Beauty, mate! I will add it to the public list of games using Tiny RPG assets :D

Yeah, I might go with tinting + snapping - especially now that I understand better how to do quantization/snapping after implementing dithcam. This will drastically reduce the number of sprites, as well as giving far more options to the person making their characters. I will have to test how the snapping will behave, might even use that for skin recolouring. Nonetheless, I digress!

Yup, you are correct, just add the new sprite sheet. Remember to create a copy of said sheet for every body/shape, as well as for the facesets. The naming should be the same across all folders.

Thank you, mate! Lots of missmatches to fix, it seems. I am still thinking about, eventually, implementing a colour swap - with a fixed colour table - instead of having multiple coloured sprite. It would keep things smaller, plus, reduce the chance of miss match. That or, perhaps, tinting with colour snapping/quantization, so I keep the palette clean and aligned with the overall style.

Thank you a mil for the bug report, mate! When doing lots of sprites it is easy to overlook colour missmatch and such. I will fix those ASAP and push it together with the update :D Just yesterday I wrapped up all the bottom parts for the new animations. It is taking a bit, but the update will come sooner than later.

Glad you are diggin it. Have a great day mate!

Not yet, since I am having to juggle between the update and daily commissioned work. I, however, want to release it before the year is done.

Hmmm got you, you might be looking for something a bit more final fantasy-esque - thinking specifically about FF6, Amano’s artwork for monsters were really dark for that one. That is definitely a different vibe from my current stuff - not that I am not interested on making dark fantasy, mind you, but there is just so much one can do, right?

I also take commissioned work, yes! :) And pricing is flexible, if you want to discuss this further, hit me up at gabriel.lima@cogmonkeys.com at your convenience. I check the mail daily, so I can get back to you in a jiffy.

Now, for animating the current front view battlers, I will keep that in my mind because it might spice up it a bit a be more attractive to potential customers!

They are sideview, yes! Well, one could argue you could use the monsters as Front View battlers, buuuut if you are going for a strict view it wouldn’t look that great.

Now that you asked, do you reckon that adding just a tad bit of animation to the Front View battlers - even if I don’t cover all the actions, just an idle stance - might be interesting?

Glad to hear that, mate! I am roughly at 25% of it - lots of sprites to make. Slower than I would like, but it is coming together. Stay tuned for more! :D

Thank you, mate! That is really appreciated.

And yeah, lots of unforseen bugs. Never expected someone having a resolution so high it would break the whole UI, for one lol

It is definitely on the list!

Yet today I will publish an update to address some UI re-scaling issues. For the video feature I will have to replace the current camera implementation - which has to happen since, I want to deploy for iOS as well. The alternative implementation gives me a raw footage, which can be used to make videos - although I will have to put a few limitations regarding length and format since Godot has nothing dedicated to video encoding and compression.

Glad it will be of help! I hope to have some more spare time in the near future to bring updates to the tool, I have so much planned for it. Nonetheless, thank you for your support and stay tuned in for some cool new stuff!

I have just flipped it on once again! :D

Let’s a go!

Thanks, mate! :D

It is permanent in a way. Since I have to setup a promo - which can’t run indefinitely - there is a window for you to get the special discount. But every now and then I renew the promo, so people can still get the Printer at 90% discount if they have both items :D

Awesome! :D If you drop the link below I will add it to the list of games using my assets

EDIT: And it’s-a me, mate :D it took me a moment to realize who you are lol

Thank you so much! I am glad you are digging it. This reminds me that I should add the palette to the files as well, so people editing anything can easily add new stuff that stays in sync with everything else.

Oh, but I do sell the UI already! The UI content on the sample image is the same found on the Battle Kit I :D

Oh maaan, what a banger article. It is so great to see your stuff featured - and mine as well - it so rewarding. Also a cool interview sharing a bit of insight about your game/tool development roadmap and the bumps you met along the way - even if gamedev is still a hobby for now.

Thank you so much for spreading the word around :D hope that is just the beginning for both of us.

Thank you so much for your words!

Hmmmmm this gives me food for thought. Thank you for your input, mate! :D

Hmmmm might even be worthy to have a batch randomizer. What do you think? Like, okay, you woulnd’t be able to check all of them when generated, but might be useful to have the tool generate an X amount of random characters without you having to randomize each one of them.

That is actually a great idea and it surprises me that not only I haven’t tought about that as well as no one else has suggested it before. Absolutely doable! :) Thank you for the input and suggestion

Hmmmm, I see. My bad, didn’t read the full link, thought it to be an itch page lol nonetheless, it is great to see the assets in action in a bigger project. The tilesets don’t get enough love - I am about to make 48x48 version of those to see if people who use RPGMaker are more interest in them. Not that you can’t use 32, but it requires some settings/files to be changed. Nonetheless, I digress!

Amazing work once again! :D I haven’t added this particular demo to the list yet - but both the Pixel Tools and PixUI are already there.

Aiiight, eager for that! :D

Hey there! So happy to hear that. I would love to see them! :D

FUCK YEH!

That is amazing mate, I am so happy for you. It is rewarding, ain’t it? :D That is a job well done.

You are absolutely right and the assets worked better than I expected, must I say! This is so rewarding, to see people using that stuff in creative ways, having the feeling that this art is enabling people to achieve their goals. Thank you for sharing, mate! :)

That is absolutely perfect, mate. Thank you so much for this exchange! :D

This is looking great! Such an amazing use case for my assets, didn’t expect to see them on a bullet hell. I am adding it to the public list of projects using the Tiny RPG series! :)

Wow, thank you a bunch, mate!

Yeah, on the long run I might add those to make the fonts more complete, so more people can use then on their games without trying to figure out what font would match while making their localisation.

Aight, I will hold you to that promise if I get to that! :D

Wow mate, moving away with your family all of the sudden and learning a new language is no small feat, kudos to you, I know how hard it gets. I also feel the same regarding too far-stretched plan, almost 40 and learned - the hard way - to take one step at a time and see how things work out before commiting to anything longer than a year.

Thank you for your feedback on the font! I will take a look on how you did it and get a better understanding of what is missing and what can be improved for future fonts. I will also take a look on how many cyrillic symbols I would have to make and asses if it is feasible.

Oh yeah, regarding all the licensing stuff, you are grand, mate! I am glad that we got to talk to each other thanks to the bundle, it is refreshing to see a fellow dev having so much to do with my stuff. :) Reach out to me whenever you have questions, suggestions or anything in between. All the best and keep me updated on your projects!

I appreciate you coming forward to ask more about the license! It is, indeed, CC-BY. I actually should write my own license for these since the only no-no for me is people re-selling these assets and/or claiming these are of their own making. But yeah, add the credit anywhere you find it plausible/feasible - no nitpicking there - and we are gold, redistribute it with your tool to your heart’s content!

I really like that you have a very solid plan set and I am more than happy to be able to contribute to it in such a small manner. If you need more complex proof of concepts I will gladly hand you a key for each full tileset I have now and a couple more there are to come - but, for these, I would ask to not redistribute the full version, of course.

Let me know your thoughts!

Oh yeah, also let me know if you find any weirdness on the fonts. I am still a newbie when talking about fonts and I know that some improvements can be made, especially regarding the kerning pairs.

Forgot to change from Draft to Published -_- my bad, just did so now.

I do! Let me turn on the promo discount for people owning any of those, check it back in a few.

Awesoooome! Adding it to the public list right now :D

This is looking amazing already! I deeply respect people that take out some of their time to deliver tools for the community, free of charge. GUI will always be a huge issue while game developing, it is so good to have resposive solutions. Kudos to you, mate! As soon as the link isn’t a secret link anymore I will add it to the list of projects using the Tiny RPG assets.

Thank you once again for your hard work and support!

You humble me, mate! Thank you so much for your kind words. I try to give something back to the community that helps me grow, thus I push CC0 whenever I can - mostly fonts and GUI, but I am planning on adding a bit more to the pool.

And please, let me know whenever it is a go! If you use any of my assets on your projects, just drop a link and I will add it to the public list on my profile :D Thank you for linking back to me, it helps me immensely!

Glad you liked it, mate!
