I want to like this, but the pacing and difficulty in the early game is just awful. Any time past level 10, you have a very good chance of running into enemies that can outheal/outdrain/outdamage you, and there doesn't seem to be any way to run from an unwinnable fight? It certainly wasn't in the tutorial, for how necessary of a mechanic it seems to be.
