Incredible game, beautiful art style to pull people in, and then the gameplay to back it up.

Very good game! Overall I had a good time, and while it was a bit confusing in moments, even while confused the solid controls, incredible art direction, and good music all kept me moving. While the theming was visually all there, I didn't really feel anything shelly here, though the game is incredibly fun.
The first thing I have to say, and something you can pretend is repeated between every following sentence of this review is that the ground pound is SO satisfying. Sounds, particles, and camera movement all come together in a way that feels incredible. Beyond that, the camera cutaways were jarring. They took me out of character in a way that broke up the otherwise satisfying combat. The art direction was a little lacking, with no clear style that stood out to me, but certain bits (ie the fridge) were visually enticing. The sound of the legumes was grating after a while, and the combat felt a bit repetitive, but that ground pound was worth it every time.
Congratulations on your first game, that's a big hurdle and this is very polished for something like that. I enjoyed playing this game, especially later on when the shell shots (???) allowed for more choices on who to attack and when. The game is very hard as is, feeling almost like an arcade game. Loved the art style, from the sketched covers and level screens to the characters top down, very cute, and that combined with the sound were very cohesive.
