Let's trade feedback! I submitted a project too. Congrats on finishing a simple game loop on your first Jam.
Gameplay: It starts out fairly slow but does ramp up after getting enough buffer miner. The minions didn't seem to have as much impact as I'd expect, if you invest a lot into it. The Buffer miner is much more apparent in the ramp-up. Perhaps have the minions increase in size or different types are summoned if you continue to invest in that.
UI Interface: I recommend adjusting your Godot settings to the game can go full-screen. Or on your ItchIo setting page enable the full-screen option there. Hard to play with the UI so small.
PowerUps / Buyables: I get starting out with one buyable, the minions. But after getting that 5 times, I think two powerups should unlock instead of just Buff Miner. For every 5 investments, two more Powerups should unlock. So that I feel I actually have to weigh my choices in where I invest. Right now, the choice is linear for such a long while. A better system is unlocking two powerups at a time for player sense of urgency in using their limited energy.
Art: Good use of the many asset packs you listed. Very simple concept as a clicker game. The level doesn't change; fairly straightforward. It'd be cool if the level change over time based on the energy you gathered. Or if there are NPC's that pop up trying to escape the planet. Or rockets appear in the background showing people escaping. Or perhaps the sky darkens the longer you wait. Adding cues over time to show how critical this situation is and the effect on the world we're in / trying to save.
Gradually getting faster was very satisfying! I had a lot of fun playing and trying to get as much power as I could
Gets really fun once the pace picks up.
Initially I also wanted to create an idle resource gathering game, but in 3D. I changed my minds since I though it might not be interesting enough. Your submission proved me wrong.
Well done! 👏
Yes. Rule #6 on the jam page states:
“Yes, audio (sound effects and music) plus fonts can be custom made or gathered from other sources.”
Very good job delivering an incremental game in 48 hours! The game was addictive, as it should be!
Unfortunately playing on the web version was very frustrating as the canvas didn't stretch well. Since you're using godot, I'd recommend you to set the Stretch mode setting to "canvas_item"
Besides that, the game would have benefitted from some polish, especially when it comes to sound design!
Good job though, this is one of the games I spent the most time on! And I mean it as a compliment!
Very good tycoon game! Good job!
Addictive game! Love the visual. You may add more sound effects into the game.
This game is really well done! Fun experience!
Well done!
I'm sucker for a good clicking idle game :) Very nice submission, good job!
I got addicted
Its a really good game with polished visuals and sounds!
Love it, really addicting
Very fun idler game that ramps up nicely
What an absolutely fantastic entry, well done! I love your use of lighting, it adds a very polished feel. I also enjoyed upgrading my miner so much that the game started breaking, shards flying everywhere and dropping out of the screen. Really well done!
Very cool! I wish we could have multiple miners in the beginning. I liked when the blocks stacked each other even though it was probably unintended!
A charming little light-bulb idle game! This really has potential and is a great entry for a first game jam - great job!
