Alright, thank you for feedback, I am working on fixing it right now :3

Thanks! :3
There shouldn’t be 4 enemies at the start, so I’ll look into it.

Right now it’s more of a demo with just one map. I’m planning to add more maps in the future, but I’m starting to think that might not be the main problem. Maybe it’s more about how repetitive each run feels.

What do you think I should add to make the runs more interesting?

Hey, thanks for being straightforward with me! I can definitely add more elements to the maps. I’m actually planning to work on that right now.

As for the skills, since it’s a turn based game, I guess the problem is that there isn’t much strategy involved right now. Maybe there isn’t a clear enough challenge to overcome, and the upgrades aren’t helping much with that either.

Would you mind telling me a bit more about your experience when you played the game? Like how many rounds you played, whether you made it to the boss, and what you were expecting when you started playing. That would really help me understand what feels off.

Hello! I’ve updated the game. If you have some time, could you test it again and let me know what you think? :'3

I’m still working on the stamina recovery issue too, so I’ll keep working on that.

Hey! I’ve updated the game based on your feedback. If you have a chance, could you please test it again and let me know how it feels? :3

I’ve been working through the feedback from here and other places, and made quite a few changes to Crawlbound:

• Reworked progression with less frequent level ups, only 1 challenge choice at a time, and a new upgrade tree UI
• Improved game feel with better hit and death feedback, plus rebalanced enemy stats and numbers
• Added new stamina recovery upgrades and fixed some stamina display issues
• Added settings both in and out of the game, along with a new stat upgrade popup
• Fixed the upgrade crash, hopefully for good, and added better error logging
• Added a UI showing your blessings and how many turns until they activate
• A bunch of other small fixes, like draggable health bar bug

Any feedback is welcome. If you have time, a rating would also really help. Just rate it whatever you think is fair.

Thanks for the detailed feedback!

I guess I should make the error choice limited to one per level, otherwise, people will just pick all three for optimal play, which could make the game more frustrating. I’ll also make the dark room section less annoying.

The upgrade tree bug seems pretty critical. I haven’t encountered it myself yet, so I’m still investigating it. I’ll upload an additional desktop build then :'3

Thank you for the feedback! :3

I’ll look into the bug. I think I should also add a way for players to recover stamina during a run. Maybe it could be an upgrade node, or perhaps enemies could occasionally drop stamina potions.

Thank you for pointing this out! I’ll definitely make a note of it.

Hi everyone!

I just released a new build of my game Crawlbound on itch.io, and I’m looking for playtesters!

If you have a few minutes, I’d love for you to give it a try and share some constructive feedback. It’s playable directly in your browser, so there’s nothing to download or install.

About the game

Crawlbound is a grid based roguelite where you’ll need to exploit game altering bugs to survive.

Fight enemies, collect loot and XP, level up, and see how far you can make it through the dungeon. Each time you level up, you’ll get a random upgrade with varying rarities, so every run can play out differently.

Play it here: https://veih.itch.io/crawlbound

Any feedback is greatly appreciated, especially your thoughts on gameplay, balance, bugs, difficulty, and overall fun factor.

Thanks for checking it out!

Love this. Pico-8 has a great constrained vibe, but sometimes it feels too strict. Love2D gives you tons of freedom, but it can also feel like you have to build everything yourself. This feels like a really nice middle ground :3

Thanks a million! I’m a big fan of your projects :3

Cool project! Are you still working on it? I have always wanted an engine like this.

Thanks, I'm glad you like it. The bugs seem to happen when you keep pressing to move. I'm not sure why it happened, and I can't really fix it since I didn't code anything in Bitsy.

I will try to rebuild and expand the game in a different engine in the future when I have time.

Thanks for the feedback! Sadly, nobody has made a game using my assets yet. I might need to create a game demo using them.

The good news is, I've actually made my first sales, so that's something. This means I can keep working on the assets more.

I have added 81 new items, focusing on kitchenware and meats. Future updates will include vegetables, cakes, candy, and so on...

And I also changed the screenshots picture to hopefully show the size of the project until now and people feel like they get good value for their money.

Also, let me know what kind of items you want in your game. I will try to have them updated as soon as possible.

Hey, thanks a lot for the feedback :3

Yeah, since items are easier to make than other types of assets, there is a lot of competition.

I think you are right about the banner, so I changed it a bit by adding the word "items" to make it clearer what to expect. It’s not a huge improvement, but every little thing helps. You might be right about the price as well, I can try lowering the standard price to $3. My main goal for now is to get as many people as possible to check out the pack.

Hello everyone,

I am seeking feedback on a new Pixel Asset Pack I’m currently working on. It's a collection of 16x16 pixel items for your game. If this asset pack is well-received, I plan to continue working on it and turn it into a series of packs.

There is a free demo version available for download, which contains 45 out of the current 162 items.

Also, I would appreciate your thoughts on the cover art of the asset pack. After checking the analysis, I found that the Click-Through Rate is only 1.20%. I’m unsure if this is a good or bad statistic.

Here is the link to my asset pack:

I'm glad you liked it! I aim to replicate this style in future projects as well.

Hey, thanks for the feedback! It's been super helpful, and it's given me a lot to think about. Your insights have made me aware of several areas where I can make improvements, and I'm excited to implement them. Thanks again for taking the time to share your thoughts – it means a lot to me!

Hello everyone, I'm a newcomer to selling asset packs on itch.io, and my project page hasn't garnered much attention yet. I would be grateful for any feedback on the project page or any suggestions to enhance its visibility.

Thanks a lot!

I appreciate it. The font I use is Equipment in Humble Fonts, you can find it here.

Thank you for awesome music! I've used it in my game :3

Hello!

I'm interested in the 2D Concept artist position.

Is this a paid job/project?

Hello, I am a 2D digital artist. I can do both character and environment.

Although I do not specialize in pixel art, I believe my experience in 2D art can greatly help.

You can see my work here: https://www.deviantart.com/ueihart/gallery

I hope you are interested and we can work together.

This message may seem like self-promotion, but I sincerely want to offer my assistance with your game. I'm genuinely interested in your project and I can sense that you've poured your heart and soul into it. If you need any assistance with background or character (without using AI), I'm more than happy to help.

Here is my portfolio: https://veihart.artstation.com/

Feel free to email me: ueihemag@gmail.com or DM in my Discord: .veih

Sorry, I have a question. Will all game backgrounds be made using AI?

Thank you for the detailed feedback, a lot of things you said really valuable for me. I will do my best to refine the game, enemies attack from off screen is also an issue I still try to fix ( ̄ω ̄ )

I just released my first game, I want this game to be hard because it is quite short, but sometime I found it a bit easy, maybe because I tested it for hundreds of time to fix bugs so I just get better at it ?  I'd really appreciate if you could take a look at it and give me a few advices on the gameplay. Please let me know if you have any ideals to make the game more fun ( ̄▽ ̄).

I finally finished my first game. The process was both fun and painful. I just glad I able to finish what I started.

The game is a 2D shooter platformer where you try to survive waves of enemies.

The game will look a bit difference now

The game is out now, it still pretty rough and need some adjustment. But it's basically done. It will have a mobile version with some more updates in the future. If you like this, you can follow me on social media for the mobile version release date and future projects.
