Well basically you’re right that it’s definitely possible in a browser. The issue is just that my game was built as a desktop app, so adapting it properly would require more work than simply exporting it to web.
It’s a bit like converting a petrol car to electric - the end result is possible, but you can’t just swap one part and call it done.
Thanks for understanding!

I looked into it a bit more, and unfortunately a browser version would take more work than I can commit to right now. It’s not just a different export: I’d need to change how the game loads its data and saves settings, optimize the character graphics for browser memory and download sizes, and test the simulations and controls across browsers. Even without custom character support, that’s quite a bit of work for a separate demo.
If downloading an unfamiliar executable is part of your concern, I completely understand. Quite a few people have already downloaded the game, and I haven’t received any reports of security issues. That’s reassuring, though of course download numbers alone aren’t proof of safety, and I wouldn’t expect you to download something you’re not comfortable with.
For now, I’m sticking with the downloadable version. Thanks for understanding!
Probably not, at least for now.
I don't really know how to make a browser version, and I don't have enough free time to learn how to do it properly at the moment. (I spent it all to create downloadable version)
Also, one of the main things I wanted Height Shift to have is the ability to bring your own characters and customize the game with your own files, which would be much harder to make work nicely in a browser.
So I definitely wouldn't expect a browser version in the next few months, and honestly I'm not sure if I'll ever make one. For now I'm sticking with the downloadable version :)
