some text guidance was hard to read so in the majority of games I couldn't see what key to press lol

It was very hasty on each section! nice music, keeps heart pumping as I tried to figure out what was going on :P Definitely not a game to play once to get it. And still, not sure how to get score? less time + better score?

Thanks for your game :)

Hey there - I personally made the controller with keyboard as priority, and then implemented the gamepad.

And it is working in my laptop - your comment made me come and turn it on to make sure it wasn't a bug...

But I noticed a weird bug "Drifting" got stuck somehow, so if it happens (can't turn) pressing Ctrl releases it.

That button activates Drifting so that you can turn faster, or sliding like a car if needed.

TL:DR >> Gamepad is not required. It's optional.

Here's proof I am here now testing it via keyboard and everything works.

Enemies = hazards to prevent ball from reaching the objectives.

The starting screen showing control guide can be closed to start game, and then everything moves.

I'm curious to see what happened in your end?

Oh yeah all those are coming - but now im focusing in the player's abilities. You can see full updates and upcoming stuff in the discord. I just added enemy with grenade throw and launching a sticky turret (and also rolls away from danger).

I have lots of things coming to this game - the actual gameplay is not done. First - the characters. Right now im designing the "Warping Hook" - think of spiderman way of moving around the city with it's web.

Anyways, yeah I dont fancy web version as it cant unlock the full potential. Might remove it but some people dont want to download an executable... which is weird... itch should enable it... or maybe make web version a "demo". just to move around, and to play the full thing - download. who knows.

Hmm about that bug - that's weird. I kind of fixed it - but please try this and let me know if it works:

• press TAB and then click Player - there you can move spells from one skill slot to another. Assign at least once on each spell slot in your hotkey bar. Close game, and retry. See if it's fixed.

I had a bug where default "saved" values didn't exist so it gives that error when first using skills - it was supposed to be fixed but it may not entirely be? Your test would confirm it and then i'll look further into it.

Yeah thanks to your feedback I reordedred the layout of weapons. from basic to advanced (not really worse to better, just different mechanics). These weapons needs balance but that's for later on.

--thanks for your comments!

P.D. yeah I kind of intend to stick to retro games where you shoot forward. if you need close combat - use X to sheathe your sword. Go take distance, roll away, turn around and shoot. It's going to be very dynamic. Aiming where mouse is kind of just turns the game in a dead brain shooter (aim shoot win combo) - but that may be just my opinion... :P

Oh! Helpful ❤️

You dont start with ultragun... Its just that it was the latest gun i added. Not sure if letting all weapons available at the beginning or make them drops / findables.

Yeah damage output was inspired on Ragnarok Online i like it too!

Never played brawhalla.. maybe i should. I was also thinking about RPG elements like level up... Like in league of legends. Start every battle with lv 1 and as you do things - you gain exp and be OP near end of game round (5 minutes). Still not sure what to do with coins hehe game very deep under development.

"Polish overall to clean some bugs* >> this! More specific can help tremendously! (Specially naming the bugs)

Btw I haven't uploaded the latest update where you have melee sword. It spins in the air and any melee attack can reflect bullets 😁

Thanks!

Would you be kind to mention what you liked the most? (And also what you liked the least) Any feedback is helpful

Ohhh hmm you got me thinking... How would i recreate a target lock... Like Zelda. So player always faces that target... Overriding mouse position when lock is on hmm interesting! Thanks for that

RNG?

Hey there thanks for your feedback!

Can you be more specific with "lacked impact"?

Do you mean bigger hit box, stronger knockback, higher damage?

I made the weapons for the ant, and we didnt get the time to balance things out - so I tried to set things the best I could (almost blindly) haha I tried to make the hitbox the same size / and lateral it's being used. So if right hand is used, it shouldnt attack enemies on the left of the ant - and so on. If it's big weapon, it hits slower but both sides.

Details that maybe not many people would notice :P

any feedback is appreciated!

Oh so cool you streamed it. I saw your gameplay. Im sorry if controls were not clear from start.

We have seen many people not knowing the controls though we showed them in the itch page before playing/downloading...

And also in-game first loading scene a hint to open inventory with TAB to see how to play again.

But we discovered that people dont read :/

So things like weapons special attack were not used (currently Q+Click - used to be Alt+Click and had issues on unity editor ... Then Ctrl+Click and had issues with web version)

And also - never changed weapons. There's 8 in total. So if you ever feel to try it again - go ahead (i heard you say you wished for a way to swap weapons :P)

Thanks for playing it and enjoying the effects!

Ohh never thought of a laptop player without a mouse. Definitely hard to play that way.. maybe unlocked a hardcore mode by doing that 🤪

I'll think of multi control options for different scenarios from now on 🙏

Hmm what do you redirect? Like refreshing a new page? Did something happen just before that?

Getting the bug cause help fix it and avoid it from happening on new games ✌️

Im glad you like it. It was a fun project to make!

What do you mean by lore?

Yeah first exit could have had any signal to make it easier to spot. You prefer ambient music or no background bgm at all?

Maybe a menu to control music/sound volumes would be helpful in these cases.

Thanks for playing!

Thanks! And it is tiny haha due to time we had to leave apart many maps, enemies, characters out.. and yet, the outcome is in fact impressive. A fun project for sure ✌️

Hey haha you tried it. Im glad you did. Its always a great idea to have unexpected things!

Like in your game the spiral stairs in the street lamp... That was ooof.

So here you have medieval weapons in primitive insects haha why not? Thats so cool about videogames. We are not attached by reality. Absolute freedom for creativity to fly.

Thanks for stopping by 🙏

Yep haha dont know the amount of total hours but i did had days with +10 hours in my pc on this. 4 in the morning, over 6 in the night. Aprox...

Every day haha and thats just me. Im sure my buddies did the same. Guess we really liked this idea. Do we did our best - this happened after you mix 3 hearts and 6 skilled hands 🤓
