How does the game fit the theme?
No idea who to trust when everyone has a truth to tell
A friendly narrator welcomes you. A tiny companion named Pip points the way. Signs on the wall tell you what's safe. The UI gives you an objective.
Now here's the catch: none of them agree.
The narrator says the door is dangerous. The UI tells you to open it anyway. The sign says stay out. Pip just points and shrugs.
The WelcomeBack[Player] is a short psychological exploration game about the one thing you can never fully verify: who's telling you the truth. It starts funny. It stays funny for a while. And then, somewhere around the mirror room, you'll start wondering if the game itself has been playing you the whole time.
Made For the Game Jam and then who Is Actually Playing Whog?
What code and assets did you not make from scratch during the jam (if any)?
A tad of code with Co-Pilot

The whole game feels like a fever dream, I think the map is well designed, but the levels are a bit confusing. I move on to the next room without really knowing what I did. Maybe there should be easier levels to introduce the core mechanic of the game, so it isn't that confusing. Other than that, the narration is done pretty well. you could definitely keep doing this in your future games!
Thank you so much for the feedback!!
its specific and I learn a looooooot, thank you thank you!
Loved the voiceover! The sensory overload from all the simultaneous clues was overwhelming in the best way possible. Sadly, it threw off my focus enough that I got stuck on puzzle three, but I still had a blast with it!
Very weird game design. I never knew what I really did. I got stuck at the second code riddle, as I wasn't able to find the number 8 and 9 to type in. Only 2, 3, 4, and 5.
With the voice over you tried something like "The Stanley Parable", no? It was the best part of it. The art was probably not there due to time constraints and the used audio felt off at some points. The theme was not that present, at least, I didn't felt it that much (but that can be because I only reached the second riddle).
To be honest, I have a mixed feeling about your game. The gameplay is too strange and thus not really fun, at least for me.
Thanks for the feedback!
Yeah there is too much info getting in too fast. Gotten good feedback aswell to make the whole levels much bigger and more fun.
The Stanley Parable was definitely inspiration.
This helps alot to get experience thank you!
I enjoyed the voicover! Having so many different sources of information coming at you all at once was overwhelming, in a good way. I think it did hinder my ability to proceed unfortunately, because I couldn't make it past the third puzzle! Enjoyable nonetheless!
Thank you for the feedback :D Yeah the 3rd room is kinda hard but it is possible, ill send you the sequence in private then you can see the rest :DDD
