Nope - I've completed at least one game jam before.
How does your game fit the theme?
alot of games start with the player pressing the A button. this game is based on the idea of teaching you how to press the a button. Once the tutorial has been completed the player can celebrate by playing a game (which is the tutorial itself) so the game allows you to just get started.

Useful tutorial. I've been trying to learn how to press the a button my whole life.
Did it work
This game was hilarious. It looked unassuming but then I kept finding dialogue after dialogue.
glad to hear you thought so
lol, this game was pretty funny.
glad you think so
This made me laugh haha, i like how sarcastic the voice is when i pressed my mouse instead of a button on the keyboard :)
glad to hear
I think I f iled this ch llenge
rip, was meant to be a tutorial not a ch llenge but m ybe next time
Heyyy, I saw you in the stream chat and searched up your game! It's so funny, I really loved it. I feel like I learned a lot, and am now ready to press the A button whenever the world requires it of me. Thank you so much for the helpful tutorial. <3 (PS, I really liked the voice acting!)
that's a new one, game not even being played and the promo is working :)
glad the tutorial helped
okay now this is very funny, i loved your game
glad you enjoyed it
This game made me chuckle! Really enjoyed how it kept looping after the celebration.
This really needs some art, it would give the game more personality and enhance the experience. But congrats of the fun concept!
glad to hear. It keep looping out of necessity since UI would be out of place. If I was to expand this concept, I would like to go in a route that involved more art whilst still keeping its minimalistic vibe
Interesting concept. This could be a much better game if filled in with the art it needs.
Keep it up!
glad you liked the concept, although I originally wanted to do art for this game, it just ended up going in a minimalistic direction with the guy speaking basically just being the game itself
No problem, I enjoyed it.
Excellent short game and experience, and I’ve liked the presentation and creativity, and it taught me to press A instead of Q (my keyboard is AZERTY)
pressing the a button is a difficult thing to learn. glad you enjoyed it
this was very creative!
Well done on it you should be proud!
Piece of feedback: not sure if it was the resolution I was playing with but you might want to make the keys a little bigger to fill more of the horizontal screen space
thanks for the feedback, the keys could potentially have been bigger, I didn't want it to take up the entire screen width, but at the same time could have potentially been slightly bigger. resolution should not change what is seen
Great game! Loved the vibe and it was really fun in a "The Stanley Parable" way. I like how you caught me pressing keys that you didn't account for (like ´ and ~ ) or the fact I didn't use the keyboard at first (and spawning an A button was great).
Two things I think would have been really good to have are if the narrator called you out when you press the "a" button on the first screen, but go out of your way to not press it during the layout section or when you refuse to press anything to start the "celebration" for a full minute.
glad you liked it. There originally was a plan pressing the a button immediately to bring you to a different place than the standard keyboard place but ended up deciding against it. Celebration could have been a good idea, but I couldn't think of a way to progress (like if you wait at the start) since you are right at the end that would make sense. (I also can't remember if I thought much about it)
Help I'm stuck in a loop! I thought it was funny how you also captured never pressing 'a' :)
glad you found enjoyment in it. the game loops since I couldn't really have ui as I thought it would detract from the game
Have you played The Stanley Parable? You could make a loop like that that gets increasingly absurd.
I haven't but I have heard of it and have a rough idea of what it and the deluxe edition is. There is definetly some places I could expand and make into new loops without much hastle
I give this game A for excellent. Maybe some sound effects and polish on the looks would make it better, maybe not.
music would have been cool to add (and I definitely had time to do so If I wanted to) but I couldn't really justify it. originally I did want to have actual visuals and stuff but the game instead went down this route (which had an affect on how the game turned out, at its current point I don't think more visuals would work (still probably could be polished in some parts). thanks for the feedback
haha, game is hilarious
thanks
Hey look, I got an “AAAaaaaaaa…
did you press it
A funny little experience. I like how it loops
thank
Not the first time ive been diagnosed with useless :') Pretty cool game overall!
atleast it should have gave you a solution on how to fix it. thanks for playing
Now with the A button, you can spell ASMR.
Seriously, good humor and great scenario. Loved it. The only suggestion I have is an "impatient prompt" if the user doesn't start the celebration in a timely manner.
there is an afk loop at the start, I think I considered having one for the end but decided not to. Glad you liked it
