Thanks! I don't have confirmed rare-material or special weapon-effect plans to announce yet. The current focus is making the crafting process and equipment changes visible: forging and quenching, then seeing the armor or weapon on the same character in combat.

For later progression, which would you find more rewarding: a rare material giving gear a distinctive appearance, or a special property that changes how you use it?

FORGEWORN is a fantasy skilling RPG I’m developing for PC, with Steam planned as the primary release platform. I want the time spent developing skills to show in the supplies you make, the equipment your character wears, and how you prepare for a fight.

This thread will follow the project as it develops. The current gameplay teaser shows the smithing sequence through hammering and quenching, bronze armor in melee combat, and a switch to ranged gear with a bow.

The recent focus has been making those activities and equipment changes readable: a bar going from the forge to the cooling trough, distinct armor silhouettes, and a visible change in combat style. These are scenes from the running development build.

Watch the 34-second gameplay teaser:

What makes crafting your own equipment satisfying to you: seeing the appearance change, choosing useful properties, or working toward a difficult recipe? I’d like to hear which part keeps you invested in a skilling RPG.

There’s no public demo or announced release date yet. We’re starting an early community for gameplay previews, development discussion, and future playtest announcements.
