In that panel that counts the number of things in the ship i could swear the alien one would increase and the game would turn out into a horror one, I'm glad it didn't lol. Great puzzle game!! The 3D was neat and very good

Developer

Hahaha, that would be evil! I'm really bad with horror games though so that would never happen.

Thanks for the feedback!

That was a neat puzzle room! It looked like there was more planned that you just couldn't find the time to implement, and it would've been really cool to see what other brainteasers you would've included given the chance. I especially liked what little bits of world building you included in the environment details. I'm really curious what sort of bonkers amoeba creature needs xenon, argon, oxygen, radon, chlorine, uranium, and literal fire in its environmental control system.

Developer

I'm glad you liked it!

I severely underestimated how long this would take, especially all the visuals. Originally I wanted to have 3 more puzzles plus one "boss" puzzle, which all needed to be cut due to time constraints. I might add them in future updates.

The chart should've indicated that any one of those elements would be fine but your interpretation sounds much more fun.

The crampy space remided me of Iron lung . I like it very much , no empty space wasted. The whole vibes it gives is great with the VFX. The gameplay was nice with the standard movement. and working on the different panels. Do you mind trying my game too ?

Agree with the other comments, the atmosphere is great - the visuals and sound design work very well together. It's definitely unique in a great way, very creative and fun.

I think the controls are fine since WASD works for most of the movement, and I found myself using the mouse for navigation as well since it does really seem to fit well.  Once I got accustomed to WASD movement, it felt a bit limiting that S could not back out of inspecting things (only click), though it's a very small nitpick. Overall I think this is really cool, it's not my style of game per se but I did enjoy it for sure. Great job!

Really like this one, the atmosphere, the sounds and the visual effects are amazing.

I do have to say the old-school adventure controls turn me off a bit though, especially at the start my head kind of spin a bit trying to remember the map, even though it's tiny. I wonder why you didn't do a normal FPS kind of control.

Also the first bit when the power goes down gave me a bit of jump scare with the loud noise so maybe you could adjust that a little bit :)

Developer

I'm glad you liked it!

Regarding the controls: On one hand I was inspired by old puzzle games like Myst. On the other, I already dabbled around with old-school dungeon crawler movement in a previous project and thought "Why not put it into space?". I was so focused on the other parts of the game that I didn't really consider how the movement might come across.

I was originally planning to make sections of the spaceship more unique to make navigating easier but unfortunately there wasn't any time left for that.

Sorry about the jumpscare. I was worried that might be the case but it was one of the very last things I added to the game and that point it was so late that I just had to wrap things up.

And of course thanks for the feedback! Once the game jam is over I'll work on fixing those issues.

This was super fun. The puzzle were a great blend of not holding your hand, but still being reasonable for you to figure out on your own!

Fun: I like the puzzle, it makes you feel like you are really fixing a ship

presentation: great, the tutorial is good, the sound effects, the visuals, the camera spin, amazing

creativity, amazing idea, using puzzles to start the ship, fits the theme well

Just amazing! Puzzles were interesting and fun, really loved the camera style, really suits the athmospere of the game

This one is underrated, the puzzles are actually really good and the atmosphere is great, i hope more people come and try it, they are missing out

Oh yeah and if you want go and play my game, would love to hear your thoughts

Amazing atmosphere. Don't sleep on this one, it is a really good entry! I loved the puzzles, I loved the atmosphere, super reminiscent of the old adventure games. Great feedback when you fail a puzzle, and enough hints to figure stuff out without hand-holding. Thank you for this gam, I really enjoyed it! I only wish it were longer haha

This was super fun, the puzzles were difficult enough to keep me entertained without getting frustrated.  The pipe puzzle and grid movement gave me so much nostalgia. Pretty cool game!

I don't like adventure games, but this is quite nice. Quite immersive, but not arcane.

playing this game made me feel smart. visuals are good, art is readable enough and the puzzles can be tricky but i understand it pretty well. Really good first game jam submission!

Developer

Nice! That's pretty much what I was aiming for. Thanks for playing!

Wow! I thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The grid movement around the ship was very cool, I don't see it all too often in jams. The atmosphere was very well put together from the props in rooms to the slight humming sounds. Great work all around!

Developer

I'm glad to hear it! My main focus was to make the machines and their startup procedure feel immersive and it seems like I was able to bring that across :)

I downloaded this on my laptop and it ran but barely (its an old laptop, not allowed to use my work pc for exe's)

this feels quite complicated, i struggled through for a few minutes but didnt really understand it

Well done on your first game jam!

a piece of feedback for you, make a webbrowser game for the next one you enter, will help get eyeballs on your games!

Developer(+1)

That it's a 3D game probably doesn't play nice with lower-end machines. I'll look into performance optimizations that are doable within a game jam.

I think I'll make a walkthrough video for those who get stuck. I originally wanted to add a hint system but unfortunately didn't have enough time for it.

I definitely agree with making it a webbrowser game. I only learned last second that .NET Godot doesn't make that easy.

Thanks for the feedback!
