this might be for you! as realistic as it gets (as in, there's a 70% chance some of these events actually happened???)

very cruel. and also very beautiful.
thank you so much for your comment, feels visceral. i think it's exactly that traumatic quality of coming of age -- changing in an irreversible way, or as you've beautifully put it, being left behind by what "normal" is.
this is certainly a feeling i've carried around and i'm very happy you found it in there, too. thank you.
hi and thanks so much!
this is such a late reply, but i'm really glad you liked it. thank you for the note about the builds -- honestly, i kinda assumed it would be more accessible online, because it's such a hassle to download 500 jam games? turns out people aren't as lazy as me, lol! it's probably too late now, but i'll make sure to include downloadable builds in the future.
also - thanks for the Who's Lila rec -- i've never seen it and it finally provided a word for what i like so much -- ditherpunk!!
thank you for playing and for commenting, it means the world to us.
super late reply but hi, thanks so much!
i think i can speak for myself and my co-author here, that the self-discovery through tumblr and writing was such a formative experience that we really wanted to include it. i'm really happy to see that this seems to be something we collectively share and a lot of people can relate to it.
your web comment is spot on. those kinds of relationships trap you and choke you and make it seem like they're your whole world, while actively blocking the whole world from you. i'm glad this "trap" quality was noticeable. it's all so tangly.
as for the build - you're right! i'm going to include it. honestly my logic here was -- it will be easier for people to access it online, than to download. as i've learned now from the comments, turns out it's not the case!
and as for the sound -- there were plans to do a whole soundtrack. i wanted to record it myself, but didn't take into account that it was our very first game jam. as it turned out, writing, rewriting and editing took us like 90% of the time and we were nearly late to submit at all, and we had to abandon a lot of features we planned. sound was one of the unfortunate victims. we also made the UI first and then never touched it again, so i completely forgot the sound was even there...
as you can see, we had a lot of small hiccups on the way, but i'm glad we managed to finish it at all! feels great to be able to do it and be a part of the jam with all of you.
thank you for playing, and thank you for your notes -- they're all very helpful.
