i downloaded a game named 'one hall' that looked like a P.T game, downloaded it, clicked the executable to start the game, instead of starting the game, it opened an admin command thing that is probably still trying to fuck my pc (open each time i open my pc) and it have forced installed and started the game 'Nightmare files : Clap-Clap', moment game opened, anti virus gone mad about a trojan horse, and when i gone to search back for that 'one hall' game, it was gone, but Clap-Clap is still here and in the popular new games, so yea, i think we should check that Clap-Clap game dev who is probably having fun fucking lot of people pc right now

It's a shame what happened to you. The problem is that some developers have no scruples or respect for anyone but themselves.

I am answering you, because this forum is public and it is maybe anyone from the staff will see it and answer you here. The best thing would be for you to contact support directly and make a report, that way it is easier for the staff to become aware of the case and take action than by posting here.

OP downloaded a fake game that was quarantined in the meantime. That is why it's gone. It looks like a hacked account of a hobby dev that has some regular fan games on it and some fake games uploaded by the hacker.

This is not about any dev lacking respect. It is a plain malware scam. Itch is a honey pot and their scanners and hacking detection might just as well not exist at all. Or how many hacked accounts are acceptable? Because I see about ten per week without trying. Sometimes more.

Anyways, you do not need discord for the things described in the warnings about the try my game on discord scam. You need only upload it on Itch and wait.

Sooo. If I were to make a malware, AB and would have it download a pirated verson or malware disguising as game XY, you would go to the site of original game XY and complain there?

Because this is what you bascially did. You downloaded a thing you called one hall, without telling us where you got it from and this thing did bad stuff, but instead of blaming this thing, you blame something else. Clap Clap is as of this writing on place 3 of popular games on itch. It has over 200 ratings and a vibrant comment section. Do you really think for a second that this game is malware?! I mean, sure, the dev could have been hacked and the files been compromised ... but the last update was 30 days ago.

Since I managed to find the offending thing: it really was malware disguising with those clap clap files. Maybe change your comment on the clap game to notify fans of the game that their clap game has been used for malware disguising and they should be wary when seeing it elsewhere. On the other hand, this happens to most popular and many unpopular games at one point or another.

Oh, and if you still have access to your account, I hope you realize that ALL your stored login information on all your browsers are not to be trusted as of now. This includes stored passwords and stored sessions, like your discord or itch account.

i got it here genius, why whould i come tell about it on itch.io, you smell like your the type of people to just assume everyone is brain dead and your the only intelligent guy on earth, and i blam Clap-Clap cause Clap-Clap was LITERALY entirely in the virus, like straigh up full game, not a fake copy, not a virus named clap clap, straigh up it downloaded and launched clap-clap, and the virus apeared when clap-clap opened, not before

It does not look like you got it, since you did not remove your slander from the clap game. They are a victim and not the criminal here.

Someone stole the clap game, and used a hacked account to upload several infected games. There was a small blunder where the criminal re-used the clap files as the hall game scam page - or maybe he just did not care.

Then you downloaded the game.

In the meantime the fake game got quarantined.

Your scanner hopefully prevented the worst and alerted you.

Then you searched the game again, did not find it, but you found the game that was stolen and used as a trojan horse.

And promptly complained on the comment section of that game, slandering it.

Do you have issues with the term fake? The page was fake in the sense that it was not made by the developer of the game, but by a criminal impersonating an indie developer. On a hacked account from a real developer no less. The software is of course real. But it is modified. If you still have the downloaded file or a protocoll of it, check the file size. The game is pay what you want. It is a 175MB zip file. What did you download? 179 MB or something similar I guess.
