Hi everyone! I’m looking for a small group of first-time players to help test the English version of Wanxiang Duel, a free single-player wuxia card game played against the AI in your browser.

The combat uses attack/defense positions, face-down cards and a Qi resource system. There are 36 cards and custom 30-card decks, but you can start with a ready-made deck.

Play here:

If you have 5–10 minutes, please try Quick Duel with the default Qinglan Sword Starter deck. Desktop browser and mouse recommended. Training is available if you get stuck; Lesson 3 introduces counters.

I’m especially interested in three things:

1. What was the first moment when you didn’t know what to click or what a card meant?

2. Did you finish a duel? If you stopped, where and why?

3. Would you play another duel? What would make you want to, or put you off?

A short comment is enough. If the English wording is unclear, a card name or screenshot would be very helpful. Feedback in English or Chinese is welcome.

This is an early prototype. Development uses AI-assisted tools, including generated artwork. Thanks for helping me improve it!

Hi everyone! I’m working on Wanxiang Duel, a single-player card game set in a Chinese martial arts fantasy world. The browser prototype now supports English and Simplified Chinese.

The combat takes inspiration from Yu-Gi-Oh!’s attack/defense positions and face-down tactics, but uses its own Qi resource system and three-slot battlefield.

You can build a 30-card deck from 36 cards, mix Sword, Body and Neutral cards, and duel against the AI. Creatures can attack, defend or stay face-down; counters let you respond when your opponent strikes.

Play free in your browser:

I recommend starting with Quick Duel or the three Training lessons. Desktop browser and fullscreen recommended.

I’d love feedback on one thing: what was the first moment when you weren’t sure what to do? A card name or screenshot would help me improve the next version.

This is a work-in-progress prototype. Development uses AI-assisted tools, including generated artwork.
