Why do I always forget to comment on these

I really really like the visuals and the theme / setting is really unique! Sad that there's barely any gameplay though...

Just saying the gameplay with the slowing time felt a little awkward. Maybe it's just the cooldown

Oh well, still love the combat and visuals. Good luck with the jam!

Cool idea having time as health. I kinda feel the enemy collision thing is really awkward though, especially with a ranges weapon. I get that the intention is to use the arena section at the start, but most people won't do that

Character is cool and music is kind of a banger though

Good luck with da jam!

I likethe artstyle. It looks good

Sadly obviously aint finished, would've loved to see more (especially that frog boss... I think it was meant to be a frog right?) :<

oh well... still, good luck with the jam!

OK I kinda like the art / style with this one - especially the static stuff of death. It's unique

Cool idea! A tutorial explaining it would've been nice to be honest - I was a bit confused at times. And maybe the ability to hold right click instead or something (and visuals!)... basically, good idea, but polish would be very much appreciated for the future!

Kinda sucks at how short it is. It's a cool game! Good luck with the jam!!

Very rage inducing game I must say. No offense if that's by mistake!

Interesting story / idea! One that I couldn't finish because I have a skill issue and keep dying at the start. Will try again if I remember, sorry!

Good luck with the jam!!

"Stand Ready for Titanfall"

I like the concept and stuff! My main problem with the game is that you don't really have any indicator whatsoever on where the fire pits are in the destroyed variants of the level. AKA, you die a lot by having to guess where it is or is not safe within the later levels. But all that was mentioned before.

Other than that it's cool, I liked it! Very much appreciate the notice of the controls at the start. Good luck with the Jam!

this game has graced humanity

Jeez I haven't commented yet?? I love this concept and the gameplays fun! The sfx and visuals are very nice! Good luck with the jam!!

Those dang taxes though

Comparing this from the product I tested a few days (a week) ago was such a difference! I like the QOL and overall quality you'v achieved - and THANK YOU for adding a prompt of the fast forwarding stuff. Although the prompts are upside down on that one upside down time-thing lol (I kinda forgot what they were called)

Fun gameplay and nice visuals! Except ma time wasn't counted on the sky level the first time for some reason :<

I liked the ending! And overall liked the art, especially the character and mushrooms! Although maybe in the future tweak the rocks a bit, it feels awkward that they can cover a space that they can't seemingly (visually) cover

All and all, it's a fun game! Good luck with the jam!

(side note: I think "C" or smth would have been better with the dash but oh well!)

aye I recommend for next time to upload this as a web game instead, it's much more easily accessible and some people might not wanna trust a download from itch no matter how safe it could be!

(1 edit)

you probably can't change it now but for future reference try uploading the game as a web game. It's way easily accessible and some people don't want to download a random game off itch. It looks like a cool game though, good luck!

(1 edit)

aye just saying, if you still can, I recommend makin' this a web game. Or for next time. Most people don't wanna install a random file off itch, no matter how safe it may  be

Fun lil arcade game. I kinda wanna install this!

Cool visuals, very replayable. Although kinda hard. It's great!

Good luck with the jam!

(also turns out I forgot I already commented. But hey, now you get another comment!

wheres the milk? you can't just make a karlson game without milk!

Seriously this is a fun game to just move around in lol. Best luck with the jam!

Fun lil' game to pass the time, and it's a cool idea! Obviously there isn't  much to do, yet you're going to be replaying it a few times to try get a closer time.

Neat game! Good luck with the jam!

(1 edit)

how does one achieve this

(1 edit)

Man why'd yall put all the effort into a player character when you can barely see it! Aww and why hide the menu screen in the pause menu!!

This is a cool idea, I like the levels you've created! Harder, more complex ones would have been cool but I understand there's an obvious time crunch here, and this is just a Jam anyways, where shorter games are very much appreciated by some. Maybe if you decide to work on it more!

Although, in the lava wall level (level 5) you kind of just clip out the map since the lava doesn't kill you lol. And I was kinda confused with what I could pick up (because of the other props), but I quickly figured out it was only the cube.

Level 6 was definitely my fav, forced you to be creative

Really good for a first game! Good luck with your journey and the jam!

oh I love the art style and color choice (Color.GREEN). Amazing art on the Major.

I'm mixed about the gameplay. I like the time slow thing except I feel you don't really need it, and you can do just fine without it. It is fun to shoot a bunch in your bubble then watch your target get obliterated though! I do have to admit this game's combat is fun!

Also maybe the auto-deploy thing should be it's own separate charge idk

I like the concept of the sponsorship stuff - if the game is expanded upon, maybe they could be real corporations tryina buy you out. But In my limited time playing I couldn't find freighters nor fuel. That might just be me.

Also as others have mentioned,  you're health just stays at zero after you die lol. Very easy to do that stuff believe me! And luckily easy to bypass (reloading the page), but sadly might draw some people away from continuing to

I like how you added a mining element with the asteroids in term for energy though (although I feel the asteroids are too tanky lol)

This is a cool game though, I love the arcade aesthetic. Reminds me of the game Asteroids

(and as one said before me) Good luck with the voting, soldier!

I like the artsyle and sfx! It's a cool concept and the "flow" stuff just makes it better. Although maybe the rocks should update everytime you move instead of moving automatically down the streams.

The difficulty spike after level 2 I found is very real lol. I just couldn't find a way to move the rock in the final level - it'll keep getting stuck on corners. I'm probably missing something. I couldn't really do the 4th level either. I always got so close too!

Really cool concept and charming art style but I felt it was a tad bit difficult lol

Good luck with da jam!

Kinda confused on what's happening here: I get money from my troops killing enemies, then I upgrade. Then my guys just walk off the screen to never be seen again lol

Might just be a me issue. Or maybe the game isn't finished? I like the idea but I just have no idea what's happening lol.

I like the diamond guy animation though. It's just sasfiying for me for some weird reason

Read in the other comment that you were hoping to work on this more: Good luck!! And yes scope is very dangerous lol. In a game jam like this you'll often have to compromise

This game is so fun! I love the idea and gameplay. Just a fun lil arcade game to spend a bit of time on. It's kind of difficult too, which is a good thing! Good luck with the Jam!

I  like the concept! Except I couldn't really pass the final door in the first level for some reason. Might just be a skill issue on my part, but the button wouldn't activate whatever I put on it. Thus, this comment is based off only the first level.

I like the concept of the literal flow of time though. But get why it makes you bigger. Maybe you just grow bigger the longer you live and that accelerates your age or something. Thats my idea of it.

Neat idea, good luck with the jam!!

The shortness of the game was totally planned... yeah that's it it was alll part of my plan

I didn't know about the running-pressing lever thing. Seemed to be fine with me... probably just some weird web build thing

I don't have that much experience with art so thus the lack of inspiration; I agree with the teleport pad thing but I didn't think it'll be that big of an issue at the time :<

But oh well can't fix that for the jam now

Honestly (as same as all the other reviews) thank you!

(2 edits)

Thank you! (And yeah time is definitely the biggest crunch :< (well obviously this is a game jam))

Mainly replying here to say both thank you and because I want to say your game is really unique I love it and the idea!

I love the mechanics and visuals, and just the idea. Again, the artstyle is great! And I love how unique this idea is.

And a whole 16 levels dang. Those levels where you control the platform to try and keep the guy on it are hard at first though... although easy to master

The games fun, with needing to memorize when everything is so your little guy doesn't explode in a million pieces.

This deserves more recognition. Good luck!

Aye thanks man! Yeah I agree the game is pretty short, mainly due to both time and me. I originally planned a 5th level but oh well!

Also just saying your game is sick, I love the concept

(2 edits)

Aw man I should've made it harder

Aight new update you got 10 seconds to finish it + its 2 times longer now

(2 edits)

I mean that's the intention... but also if you're like really fast it's not completely impossible ;>

Anyways Ty!

10.25 seconds ... this game is cool, I like the art!

the karlson movement is peak

(2 edits)

Turns out Godot has a feature to fix this, and thus the issue has since been fixed. I love you Godot!

Also, I modified the second level that day so that might've been why you couldn't recreate it

Ty!

This is so sick dude! My only complaint is that all your work gets reset when you die, which is a bit annoying.

Good luck!

Aye thanks!

It's always that second level isn't it

Anyways thank you!

(always I hate to be that guy but are you talking sarcastically about the inclined planes or not. I'm sorry I'm kinda braindead today)

Thank you! Although I think I'll only be able to add a couple more levels in time. And I'll try to address the timer thing (it'll probably just be text)
