Game Description
Your goal is to strike it rich by trading goods around the solar system. Buy low and sell high, upgrade your ship, and help any travelers you come across.
How does your game tie into the theme?
An expedition is a long journey, so I made a game where you journey around the solar system trying to trade goods. The travel times between the planets are long (and kinda boring) to emphasize the distance being travelled.

Wow the art was incredible. The rest of the concept seemed very well executed. Awesome job!
This was a good solid trade sim! I loved the art, music, and overall aesthetic of the game.
The music was very very loud. I suggest while testing to pull up some kind of software that can monitor your audio levels independent of your system volume slider (like OBS). Ideally, the real time audio peaks shouldn't push against the limits of the monitor. I tend to like setting the limit at -5dB and keep the average around -10dB.
I also found an odd bug, that would allow the player to smuggle the item from the shop somehow. I was able to do it twice by accident, but wasn't able to repeat it. It seemed like if I attempted to buy something I didn't have money for and then left the store; when I revisit the store, the item would magically be in my inventory.
The upgrade menu also wasn't very clear on where to click to get the upgrades. Having the cost button set apart with a background or other bordering effect would bring more attention to it being a button rather than simply text.

It's so cool to get to watch someone playing my game on twitch, I've never had that experience before! Thank you for all the thoughtful feedback, all super valuable to hear, especially the audio bit. Will def add that to my pre-submission checklist for the future.
This was a fun little space trader. I liked seeing the values change as you traveled. I did run into some bugs, including getting a free item at the start before I saw where my money was and hadn't realized I couldn't afford the item. When upgrading the ship I also gained money, instead of spending it.
Great game. I like the concept, and the theme was spot-on. I appreciated the nostalgic vibes, the pixel style was great. Also great "help" menu.
That you've put together a whole interplanetery trade system in such a short amount of time makes me admire this game so much. Solid UI and lots of goods to choose from. Lovely Artwork (mind the sprite scaling) and cool space-cowboyesque soundtrack, too.
It took me a second to understand how to figure out pricing but once I did it was smooth sailing (also there's a bug where buying the upgrades gives you money rather than takes it away). I also appreciated the dialog and plot, great way to add depth to the core mechanic. Echoing other reviewers, if you decide to update post rating period add a "bulk buy/bulk sell" mechanic. Great worK!
My first impression was that I'm completely overwhelmed with the tutorial page and my brain told me 'you cant read through this'. But I still read the tutorial page and really enjoyed the game you have created afterwards. I really liked that you could see how the prices are different on each planet and the music was also really great. I think the idea was really ambitious for a 1 week project. Well done!
I did what I do all the time, I grinded between earth and the moon enough to be almost millionaire, then I rolled over all the other planets !! But I had a great time !! The inventory system felt a bit janky tho, like I encountered multiple visual bugs :)) but hey, game jam Lot of scale possible for this game !! Also I feel like moving prices could be a plus ? Like the more you bring smthng to a planet, the less and less expensive it becomes ? (this way you can break capitalism with style)
haha that was my strategy in playtesting too! It would have been really cool to explore a more complex economy, not allow dumping a single resource on a planet repeatedly and also maybe random events that increase/decrease prices in a region. And yeah inventory just ran out of time to polish, I didn’t realize how complex it was gonna be. Thanks for playing and the feedback!
No but stylish that you went for the complexe inventory system tho And yeah I can see how the game can grow fast, there was a complexe mod for skyrim which added a complexe economy to the games world, your game reminded me of it, a bit
Tutorial page looking complicated but does the job . Art and sounds are awsome! Really loved the overall vibe. I wish that background was a scrolling infinite matrix one and planet sprites to turn or move just a lil up animation just to feel them alive.
This was fun. There were some random bugs, but honestly most of it seemed to go in my favor (e.g. buying the upgrades).
The main thing that bugged me throughout was having to drag the items across. I really wanted to just double click on items to sell them, or even just have a “sell all” button.
Regardless, this was a solid entry, great job!
I love trading with supply and demand, and I love space, so this was right up my alley! I loved it! It was a bit buggy with the inventory displays, but it wasn’t too bad if you were just moving a few items at a time.
This was super fun and a game I would definitely buy and play with some more polish. Great job!
Thank you for the feedback! I hear you on the more to do part, would potentially be cool if there was some big prize like a ship that cost 1M credits to make it motivating to play further. Glad you had fun!
Fun experience! I enjoyed keeping track of the prices on the different planets and trading my way up to the upgrades. A little buggy at times with the inventory but I thought the experience was overall pretty well crafted. I also really liked our podcast friend.
I think the game is quite fun. It reminds me a bit of cookie clicker because of the numbers going up and up. Also, props for the inclusion of a tutorial, it explained everything pretty well and the pictures were a nice touch. By the way: The graphics are really cool! I also liked the small touch that during a long flight the ship would move slower. I also liked the humour of the game as well, for example the dialogue of the guy who gave the quests and the names like "MarsMart".
The color of the boxes behind the items was a bit glitchy at times, but that's not a big issue. Also, somehow the credits number got a lot of decimal places, even though all prices are integers? Not sure what's going on there.
All in all, I think the game ended up very good. If you do want to continue working on it, consider doing something so that the game doesn't feel as repetetive.
Thank you for playing and the thoughtful feedback! Yeah I definitely regret a lot of the bugs and weird stuff that made it into the final product, just gotta learn how to manage time better!
Overall enjoyed the game and started to really try to figure out a strategy for where I would buy/sell what.
The drag and drop was sometimes a little glitchy requiring me to drag something a couple times before it stuck. Then I figured out it had to be in the exact right spot. Maybe adding an alternate control like right click would be a nice quality of life upgrade.
Love the art style, the music and the concept!
I found two major bugs:
When I tried buying these brown shards once, without having sufficient money, the shards would still appear in my inventory and I couldn't get rid of them any longer, so I had to start over.
The Mars Shop and the Best Best Shop both give you 10k and 100k when you buy their upgrades lol
OOF sorry about that. This game was very ambitious for me and I learned I need to budget a lot more time for QA next time. Thanks for the feedback!
Love the art style! So beautiful!
