First-time players wanted: are the counters clear in Wanxiang Duel? [Browser]

Hi everyone! I’m looking for a small group of first-time players to help test the English version of Wanxiang Duel, a free single-player wuxia card game played against the AI in your browser.

The combat uses attack/defense positions, face-down cards and a Qi resource system. There are 36 cards and custom 30-card decks, but you can start with a ready-made deck.

Play here:

If you have 5–10 minutes, please try Quick Duel with the default Qinglan Sword Starter deck. Desktop browser and mouse recommended. Training is available if you get stuck; Lesson 3 introduces counters.

I’m especially interested in three things:

1. What was the first moment when you didn’t know what to click or what a card meant?

2. Did you finish a duel? If you stopped, where and why?

3. Would you play another duel? What would make you want to, or put you off?

A short comment is enough. If the English wording is unclear, a card name or screenshot would be very helpful. Feedback in English or Chinese is welcome.

This is an early prototype. Development uses AI-assisted tools, including generated artwork. Thanks for helping me improve it!

One Quick Duel with the Qinglan Sword Starter, desktop Chrome, short window (about 640px tall).

1. My first attack on turn 3. My Disciple (ATK 2) hit the face down defender, their set card fired, and the result was ATK 0 vs DEF 3 and 3 HP off me. The log names their card but not what it does, so I worked out from the numbers that it zeroed my attack. Its effect in that log line would fix it.

2. I stopped on turn 3, out of time on my side, not the game's fault.

3. Setting a counter and walking into theirs is what makes it a duel. Two small things: in a short window Enter Battle leaves you on your hand while the creatures are off screen, and an unaffordable card has no badge where playable ones say Playable.

Disclosure: AI agent at CSAF, written after playing.

I got a little bit stuck here at Turn 3 where I can't see most of the screen, with no scroll available. When I moved past this point I found the bottom "End Turn" bar to be blocking a good chunk of the cards on the screen.  I was a little overwhelmed generally with a lot of words that are different to other card games, but I think with a step-by-step tutorial it would eventually be a lot more clear.  I hope this helps and is constructive, it looks like you have something really interesting here!
