The newer format has no padding between tiles, but does have empty tiles so that the sheet can be laid out logically and you can figure out how each tile should be used at a glance.

All the tiles are grid-aligned, so they can be imported into pretty much any tool. I'll let you know when the update is ready in Sept!

Hey, thank you for the feedback. Updating my older tilesets to use a more friendly spritesheet format is on my to-do list, and I expect to be able to perform the updates in September. My newer tilesets do use an intuitive format with no spacing between tiles, and are compatible out-of-the-box with any engine, no metadata parsing required.

Hi again- This tileset uses an older format, and you would need to write some code to parse the spritesheet's metadata to use it in a project. I will put it on my to-do list to update it in the future so it can be more easily used with tools like Sprite Fusion.

The Super Pixel Laboratory tileset uses a newer format similar to Super Pixel Sewer and should be compatible with most tools. Thanks for asking!

Project order can be explicitly specified - You can drag and drop the order of projects contained in the bundle when editing to ensure you get the desired presentation on your publicly facing bundle page.

Can we also get this functionality for solo sales and bundles? I often run an "everything" sale and have a lot of projects, and they end up being displayed in a fixed chronological order from oldest to newest. I'd love to be able to show my newest work first at the top of my sales!

Hey there- Glad you like the monsters! They are designed for platformer games or RPG battles, so they have kind of a straight-on perspective as opposed to a more overhead perspective. That means I can't easily draw a couple new directions, it wouldn't work out well. I'll put 4-direction monsters with an overhead perspective on my idea list for the future!

You can still re-download any packs which you've claimed on itch. For this pack, I would have to give you a key manually and then you would be able to get future updates, yes. For most other packs, it's more automatic- You connect your itch/Patreon accounts, find a pack you like here, click the patron-only link, and it should be added to your itch account. This pack works differently on itch's end because of the way it's set up as a free/paid hybrid. On Patreon, I believe once you stop being a member then you would lose access to the downloads from Patreon, unless you had specifically purchased the pack there, which is also possible.

Great question! For this pack, the only difference is that you'd download the asset pack from Patreon instead of from itch. For patrons, I give out itch keys manually for this pack on request since it works a little differently than other packs on itch's end. For almost all other packs, connecting your itch and Patreon accounts lets you download and claim the pack on itch. Becoming a patron also means you'll get access to new packs when I publish them. If you pledge on Patreon and then cancel later, you still get to use all the asset packs you've downloaded- You own them.

In the end, it's just two different ways to support and get the art, and it's your choice! Some folks like to support on Patreon and stay in the loop and help me make more art, while others prefer a one-time purchase or prefer not to set up an additional account. It should be compatible- What I'm seeing says that you can upload images and use them in your Scratch programs. I'm not sure on the specifics of loading and playing an animation, but I would guess it is supported.

Hi there- Yes, you can use them wherever you like provided you give attribution according to the license! That can be in a credits section, in a description, or however you need it to be to make it work. I haven't heard of PenguinMod specifically but the assets are designed to be universally compatible with any engine.

Yes- This tileset and the other Super Pixel tilesets have a spritesheet format that is designed to work with any engine / app. You can drag/drop the spritesheet into Sprite Fusion and it will import it!

Thank you! These tilesets are currently in an older format which requires you to parse the texture atlas metadata, as the spritesheets do not have aligned tiles. However, you can drag/drop the individual tile PNGs into Sprite Fusion and it will be able to import the pieces which are multiples of the tile size.

In the future, I'll update this asset pack to use my newer spritesheet format, which will make them much easier to use. I have more tilesets here which are newer!

Hey there- With a lot of work, probably. I've never worked with the Game Boy, but you'd have to process the tileset first to make it compatible with the limited color palette. This tileset also uses 16x16 tiles, which are a little big for the GB's small resolution, but it's not impossible. I'd recommend creating a tileset from scratch for that purpose.

Hi there! The fonts used in the sample images are custom pixel art fonts which I've drawn, but they're not available for sale. I don't currently have a workflow that can get them from sprite fonts to the more widely-used TTF or OTF formats.

Hey, great question! The Gigapack included a selection of 34 of my favorite effects from the other packs in its initial release, and after that every effect added has been unique to the Gigapack. There are currently 120 effect animation types in the Gigapack, so 86 are new since then!

A lot of different inspirations! Some of the tilesets were made before I kind of nailed down my style, which is SNES-inspired. You can see some Megaman influence, Metroid influence, DKC influence, and more. These tilesets were initially released as separate products over a series of years, and then I bundled them together later on.

Hi there! The effect you're looking at is included in the paid version only, and is located at "Magic Bursts/directional_heart_burst_001".

Currently the only free heart-themed effect is "Magic Bursts/round_heart_burst_001". I'll try and do some more for the free version!

Hi there! The GDM version's tiles are identical to the itch version's tiles. There are no north/south/east/west corners. By definition, the corner tiles may only be northwest/northeast/southwest/southeast. The directions refer to the two compass directions the corner faces, and those four corners are included.

This tileset is using my old export format- At some point I will come back and update this tileset to have a better / more usable structure, as I realize the tiles are currently difficult to use in tile-based editors (e.g. Tiled).

How would it sound if in addition to the complete download, I started adding zip files for just the new stuff in each pack, and kept the last three available? So like, if 1.7.0 was just released, then there would also be "New in 1.5.0", "New in 1.6.0", and "New in 1.7.0" zips, just for the paid version? I don't want to cause confusion in the download section, but if I label them clearly enough it might work.

The animations are provided as PNG sequences and are designed to be played at 15 FPS. I will update the asset list in the future to contain info on number of frames per animation. PNG spritesheets for each animation are also included.

Hey, that's me! Thank you for enjoying the Speed Spriting videos! I would do more, but it's a lot of unpaid work to do all the video editing + commentary, plus music, thumbnails, etc. Instead, I've been refocusing on building my pixel art business and making games, with infrequent check-ins on Youtube. Recently did a devlog video for the new version of my game. I'm really glad folks enjoyed the pixel art time-lapse videos though- Maybe they can return in some form someday.
