About the track
I wanted to make a "Metroid Prime" inspired swampy forest soundscape. I think I got close!

Really interesting track! I think you nailed the theme you set out for! I appreciate the different timbres you choose and I think they were strategic as well. The mix sounded really balance to my ears. I really appreciated the rhythmic change around 1:53, like the forest is covered in sticky material that is going to slow the pace. Did you use FM synths on some of those bass voices? Nice and gritty! Thanks for sharing.

Oh yeah. I dig this, the subtle sub that subdivides into 8ths + the synthy bleeps remind me so much of Portal 2 it's unreal. The tempo change at around 1:50 is crazy as well it feels like metric modulation but I'm not sure if that's it.

It's in a weird middle zone of being melodic and atmospheric and I feel like it should have leaned more one way or the other. I also don't think it fits at all with the forest theme but still rad.

The production is strong but there's too much annoying pitch modulated stuff going on with too much reverb. It's not aggresive to my ears but it's a small blemish on an otherwise strong mix.

I also like to go and find an image for inspiration when I start composing! The mark of a true visual media composer is having an idea for a theme, but fleshing something out that accompanies other senses, particularly visual, is what we are best at! After looking at your inspiration image, I had a sense that your forest would sound different than the green “birds in the trees” sound that many other submissions went with. Rather I was ready for the grimy sound of a toxic forest! I think your choice of the electronic sound with the reliance on the kick and other low percussion with long low register reverb do a good job of conveying that sticky and acidic vibe. I really appreciate the creativity and am giving full stars on emotional and atmospheric impact because of the uniqueness and your commitment to, and delivery of, your interpretation of the theme. Great work and thank you for sharing!

Really cool piece, I definitely got the alien swamp atmosphere! Didn't quite get the forest vibe as much, but overall, I still think this would be a great BGM for a Metroid-like game!

While I appreciate the overall aesthetic of your track, I feel it could be improved by making it more interesting to listen to overall. The melody sounds too stagnant. It is too predictable and I feel perhaps it could be moved up an octave to make it stand out in the mix more. I can't quite put my finger on it, but it feels like the melodies aren't resolving harmonically. Also, the mix is too quiet.

Really cool artwork, giving me Dagobah vibes. But I would try fleshing out your video game idea more.

It sounds like Terraria to me, sounds great!

I like the vibe of your composition, but I don't feel "the forest" into it, unfortunately.
It might not be my mood, or simply not the way I feel/see the things, of course.

Nice usage of 5/4 though. Unexpected, but it sounds nice. I like it a lot.
The tempo drop at 1:53 caught me off guard, it took me a second listen to get ok with it, to be honest XD But that's nice, and that fits in the end.

Like I said, it sounds good, I like most of it, but I don't think it fits the theme.
