Hi, we are a team of five who may have spent the past week on the Brackeys jam instead of revising for our upcoming exams next week. We've only got 7 ratings right now and we would really appreciate some more feedback because we put a lot of time into it(that could maybe have been better spent). We totally understand if you don't have time, we are currently in that boat.
Here's our game if you want to check it out: /jam/brackeys-16/rate/4953419

Fun and creative! 3d scene with lighting was a nice touch, researching the victims was a fun gimmick and their personalities were great. Took a bit to figure out what to do, maybe a brief would have helped to know that we are trying to steal money by guessing bank passwords. Lastly the scroll wheel on DigiBook is very hard to see(I thought that each webpage was static and it cost me two attempts trying to figure out what Bob Boba's favourite book and number where before realizing DigiBook could scroll).
Cool game, love the art style so much! It would be cool to have a downloadable exe as well as the web version because, I also had an issue where the mouse did not lock into the game which made looking around extremely difficult. My primary feedback would be that it needs some JUICE to make the action more impactful. E.g. rather than hands appearing and slimes moving backward, the hands also move forward with animation, a sound effect, windy particles pushing forward and if slimes are hit damage particles(like slime chunks coming off) on the slimes and a slimy slap sound effect aswell. This could be taken even further with some camera shake for extra OOMPF. Really creative story and I would love to see some kind of post-hackathon update in the future 👀
Yep the intro is quite an exposition dump. We wanted to interpret the theme narratively as well as through the gameplay, so we decided for the main character to be living from high to high. To accomplish that and maneuver the plot from the ending of Breaking Legs 1 to the setting of this sequel, it ended up getting quite lengthy. I think we could have potentially trimmed it down a lot further If we didn't try to accomplish both of these goals in just the intro cutscene. Thanks a bunch for playing and providing some unique feedback!
