I’ll certainly think about it, but I can’t promise anything. I’m working on the project alone, and supporting multiple platforms would significantly drag out the game’s development process.
If I understand you correctly, you'd like to be able to play the game for free in HTML5 format? Right now, the game is available to download for free on this page as an executable file. The purchase option is only there to support the creator. It's greatly appreciated, but absolutely not mandatory!
*IMPORTANT* If the game crashes to the disclaimer screen when you start it, try deleting your old save files located at "USER/AppData/Local/DoublePlayer"; you will find a folder named "Save" there—delete it entirely. (I am still investigating the cause of this issue.) This should resolve the problem; however, if you encounter a different issue, please leave a comment on the project page—this helps me improve the project.
I can't say for sure, as I didn't write such characters into the main storyline; however, if there is significant interest in this concept, I could create side quests involving them. That said, at this stage of development, my primary focus is on fleshing out the core mechanics.
